I must agree with you Frederique, less is so much more as we come to a certain age. Skin care becomes the most important part of a women's routine, it's the canvas that is the very foundation and without care you are fighting an up hill battle.. I feel skin care along with a few select products goes so much further than caking your face with the latest products hoping for a miracle. I thank you for such a well thought-out video, you never disappoint. Bless you❤️

In my culture natural long lashes are admired, even in poems. Eastern cultures have been obsessed with beauty of eyes, eyebrows and eyelashes(even eyelids). You will hear them a lot in love songs(especially old ones). But exaggerated eyelash extensions are really new and I don't think men like them if they look fake. Makeup, fake lashes etc should enchance the beauty already you have, not hiding it.

Don't give up on your brows if you think they are never growing back, ladies! I am one of those Gen x-ers who overplucked my eyebrows for two decades. When thicker brows became more popular, I saw that it really did look better, and I have been growing mine back for close to four years now. Maybe half of them came back in the first two years, and that was fine (I have some thick, wiry curly brow hairs). I was able to make them look decent with makeup even though there were bald patches. Recently, my brows have had a surprise growth spurt. The hairs are now filling in evenly! I doubt I will need to use pencil after another month or two. All I did was stop plucking them. Don't give up!

    • @ThundermansThunder

And the men say "AMEN!" Thin eyebrows are fine, if that is all you have, but thicker eyebrows do look better. I think just keep them tidy without trying to make them razor-edged perfect, as some women do, or color in too much, because that looks terrible, too. So happy for you that you brows are filling in, because that doesn't always happen after overplucking, so that adds hope for others! I know a couple of women that over plucked as teens many years ago who are now in their 50's that have almost no brow at all to this day, so you are blessed, indeed!

    My tips:
    1) Foundation: Instead of BB cream, I put invisible sunscreen as a base then the tinted version, wait 10 mins to absorb before putting on a light dusting of finely milled talc-free high quality powder foundation (Inika/Tarte Amazonian/Youngblood etc). I then pat on a layer of Pyungkang Yul toner which seals it all gives me an all-day stay-put dewy/gloss/non-greasy look instead of any highlighter. Highlighter looks very unclassy/cakey IMHO. Use a toner instead for subtle shine on high points of face.
    2) Fillers/Treatments: Only do 0.5ml of SOFT filler (Belotero/Restalyne/Teosyal etc-AVOID JUVERDERM), don't touch the vermillion border ever (avoids the Shelf/Duck lip migration) concentrate on the CENTRE portion of the lips only, never the outer. You will end up with gorgeous natural-looking Cherry lips over time. Never put in 1ml in one session, build up 0.5ml SLOWLY, OVER TIME. Go with an injector who has 15 years + experience at least and looks natural herself, not plastic. Younger injectors tend to prefer an overfilled look.
    * DEFINITELY do PDO threads (matrix mono + cog/barbed) 1-2 times a year to build up collagen & thicken skin. Worked AMAZINGLY on me.
    * Use Sculptra/Radiesse for volume loss/marionette/nasiolabial folds etc.
    * Lasers like Q-switch are no downtime, almost painfree and get rid of dark age spots. It 100% got rid of all my pigmentation permanently.
    3) Perfume: I buy high quality Niche perfumes from specialist perfume stores. I cover my whole body straight out the shower when still wet with Egyptian Magic balm then layer different perfumes at different points of my body (weak parfums on top half of body (don't rub perfume!!!) heavier perfumes near my ankles/feet only. Wear perfumes according to seasons i.e Citrus/Fruity scents in Summer, Florals/Green Fougeres in Spring, Woody/Orientals/Concentrates in Autumn/Winter etc.
    4) Eyebrows: I dermaroll my eyebrows 1-2 times a month and apply Argan oil to my brows/lashes to a clean washed face before bed every night. BEST brow product ever invented is Shu Uemera Hard Formula eye pencil for incredibly natural/non-harsh eyebrows. One pencil lasts for YEARS also. 10/10 product.
Eyelashes: 100% agree re: falsies- just HORRIBLE! I use Covergirl Exhibitionist Waterproof mascara. I've tried a million brands, drugstore & high-end and its my Holy Grail. Makes my lashes SUPER LONG AND THICK and glossy, no smudges etc. Buuuut HAVE to use a new/clean spoolie, not the built-in one! Magnetic lashes can be "okay" but hard to apply/annoying.
    * If you want longer lashes, drink grass-fed bone broth with gelatine regularly (great for replacing volume loss in face too!) and use cold-pressed Castor oil/Argan oil before bed every night.
Lips: I also wear really classic True Red lipstick daily only (i.e. Sephora 01, Mac Ruby Woo, Sigma Venom, Stila Beso, Nars Jungle Red, Jane Iredale Passion, Milani Satin, Fenty Stunna, Lisa Eldridge Velvet Ribbon. I pat it down and smudge it with my finger also so it looks like my natural lips with no hard borders. Red lipstick flatters everyone and can be worn day/night for any occasion.

      Why avoid juvederm?

    • @Rhauxshna82
      @Rhauxshna82 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@ruthrehak4995 Unlike the soft fillers I mentioned Juvederm is a hard/contouring filler and draws in a lot of water. As Dr Gavin Chan from Melbourne/Dr Ben Talei point out, filler can stay for years not months and build up/migrate and Juvederm is the filler responsible for the majority of overfilled/unhappy "duck lip" outcomes. People get filler blindness as it achieves that "instant full lip look" but their perception of how really it looks/how it appears to other people gets warped over time and more unnatural-looking/alien. Soft filler is less likely/takes much longer to get that full look and just looks very naturalistic in comparison.

Love all the tips! One I have been using for a few years now (I’m 57) is to stop the eyeliner a few lashes before the outside corner. Our eyes tend to droop as we age, the liner, if taken to the edge, will emphasize this. Also, no liner or mascara on the bottom lashes for me - makes me look tired.

I agree, Frederique. Too much make up looks cheap and is unattractive. I also wear very little, very minimal makeup. My makeup routine is done in about 5 minutes. I’m blessed with long dark eye lashes, so I rarely wear mascara ( it is so hard to take off! )and I just curl my eyelashes. The best thing to do is take care of our skin by taking care of our health, inside and out! And be a positive person!
Green video! And, just my opinion, but I don’t think you needed the lip filler. Just my opinion, you already have very beautiful lips without the fillers.
Be blessed! Hope you reach 200,000 very soon!! You work so hard for it and I’ve been with you from the beginning!

Now, I use pure organic Argan oil, wash only two to three times per week with soap BUT...splash my clean face with cold water five times a day. Pores are closed, blackheads and breakouts gone, rosacea gone, wrinkles reduced (well, I am 56!) Don't try without consulting a dermatologist, and if recommended-- be prepared for a miracle! Oh, and I now drink four liters of water per day for health and that helps my brain, skin, and overall health. Best wishes, bisous, besitos y abrazos!😽🕊❤

I came of make up age in the 80s so am no stranger to rainbow eyeshadow and turquoise mascara (YSL made a beautiful one) but I cannot understand why young women have adopted the “drag queen” look. In the UK it’s still super popular. As you say, not flattering and not alluring. I recently saw ‘Working Girl’ with Joan Cusack and thought eek! that was my 80s look but I was a teenager.

    • @deborahcurtis1385
      @deborahcurtis1385 ปีที่แล้ว +1

...but when you're in the flush of youth you CAN get away with it!
      It's the time of experimentation!
When you're young you're trying to differentiate yourself from your elders, so naturally you dig into whatever no longer works for them, and rock it. It's the same with flaunting your body; it's in peak condition at that age so naturally young people want to peacock it.
I think this is a natural progression, and while there can be too much kitsch, there also can be too much good taste. Fashion should't be taken too seriously, or else we are all one foot in the grave. As we get older we understand the rules, how they apply to us and when we can break the rules.

I am almost 67 and I have started to only apply eyeshadow and mascara on my eyes (nothing on the lower lids). I think that this looks much classier. I never use eyeliner. I find that this technique brings out the sparkle in my eyes. I rarely use foundation (only for going "out," and use only some cream blush for my daily touch of colour. I have noticed that very rich women (especially those who were born into money) do not make up their faces heavily, and use very minimal makeup, especially on the eyes. Good skin is everything! Remember those eyebrows, and be sure to fill them in before leaving the house. My mother, who was always very elegant, had thick, beautiful eyebrows all her life, regardless of what was in style, and always touched them up before going out. By the way, I have been using moisturizer with SPF since my 20's, long before it was fashionable. That is my base, not foundation.

Yes I have four things apply. I moisturizer that I feel is good for my skin, mascara eyeliner lip balm. I read somewhere that vitamin B6 is good for the skin and I remember growing up I didn't ever have a problem with acne. Then I found out that pork has vitamin B6 and we ate a lot of pork chops because that was a cheap cut of meat I thought maybe that's why. So sometimes it's not on the outside it could be from the inside .

I also mix my foundation with moisturiser so it goes on evenly and lightly and you can see the natural skin glow coming through. You can always touch up a few dark areas with corrector and a brush. Exfoliation is the trick as you age, if not done regularly the dead skin piles up and thickens wrinkles and you look tired and haggard.
I also have used titanium dioxide sunscreen which has adds a glow to your look. Also never neglect the neck and décolletage, spread some foundation mixed with sunscreen. The. neck is one area that shows age and women neglect it dreadfully.

How interesting. I remember makeup in the 1980s as very colorful and the 1990s as neutral. We do live in different countries and there were several exceptions. Subcultures are present in every generation.
I was drawn to the very neutral and minimalistic looks of the 1990s for the most part. My mom wore more neutral/natural and minimalistic makeup and I thought she looked amazing.
I’ve never done anything out there with it so I’ve been able to stay in my wheelhouse with some minor adjustments.
I only wore false eyelashes and contour for stage shows, be it dance or chorus, and Halloween costumes. A lot of makeup trends for the last several years have been pulled from the stage. It’s meant to look good and display features from quite a distance. Up close…. different story.
A lot of makeup in the 1980s in America was pulled from the stage as well.
I’ve never had any work done. Never say never but starting too young is not wise. Many young, beautiful women need to watch videos from plastic surgeons that show the signs of fillers - plastic surgery, which keeps increasing and becoming more obvious as you age.
I’m 47 and just starting to get some wrinkles that make me pause. Not my first wrinkles but wrinkles that slightly bother me. I doubt I’ll do anything about it but if I did it would be the bare minimum.

I love doing my own nails!! It took a while, but I finally have a routine that lasts about 7 days.
Start by cleaning and shaping nails, scrub with dish soap (dawn removes oils beautifully)
I use the Orly rubberized base coat, then 2 coats of my nail color, then top with Seche Vite quick dry top coat. Of course I have a detail brush to clean up around the nail between coats and I only use 100% acetone.

Frédérique, I have to agree on the thick makeup. A coat of foundation to cancel all of the colors of your skin, and then a pig load of makeup to add it back? Ridiculous! It may be well applied, even, but it’s still makeup and most people can tell. And if someone is wearing to much perfume, i can’t breathe. I have daughters, and I’ve always told them that folks shouldn’t be able to smell you four feet away. Keep doing what you do! I love it.

I personally don't like most perfumes, I have a very small selection of perfumes I like, but at the end of the day, you wear what smells good to you, not what others will like to smell on you.
