I've listened to both the English and Japanese voice acting, and I think they're both pretty good. I prefer English, though, because it means I don't have to read the subtitles to know what's being said. Each language has good and bad, I'm sure (haven't played the full game in Japanese, but have in English). For example, imo Gyoubu's screaming sounds way better in English, while the Tengu of Ashina demanding your name sounds way better in Japanese.
@@JaxonBurn Yes, when you first talk to him he says he's looking for a white flower. You find this near the bell demon temple idol and give it to him. He then asks you to spirit him away. Once you have the tool, you can do so and he will disappear. As soon as you enter the hall of illusions he is sitting there.
If you played in japanese you can easily figure out DoH was Sculptor - DoH uses the same honorific "omae-san" when you finish him. In fact, I haven't ever encountered this honorific anywhere before, not in a single anime, it's that rare.
I've definetly heard it before in some animes but yes, it's a pretty rare honorific that was used mostly back in the Edo to Meiji periods by married couples or people that are close to each other.
You can easily figure it out without the honorific, i mean almost every important npc talks about him being a Shura and he tells you about the flames of rage inside him, he dissapears just when the demon show up, the demon is missing one arm... And if you havent noticed by then,he starts literally firing flaming sculptor's idols. I think there are many clues everywhere and the honorific one seems to be the smallest of all xD
If you played with japanese voices you also got a better experience IMO. Not that the english voices are bad, it's just that Japan is home to the greatest voice actors on the planet.

I am probably wrong, but it looks to me like one of Owl's arms is smaller than the other also, though his left is completely covered in armour which may just give that effect.
If you gave all the sake out for the extra lore... you two key bits to tell you who DoH is. It is hinted at _A LOT_ through out the game. sculptor was trained in Ashina Depths where the monkeys are and nicknamed orangutan. That is why the Demon of Hatred actually looks like an orangutan. Sculptor's arm was cut off by Isshin because he was almost consumed and became a Shura. He still battles this and thus only sees flames and all of ashina burning from budda statue.
Just a little trivia: Emma also told you and reveal that the sculptor is called "Orangutan" as his shinobi name and one of the only two great shinobi besides owl. You can trigger this in the Purification ending when you follow her in the old grave.
I can't trigger that dialog, i've tried a lot of stuff, drinking sake with everybody, eavesdrop on everyone, finnish both hirata state memories... And i can't get that extra dialog
@@ricardordz7538 There is a dialogue which you evedrop, that Emma have with the Sculptor. "A shinobi would know the difference between honor and victory" Like my guy ain't you supposed to be a Samurai who don't do anything unhonorable in battle
@Chouay AbdelAli It's the Sengoku era, it's like 16th centuries, bushido was created like 12th or 13th century. It existed 300 to 200 years ago in the sengoku Era.
Also if you pay attention, the fireballs that the demon throws at you are actually the Buddhas he carved, and around kotaro at any of the places you can find him, if you attack in front and around him, those waves that appear when you attack an NPC wi also pop up so... Probably the children that he can only begin to see at senpou temple were always with him..

tip: such devotion #13 you can use the "bell demon" instead of all your precious items You can find it significantly early in the game. It casts a curse on you, making enemies more robust, but it rewards you with better drops, but you can dispel the curse anytime. Do it in front of the old lady, so you don't have to use your items.
Here's something that most people miss: The grandma is always there. When Tengu stands in the main room she's in the bedroom behind the wall. You can get there by approaching the shortcut door and looking to the left. She's already giving you warnings about hatered.

One point to mention about killing the Rats for Tengu, you don't have to kill all of the rats that are hanging out above Gyoubu's arena. You can just backstab the one spying on the other two and then go get the Text from Tengu.
Fromsoftware: So there is this NPC that is a merchant, if you follow their questline they will sell you a lot of good stuff... and they are very friendly Also Fromsoftware:...in the end they went hollow/depressed/straight up ded.
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but the first grapple point in the Dilapidated Temple leading to the main area of Ashina Outskirts gets burned off upon reaching the end game. It was possibly intended for the player to find another way into the Outskirts, but I personally think there are lore reasons for it and that it was the Sculptor's doing before turning into the Demon of Hatred.
Ooh, I can contribute to lore! A little anyway. If you use 3 rez's on owl, the third rule of the shinobi code is that fear is absolute. There isn't a fourth dialogue tho. You can test it for yourself with a bundled jizo statue, Jinzas jizo statue and the tooth that kills you.
The Anayama quest line was the saddest one to me. The second being the Surgeon’s. In the Abandoned Dungeon you get a note where Kotaro’s dad apologizes to him. Kotaro’s storyline is sad no matter what route you choose, in my opinion, the worst being the white pinwheel for some reason. To think he would spend eternity talking to dead children. At least in the other two quest forks he has a chance to reincarnate lol.
after playing the game more i just realized two things. 1. don't need the shortcut to headless, if its difficult to do, just run past the general, past the sign that warns you about headless, take the rout to headless, then instead of jumping to the headless just take the other entrance outside grapple until you reach the same tower that you are trying to get a shortcut to. open the door there. 2. do not skip the flaming bull it gives some skill improvements to your healing.
Daaaaaaamn the past two times I've fought and killed the Demon of Hatred, Sekiro hasn't recognized him. I NEED to do everything I can to make that happen!

Same is here when play the game with Japanese language
I finished the game multiple times in English
I didn't know you became a Vaati Vather! Congratulations!

You can spirit him away with the fan prosthetic tool and then you can say hi whenever you want in the hall of illusions
MixedGrene wait what? Really?

I almost forgot the most famous quote in Anime history :
OMAE wa mou Shindeiru
You can easily figure it out without the honorific, i mean almost every important npc talks about him being a Shura and he tells you about the flames of rage inside him, he dissapears just when the demon show up, the demon is missing one arm... And if you havent noticed by then,he starts literally firing flaming sculptor's idols. I think there are many clues everywhere and the honorific one seems to be the smallest of all xD
If you played with japanese voices you also got a better experience IMO.
Not that the english voices are bad, it's just that Japan is home to the greatest voice actors on the planet.
I hear "omae" all over the place.
Just a tip if you use Bite Down or Hidden Tooth you can ressurect without the black line cancelling out your other ressurects
That's what I assumed it would do but never tried, thanks!
But what situation would that even be necessary? I sell all the bite down I find cause why would I want to waste a ressurection when I can just win?

Inb4 DLC has you travel to a alternate future to fight your Shura, duel mortal blade wielding self.
Would be badass.
I'm thinking its going to be something with Tomoe
Play the game in genchiro's perspective? Then you should also how he got the 2nd mortal blade, I think he got it trough isshin because later in the game if u go to isshin's place you can find a note explaining that there is the 2nd mortal blade in the divine realm? I just commented basically the same thing before reading this. If not for VaatiVidya my Souls experience would be so much less emotional and memorable.
agreed
Did you notice you, the dragon, and the (sculptor/demon of hatred) all have the same arm missing?
I am probably wrong, but it looks to me like one of Owl's arms is smaller than the other also, though his left is completely covered in armour which may just give that effect.
Demon of hatred is sculptor.. No doubt about that..
Read the memory of the Demon of Hatred
the sculptor is the demon look at its face ^^
Hello, I got this conversation but giving her the monkey sake, how can I follow her to the old grave?
Man, I didn't know about Sekiro recognizing the Sculptor. That broke my heart.
That just made it more sad

you can use the "bell demon" instead of all your precious items

@J Luna it's not about the authenticity, it's about the performance. Contrast Sekiro's English voice actors with those of Bloodborne or a Dark Souls game. The difference is night and day, and Sekiro's is terrible
@@gimmedataids
Sekiro's EN voice is probably one of the worst out of them all.
There's some meme material in the EN dub, though~
MY NAME IS GYOUBU MASATAKA ONIWA!!!! actually became a meme even in the Japanese community!
I'll agree that the English voice acting pales in comparison to DS and BB. But I would take a pretty good English over Japanese in this case.
@@orc001 i respect that. I'm a bit sensitive to the voice acting performance. If it's off, then I just can't feel whatever emotion they're trying to pull off. I like the mystery and bleakness of FROM's games and the voice acting helps a great deal in communicating that atmosphere. Doesn't feel like a FROM game if the characters sound like cartoons.
@@orc001 I do realize that I'm not really qualified to judge a Japanese vocal performance, but as a fellow human I can at least pick up on the emotions they are conveying. The English VOs often sound just like an anime, which is incredibly cheesy to me
I have gone through alot of sekiro walkthroughs and yours is by far the most informative and to the point as if i had made it myself. serious kudos on the video dude!!
The samurai cutscene technique should be unlock able in the dlc
Sekiro: Onions Slice Twice
more than twice
Fun tip for people coming back to the game again, everyone on pc should try the mod that removes tool cost, letting you just go nuts with your prosthetics on a second play or first oh you want a boost, doesn't unbalance it too much, there's also a lesser setting that just lets you hold 20-25 emblems too
The character model options are fun too, don't think I've played with default wolf since the first few days
The cyberpunk one with black and neon blue limbs is really rad
The last bit got me every time. Farewell, Sculptor.
Still can't believe he carried that many statues to throw at you
Here's a fact you probably don't know. So the loaded spear description says that it could pull out Armour so what if you use it on the armored warrior boss?
After farming for hours I was able to upgrade the loaded spear to it's maximum level before killing armoured warrior and used it against him.......
It did nothing.........
only "light" armor

Blazing Bull skip was patched out in the latest patch
Jinzaemon's quest line hits even harder when you realize O'Rin of the Water was actually his mother. That's the reason she called him to her

after playing the game more i just realized two things.
1. don't need the shortcut to headless, if its difficult to do, just run past the general, past the sign that warns you about headless, take the rout to headless,
then instead of jumping to the headless just take the other entrance outside grapple until you reach the same tower that you are trying to get a shortcut to. open the door there.
2. do not skip the flaming bull it gives some skill improvements to your healing.
