Personally, I’d like to see this film made into a world for “Kingdom Hearts”. I mean, could you imagine Sora, Donald, and Goofy shrunken to the size of mice like Ventus and Aqua did in the Cinderella world?
Music is really the best form of backwards time travel that exists now. I just close my eyes and let the images of childhood take over. A little respite from this cold, cruel, cynical world we live in right now.
Angel On My Shoulder was a favorite of mine. Shelby IMO got the short shrift when it came to fame, since she refused to leave her kids behind to tour and promote herself, but she made the right choice in the long run.
Without a doubt one of the most underrated Disney songs ever made considering that it sounds so beautiful and relaxing to listen to. Add to the fact that it was used in The Rescuers makes it even more iconic and unforgettable.
Aww me aswell 💧 I miss the good old days, now we are in the so called end times and it really breaks my heart to watch our world go to shit ,lots of luv sweetheart ❤️
This movie brings back so many memories with my mom when I was so young. So many nights. I would awake from night mares and I would cuddle with my mom falling asleep to this movie. I miss childhood times.
The sequel came out the year I was born, but this is one one I associate with my childhood. Beautiful movie, lovely songs...I just always enjoy watching it.
I love this song. Definitely my favorite from the film. As of this posting, I'm still a Bernard looking for his Bianca. I'm going on 37 and still a hopeless romantic.
Just sent my two weeks notice after realizing that I wasn't satisfied with my job. I walked to the beach, watched the ocean and played this song. A huge smile spread across my face as I let the waves and cool breeze take me to a better future with my new job. :)
As much as I am not a Complete Disney person, The Rescuers, 101 Dalmatians, and The Aristocats have a special place in my heart. Both original, kind of realistic, and such amazing music and characters.
Every time I hear this it makes me sad. When I was two I got taken away from my mom and lived with my aunt who was verbally abusive and I would sit and watch this movie and pretend they were gonna come rescue me soon and take me back to my mom. But when I turned 9 she passed away. So this song brings back a lot of memories... Some good some bad.
She was originally going to be in "Oliver & Company," living with her family. But then the Disney crew didn't think it would work, and replaced her with the similar "Jenny."
***** I don't understand how that wouldn't work. That would actually made the story more interesting if they included a character from a different movie in with another, oh well..
I agree; it would've been more fun with Penny. I believe Rufus would have been living with her too. Maybe Rufus could be a little jealous of Oliver or something, like Georgette? (both could live together, too!)
***** I was thinking Rufus might have passed away cause he was an old age during the movie, so maybe Penny would be a little older but still young at the same time in the need of a cat or something. I don't know I just wish they would have done something more with The Rescuers, seems like they just decided to forget about what more it could have been from what it is.
+wileyk209zback When I read that on _"Oliver and Company's"_ page on IMDB my first thought was a quote from Timmy Turner who once said about Judy Neutron (Jimmy Neutron's mom) in the _"Jimmy Timmy Power Hour"_, "She uses a J instead a T--Jeez what a jwit!"
Wow this song got me going back to 90's when my childhood days were the best days of my life!♡♡♡ i wish i could go back to re-live every moment. This song literally makes me feel so old and sad lol
If you're going out of your way to find a stupid reason to cry, listen to this song and let the tears flow, and a smile peak on your face. And yes, you are going to look and feel stupid. :)
I Watched this today after a decade or so not seeing it and all the feelings I had as a lil kid came rushing back felt good to feel that love this movie 😊
I remember very well this song...I heard it a lot of times when I was very little when my mom recorded this movie in Betamax format,. or she bought it? Each time I heard this song and that beautiful voice singing, I always thought in my mom. And I always loved this movie TuT.
My dvd of this movie is signed by Bob Newheart. I went to see one of his stand up shows a few years ago and he was nice enough to do a meet and greet afterwards, no VIP passes or anything.
Power B Well, I mentioned that I read Disney had planned a third film, but those plans were cancelled when Eva Gabor died and asked him if he knew what the third film would have been about. He said that was the first he'd heard of it, so I guess there was never anything concrete in the works or they probably would have told him.
Very interesting, I remember reading on...I think it was mental_floss...that the unmade The Rescuers Movie was retooled into Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. Unrelated bit of trivia: Madame Medusa was based on an ex-girlfriend one of the animators had at the time and Snoops was based on a highly annoying documentarian who poked his head around Disney studios to record how a Disney film was made. Moral of the story: Be careful around Disney animators, _they might just make _*_you_*_ the bad guy!_ *XD*
Power B And before they came up with Madame Medusa as a replacement, it was originally planned to be Cruella De Ville, and the little girl in Oliver And Company was originally planned to be Penny. If they'd actually done all that, it would have made for an interesting, if loose, trilogy.
For some reason, when Disneyland Records put out the soundtrack album to this movie, they did not bother to feature the full song; it only includes 0:20 - 1:10. The read-along book-and-audio set that was also released as a tie-in to the film also used that shortened version of the song, at the end. I think this, "Someone's Waiting For You," and "Do You Remember Me" from "Snoopy Come Home" are my favorite songs she performed.
A song made me very normal and to become different, I am not smiling and I don't want to make myself being so excited! If a song caused me something, I'll be nearly as my mouth was normally alert when I shouldn't be improper at all!
oh I do love this Song it seems to be alot of Children's Childhoods right here and I'm one of them but this was after I seen the Sequel 1st but I do like the 1st Movie too because if we didn't have this we wouldn't have a Sequel more than 10 Years Later but anyway this Song is still Beautiful too!
When I was a kid watching this on VHS, I thought this was a Carpenters knockoff (even though I only knowledge of them was Tommy Boy) but then read the credits and realized I was wrong. But yeah LOVED this song from this movie
so many people feel the same thing for this while still being such a very unique and different feeling for every person listening and so if you guys haven't heard it you should check out Broken Social Scene-Pacific Theme One night it came on when my girlfriends ipod was on shuffle (she just got it from the library) and we both had a very emotional moment over how nostalgic it made us feel and how completely similar to this song it is, while still not actually copying it. just fucking check it out jesus
“Sure wish we’d of taken the train” Man! This takes me back to a wonderful time of my childhood.
We don't see much love for this movie or the songs. Underrated film and soundtrack, and this film is 40 years old, this year.
Personally, I’d like to see this film made into a world for “Kingdom Hearts”. I mean, could you imagine Sora, Donald, and Goofy shrunken to the size of mice like Ventus and Aqua did in the Cinderella world?
@321SPONGEBOLT yup! 👍🏾
@@321SPONGEBOLT I wouldn't be surprised if they were in that world in kingdom hearts 4.
This movie is so special and so is the sequel!
I love this song and the aesthetic of this movie. ^^
the rescuers are such an underrated movie. 😔
Indeed it is
ikr. I was hoping that they continue after 2.
Music is really the best form of backwards time travel that exists now. I just close my eyes and let the images of childhood take over. A little respite from this cold, cruel, cynical world we live in right now.
We especially need that kind of relief after last year.
I hear you! Damn it! I wish I could just go back in time and be a kid again.
I never thought of music that way before, but you're so right.
This woman had the most beautiful voice ✨
Shelby Flint look for her other songs are amazingly beautiful
True words

Worthy of an Oscar!
This movie was way too underrated
Alot of those old Disney films are underrated
I used to find it so hard to watch this movie, Penny's story line would always make me cry.
Aww me aswell 💧 I miss the good old days, now we are in the so called end times and it really breaks my heart to watch our world go to shit ,lots of luv sweetheart ❤️
Not me, I'm 13 yrs. of age, I've seen this movie during my early childhood, and didn't shed a single tear.

@Machine Ambassador Disney is notorious for inadequacy in follow up films. I liked it, but not as much as the first.
I love this song. Definitely my favorite from the film. As of this posting, I'm still a Bernard looking for his Bianca. I'm going on 37 and still a hopeless romantic.
Hope u find them :)
@@Top547- I hope I find her too.
There's Bianca's out there too who know this song.

This song is so beautiful it always brings a tear to my eye....Disney always knows how to make us feel so many emotions.
I used to watch this film every day, hearing this song makes me cry now :')
How can dislikers hate a perfectly well made song like this?! 😡
I know right. I get all goosebumps hearing this song
I’m 32 years old and still love the rescuers to this day, such a great and underrated movie ☺️
One of the best songs from Disney. :-)
One of the best childhood movies.
Wow.... I remember watching this movie hundreds of times when this song would come on I'd always sing along! Nostalgia's hitting hard
Sad to think we never seen Penny again after that movie, but at least I know she is happy where she is now =]
