@@MegaBlair007 I don't think so - you can see in other endings that he is not the same person. No doubt all of the killings he's been doing up to this point has been eating away at his conscience, but what makes the difference between the endings whether he chose to hold onto his conscience by not betraying Kuro, or to throw it away and let other things (his father's command, shinobi's code, and ultimately the negative influence of all the killings on his mentality) take over his mind and turn him into shura. I think its interesting that Owl begins to scream out his "real person name" at the end. The reason why ninjas have animal names is probably because the're not meant to be "people", in the sense of existing for the sole purpose of serving their parents/master. Owl screaming out his name shows a rejection of that nature, which also helps explain why he betrayed his masters in pursuit of power for himself. In fact, the fact that he even *has* a "real person name" suggests that he wasn't always a ninja, since ninjas don't get those. The fact that Emma had less deathblows than mini bosses and Isshin only matched them always made me feel off going into the fight and I think that’s on purpose since it really shows how far gone Sekiro already is at that point since they’re also insanely brutal deathblows too for people he was allied with
My first playthru i sided with Kuro. Due to the Dragonrot, I decided that Kuro was right, the divine blood was not sacred, and until it was severed, people would continue waging mini-wars over it. In the end my preferred ending is the Purification ending. Sekiro sacrifices himself to give Kuro a normal life; I think it’s a fantastic Send off for Sekiro, and I like to wonder how Kuro and Emma’s life will turn out. I almost always do each ending in these kind of games at least once. The Shura path is sad, but seeing Sekiro become Shura, and the narrator alluding to him having become this unknown demon who stalks Ashina, is a chilling (in a good way) and emotional ending. Though Sekiro Likely Kills Kuro:(
Nobody is going to talk about the fact that : -The final boss in tending is not only an old man, but a literal geriatric in his pijama and his nurse. -Isshin is a master swordsman and a fire-bender too.

4:43 that "SEKIRO" is literally everything, the faint smirk that wolf has, enjoying his kill. On the verge of becoming shura, and then his smile fading away as he hears the man, the legend. The strongest swordsman in the history of japan, up from his deathbed, hours of dying with his illness at it's peak. In his 90s, and still he comes to stop you. The dialagues, the music building up. The tension and the flames, and then the way he draws his sword. Such a glorious moment. Isshin grew to be one of my favorite characters in gaming. And that's saying a lot from a fromsoft game
@Not You No, the mortal blade has the ability to KILL immortal beings. The dragon tears are there to remove the dragon's heritage and cleanse the world of dragonrot.
When I saw the iron code option, I just knew I had to go for it. I was expecting some twist in conversation, and when asked the second time my decision remained unchanged. Not until I actually pierced through Emma's throat did I know shit was serious and there was no chance for a "betraying-dad" development. I actually had to murder the characters I liked. But the ending was the craziest. For a brief moment when Sekiro stabbed Owl I thought the expected twist finally occurred, with Kuro reviving Emma and Isshin with his heritage power, sth like that, and the quest would continue. I thought either way (choosing to fight Ashina pair or Owl), the ultimate showdown wouldn't come until after at least a couple more hours of gameplay. But turned out the story ended on a weird, unresolved note, with me being a mass-stabbing psychopath, and tons of unanswered questions, which are dealt with in the supposedly canon ending... I prolly won't start my second playthrough unless I'm extremely bored, but wow, what a fearless maneuver by Fromsoftware. Basing hours of gameplay on a single, irreversible decision and making every player who chose iron code path feel like real-life Shuras. Reverse catharsis. Impressive!
I think this is the canon ending. Also, nothing objectively bad about it (except the part where Wolf betrays his father), it's just how each person chooses to perceive it.
So... obeying the iron code makes Sekiro Shura? The same code Owl and all other shinobi obeyed without turning in psychotic thrill killers? There needed to be more to this ending, like killing NPCs or the bystander enemies.
@@silverblade357 no. Falling for the corrupting trap of immortality and blindly following his father's wishes is what turns sekiro into shura. The Iron code isn't the sole reason.

It's interesting how watching other players make mistakes I wouldn't can teach me to avoid the mistakes that I do make. Watching imperfect gameplay just generally seems to be a better teacher for me than "perfect" gameplay.
Small advice to deal with his Ashina cross: When he set in to do the move, move closer towards him for he will first attack you once and then sweep. The attack is quite easy to parry if you get the timing down and after that instantly jump and bounce off his head. This way, you can maintain pressure a lot more better instead of backing off
Just beat them. Fantastic parry duels. Btw, Umbrella + Projected Force during fire attacks would shorten Isshin's phase 2 and make it easier quite a bit.
I wonder how long before we eventually see videos of super skilled people completing the whole game without dying or without taking a hit. Good luck trying that 😁

Thing is this game is not the usual clunky slowness that other souls titles have. The speed in this game can be off the chart sometimes, and do not get me started on the spear wielding miniboss enemies that are overpowered beyond all belief because fromsoft gained a spear obsession out of nowhere. Kuro’s voice is by far the worst English voice in the game, I’m considering doing my next play through in Japanese because of his voice
@@goose_loose Played the whole game Japanese, everyone's voice just fits so well. Owl, Isshin, even Emma sound way better in Japanese. It just fits the characters better. Which makes sense, considering the game takes place in JAPAN lol of course Japanese voice would fit it's characters better.
Edit: Also, I just got to the last part, and the way he says "You can't be Shura" was so hilarious I audibly laughed LOL, he says it like how a kid would say "No, you can't be Batman, I want to be Batman!"

Idk why journalists think this game is impossible, Sekiro is literally immortal in the lore.
To answer your question: they are game journalists
Doesn’t mean the players themselves can’t get game-overs.
Have you seen that guy play cuphead? Most of those people don't care about games, they just want to make a quick and easy buck.
@@memeg8076thats why From Software makes this type of difficulty, to filter game journalists
The game itself actually tells you to not die alot and discourages you from failing both game wise and in lore; the more you die in lore the more it effects other people.

@@richfoster4369 Morally speaking it's bad as Wolf has lost his humanity and abandoned the person he was meant to protect.
@@AxisChurchDevotee yes but he didnt ask about morals, it was the best decision for Wolf as it was literally the only case in which he would feel at least some sort of satisfaction.
@Donquixote Doflamingo No, shura took over sekiro, thats no longer sekiro. And that brat has good intentions, and he's smarter than most.
The cutscene before you fight Ishiin gives me chills. The expression on his face and eye is so emotional, like he’s disgusted he’s being forced to kill shura again.
4:39 that damn creepy smile, he's losing his mind
4:18 love the roll into the finisher. Super smooth. Also breaks my heart every time I fight Emma
The fact that Emma had less deathblows than mini bosses and Isshin only matched them always made me feel off going into the fight and I think that’s on purpose since it really shows how far gone Sekiro already is at that point since they’re also insanely brutal deathblows too for people he was allied with
I would say that Ishiin was surprisingly formidable for a man on his deathbed but that would downplay how powerful he was at the end of his life.
Though Sekiro Likely Kills Kuro:(
The thing that Owl places by Isshin's body is Genichiro's decapitated HEAD!!!
That's why he got the black sword... Omg I never noticed it

it's interesting how Emma is looking at the reflection on her blade (probably of you) to avoid looking you in the eye at the beginning, i wish the VA in this part had captured how her voice is breaking up like with the japanese voices
Saving this ending for my 4th and final ng boss still looks easier then the normal final boss fight
It definitely is Emma is a joke the only tough part is Isshin's 2nd phase, but that can be summed up with avoid the fire spots and block XD
Not You You have at least 3 less attack power as (Owl, True Monk, and Dragon)
You know what makes this boss so much more badass?
It's the fact that Isshin isn't kicking your ass in his Pajamas
4:43 that "SEKIRO" is literally everything, the faint smirk that wolf has, enjoying his kill. On the verge of becoming shura, and then his smile fading away as he hears the man, the legend. The strongest swordsman in the history of japan, up from his deathbed, hours of dying with his illness at it's peak. In his 90s, and still he comes to stop you. The dialagues, the music building up. The tension and the flames, and then the way he draws his sword. Such a glorious moment. Isshin grew to be one of my favorite characters in gaming. And that's saying a lot from a fromsoft game
7:17 my man dodged one of the deadliest combos in the game by mistake
Owl's reaction to Shura always gives me chills
I wonder what happened to Kuro in this ending? Did Wolf kill him?
The Mad God most likely
He has both mortal blades
Kuro is 100% dead
But where are the dragon tears? You need that to properly kill Kuro.
Mitchell Zollinger no, the mortal blades can draw the blood of Kuro, the dragon tears remove the immortality.
@Not You
No, the mortal blade has the ability to KILL immortal beings.

Impressive!
Love how wolf picks the sword owl had the same way isshin picks up genichiro’s sword in the other endings

Thing is this game is not the usual clunky slowness that other souls titles have. The speed in this game can be off the chart sometimes, and do not get me started on the spear wielding miniboss enemies that are overpowered beyond all belief because fromsoft gained a spear obsession out of nowhere. That and i feel like ng+7'ing this game with no damage or no deaths will be extremely hard because at ng+7 i'm expecting everything to be a oneshot honestly with how much damage some of these bosses are doing on bare bones ng, thus demanding endless perfect deflects or dodges from the player for every boss. Especially the bosses that can cause terror which is the most bullshit status effect in a soulslike since frenzy in bloodborne. @Starscream91
