I agree with you completely! But when you go to the shop to find one color timeless clothes,you see only things in awful prints and impossible colors 😑 it's not easy to find....

And they’re either cropped, boxy, oversized or have dropped shoulders. It’s impossible to find classic silhouettes. They used to exist because I still have some of those pieces.
Maybe look for vintage clothes. I know, most of my clothes that I love are several years old and well made.
For sure shop resale or thrift .. you never know but the chances are good you’ll find some good classic pieces and colors.
I’m over 60, but I know what not to wear but a lot of people don’t. I am a classic wardrobe person. Everything in my wardrobe coordinates and it’s all classic pieces. How I make it look different is with accessories. I try to update my accessories often so I look up to date…
I also update my classic wardrobe with more current accessories, especially shoes, I can’t always resist shoe trends. I just choose the less extreme versions, in high-quality leather, they work better with classics and don’t date as fast.🙂

I have quite a collection of belts. They are timeless and never end up in the clothes bank! My go-to is a brown Gucci with the buckle in the shape of a snake, that I picked up in a sale in Leeds, England, 25 years ago!
Hello Mary here! Loved video. Also, having just turned 70 in November and having finished your Styling Course, Iwould love for you to do a video for women 70+. As a personal stylist, I find women want to either hide in their clothing or just give up--an "I'm not worth it anymore" attitude. So sad with so much life left to live.

Not me. IDGAF... ain't nobody paying my bills but me.. Not even my best friend...parents..or man...plus these fashion designers are wacked...gonna wear what I want. If I want jeans and a sweater and flats that's what I'm going to wear. If I want to wear over the knee boots and they are "out of fashion" too bad

I love silk scarves - they are so classic and look so refined. I am careful how I wear and tie mine (no bows - too frumpy). I like clean, tailored looks. Can really elevate an outfit. Also love white shirts, camel coats and structured bags. All great advice. Merci.

One rule I follow as I age, so much fun, is - if you wore it the first time it was popular, you aren't allowed to wear it now. No super trendy clothes for us, we already wore it! Thank you for bringing navy back into my life! Such a classic color to mix up all the black in my wardrobe!
Yeah, you’re wrong. Unless in the past you wore the cheap over the top stuff. I have chunky booties, flared jeans and form fitting tops. I knew when this trend was coming and know how to wear it

That is in genius so genius like I think it’s a great idea if you haven’t made the video regarding that if so congrats wonderful idea a lot of people out there need to be educated on that because they are dressing like they just entered a random closet and think they’re a certain age they’re not and that my dear needs to be very much corrected and think you’re the right person to correct them high five 😂 high five

Why are these rules different for the over fifties? They are the same whether you are 20 or 70 - wear classic well fitting clothes in neutral colours that suit your body shape (which doesn’t change much over the years) and accessorise to make them individual. (ie Don’t wear S***)

I've been following your great advice lately and making my purchases accordingly. It's so helpful . In a country where people either dress from the hamper of dirty cloths or shriek " look at me " with their clothing , I find following your guidelines incredibly helpful . I know u touched on it with undergarments but I think it goes a long way for ppl to make sure they are wearing the right size and style for their body!
I am a bigger girl and I am forever complimented on how I look and dress.
I put this down to wearing the right size and knowing what suits me.
I also spend money on quality rather than quantity.
I have sooooo many classic key pieces in my wardrobe which I have spent a lot on but are still going strong for over 10 years! (Eg I have a LBD which was $600 and it still looks new after 13 years)
I also buy quality accessories- sunglasses, bags, jewellery but again not in a large quantity.
Due to this many ppl assume I have alot of money! I don’t 😂 I mean I’m not broke but I’m far from rich!
Interesting isn’t it! More ppl should take ur advice and learn from it!

I cannot wear black nor white even thought my natural hair is very light brown and my eyes are blue grey and amber and can get away with some cool colors in blues and greys because of my eye color but silver color jewellery is not flattering on me at all .

I love all your videos so much. I just turned 60 and am still playful with colors and clothes. I’m not comfortable wearing jeans anymore, but would love your help with any direction I can take. I’m a flight attendant and class is key.
How about cigarette-leg trousers? You can find them in all the classic colors. These are not the same as skinny leg jeans.

I love my silk cargo joggers from Lily Silk (in three different colors), I got them custom-sized for my thicker waist and skinny hips, it’s free (just order the nearest size and put in your measurements in the box, I add an inch to every measurement including the rise and inseam, as I prefer a relaxed fit). They’re my ideal comfy trousers. I also love simple knit dresses, or a soft skirt and knit top, with a pair of boots and a blazer, jacket or coat for going out of the house. I occasionally find stretchy trousers that fit, I just got two different pairs from Target, one in cream and one in taupe, love them (I recommend the pull-on styles, the side-zip styles are difficult to put on/off). I never wear jeans, I’m 62 and I never found a comfortable pair in my life. I buy luxury fabrics now, why not feel wonderful every day? I’m sure you dress very well, and uncomfortable items like jeans aren’t necessary to look chic, nor are heels.🙂

I will only wear the Hanes MHW796 (MHG796?) bra. Its wireless and unlined. It gives support and looks smooth without compressing what little I got. I think it would work for every kind of breast shape and it comes in large sizes too
I have the same style/color coat. Although living in Alabama I don’t wear it a lot…..our winters can sometimes be very mild.

Hi gorgeous, you look great in your Levi’s but I find it so very difficult to wear skinny jeans. I am 5ft 1in and a size 8. I can’t seem to find a pair of skinny jeans that fit right around my legs. They are always wrinkly and as you know don’t look very flattering. Help!
