I really like the long videos; I watch a little at a time. Also, what does it say about our society that we can only watch 10 minute videos? We need to work on our focus and attention. Thank you for your hard work!

The awesome thing with Mel’s videos is you can actually listen and don’t need to watch. So you can do two things at once to get past the 10 min mark. 😊

I don’t mind longer videos, I walk and listen or drive to work. Thank you Mel. All your tips are simple and super helpful. Many things you talk about I am aware of but packaging and presenting them the way you do really works for me - reminds, reinforces, educates and motivates. Big thank you for sharing your successes as well as failures. We Lear from both. Too many parole must talk about their successes.

True story if my phone is on at night and I look at TH-cam my dog will leave my bed. He can't sleep if I am strolling through my phone. Even the dog understands this concept.

    • @bodilveibaek
      @bodilveibaek 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Phone has slept in the livingroom for years. Basically after a highschool science experiment here in Denmark went viral:
Two trays of identical Danish cress were sown and put in the windows of two identical side by side bedrooms facing the same garden. Watered and treated exactly the same, except leaving a phone next to one of them every night for a month.
By comparison, the one with no phone was fine and green, while the one with the phone next to it was small and wilted.
It would interesting to know what the exact science at work here is, but my phone has been banned from the bedroom ever since, and my sleep is significantly better for it, no matter the reason.

I’m going to bed without my phone close to me tonight. And I made 3 reminders for tomorrow starting out with 5,4,3,2,1 and one post it note simply just says: Do it anyway! I’m going through a low energy time now and I therefore procrastinate on things I prefer to have done at home, like making all my flat surfaces clean from things. Not hard to do, but have to count myself in tomorrow to complete those tasks. 5,4,3,2,1 LAUNCH declutter project. 😁 And 333 wardrobe for the summer 😄 Wuhu! 🎉

I have attempted to meditate many times in my life and prior to this CD the only success I've experienced is with live guided meditation. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq This is the first CD I've used that cuts through my unmedicated ADHD and enables me to truly relax and experience a quiet and energizing interval. The instructors voice is very soothing and pleasant to listen to. I am easily able to sit successfully through the entire CD, and for quite some time after. I cannot adequately express how tremendously helpful this CD has been on my spiritual journey!! Two thumbs up and 10 stars!

I'm so sorry to hear this. Please don't believe things that aren't true about yourself or about anything. Always get to the truth. Let go of all the lies. You are valuable.
If you can, you might want to go "no contact" with them. If you can't block them from your life, you could "grey rock" them. Look this up. People who hurt others like that might be narcissists and the more you figure out what they did to you, the stronger you may become. Look up narcissism and gaslighting. (Just a hunch.)
I strongly suggest you find and surround yourself with people who love and support you. Avoid people who hurt you.
I hope you rise up and say, "NO MORE!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!" Hope you can find a really good counselor.
My Mel-like hack is to say in my brain, "Block you.“ It's kind of like thinking "I reject your abuse. Back off!" and I feel stronger.
May God bless and protect you.

Hey Mel! I use a sunrise alarm clock. I was beginning to learn how the sound of the blaring alarm would disturb you and jolt you into being awake. I learned how disturbing that can be to your sleep and to the beginning of your day. The sunrise alarm clock has become paramount in my peaceful morning waking routine. I'm just sharing my thoughts with you. I'm not sure if you've tried it. But it certainly something to look into as an alarm clock replacement. Love you love everything about you I listen to you every single day.

Thank you for you and your husband being SO candid. Your husband, I must say, is an extremely BRAVE. I TOTALLY appreciate the fact that he can stand up and be himself in front of other men. Thank you for HELPING men to understand life better. Men, whether we like it or not, ARE OUR LEADERS. I actually believe that women would respond better to a man who is knowledgeable in this area. Now if you can teach them to be more loving when they are passing on information to the ladies, that would make the whole world a much nicer place. Everything you are saying is right on the money and I know this from experience. My problem is once I've got a good routine going , I feel so confident that I think "I will be ok if I skip a day or two." Consistency..it is a pattern I have developed over the course of a lifetime. I am consistently INCONSISTENT. How do I break that routine?

      But, like...who cares?
Isn't anybody entitled to their opinion?
Couldn't he or she be wanting to give Mel Robbins a perfectly legitimate piece of advice, without collecting anyone's hate?
Maybe even 20 hours straight of "motivation" podcast wouldn't help you understand what tolerance and really love are about. Even the smallest comment like yours shows it immediately.
I mean, you could think you'd understand. But after 1 year, 6 months, 2 weeks or even 5 minutes, you would sabotage every effort and be back to you "old self", since you didn't get the message deeply enough.

She could post both 3 hr long videos and 20 minute videos. Something for everyone. It doesn’t have to be either/or. Yes, we are all entitled to have our preferences as we are not all the same, thank goodness. Let’s not criticize someone for expressing his opinion in a gracious way. You can’t tell someone how they should listen and learn. It’s a very individual matter.

My mom is 68 and addicted to her phone. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, boom, she's on FB. I have trained myself to NEVER look at my phone until my alarm goes off. I always give myself 7 hours of laying in bed where I may or may not actually sleep. I figure, I'll sleep when I'm dead.

Not enough and other limiting beliefs-sure they are habits but d call them “conditioning”. Still something we can work on changing, and need to. Calling it a habit maybe makes it lighter and easier to imagine changing.
