I have a black wool trench that my mom actually bought for me 25 years ago, and I love it still. My mom is gone, and I'm nearly 50, I'm so glad to have it, for many reasons. ❤
My best buy was a wool/cashmere double breasted coat in dark brown. Hugely expensive. 33 years after I bought it I am still wearing it and still getting asked 'where did you get your coat?' Instead of looking at the cost and thinking 'Too expensive' think 'How much wear will I get out of this garment?'

Right now I have one red dress and one black dress. I'm in my 20's so I figured these are the most common events I'll need a dress for. Next I am planning to buy a summer black dress, maybe loose linen, and a more professional black dress, for interviews or funerals. I have been working on my wardrobe for a few years, it's not easy! I am trying to find the perfect items before I buy. But it is really fulfilling.
I love your tips. Thank you for sharing so much. I have one tip to add. When we were getting our sons fitted for suits, our tailor told us that he does any tailored job, even for women's wear. He recommended that we purchase a suit off the rack and bring it in for final fittings. It only costs between $20-50 for the specialized work, depending on how much needed to be done. I did this with a vintage Dior for my 6'4" son, and it was fitted beautifully. We did this with a fantastic suit for my 6 ft. daughter, with the same results. Having a tailor custom fit you in a beautifully made garment is so much easier than looking for the 'perfect' one, especially if your body changes over time. Or you could work with a professional certified personal stylist. We are trained in asking you specific questions that would answer your personal style type and then we take it from there. This is similar to how we have stylists who make a general "Capsule Closet" We believe that there are many personal styles who need different capsule closets. Lots of stylists who do too many generalizations. How many so called stylists who recommend LBD as a closet staple may find that they do not suit black, it may be a colour that drains them, maybe another colour would be a staple in their closet.
@@helenhall299 She may not be the classic type though. Classic does not work for everyone it is an erroneous idea that it does, goes hand in hand with black suits everyone it actually is a very harsh colour to wear especially over forty, which I imagine that the followers of this channel probably are.
@@yourstylebyalma That is true! Also, the idea is to look put together and you can do that with other types of clothing. If you have the money, you can work with a personal stylist. Sometimes the problem is not only the style, but the colors or the fabrics. Like some types of silk don’t look good on everyone. Also cashmere doesn’t look good on everyone. There are people who look better in wool, mohair or other types of fabrics.

How to buy such nice sweaters in Croatia. I live in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
Love your style but question that these are “budget” options.

Hi. Love your videos. Regarding a white button shirt, what fabric do you recommend? I don't want to always have to iron a white shirt. Thanks❤

Aucun rapport avec le sujet de la video (qui est geniale au passage), est-ce que tu as un nouveau chien ou c'est juste une guest star pour la video ? 🐶
