For everyone saying she didn’t tell them a lot etc., we don’t know what was cut from the final edit, she might have spoken to them for half hour and explained everything, answering other questions but they decided to cut it out.
The whole point of the show is they are not allowed any update on the outside world. It’s not something that happens in the show. So when they sit you all down to give you an update on the situation of the world, you might panic a little.
When your locked in a building essentially with no contact in the outside world and hear about a deadly virus spreading across the world I imagine you'd be stressed lol

This is so familiar to me because I was in the psychiatric hospital when covid started spreading. We felt safe there because we were in isolation, but it felt so powerless at the same time because we couldn’t see our families or the outside world. We ended up getting evacuated to isolate with our families and make space for covid patients

I was in US Army Basic Combat Training from January to March. I had very minimal contact with the outside world. I had no idea what covid-19 was until the day before Family Day. The night before Family Day, every trainee was excited and cleaning everything to impress their families. Then that night, our Drill Sergeants announced that Family Day is cancelled. We were only allowed to see our families on Graduation Day for 90 minutes. Almost everyone was depressed and crying. It was awful.
Watching this hit me hard. Juat imagining not being able to see the news unfold over weeks (or days) but getting it all at once would kill me. I won't lie, the man tears were flowing

Others warned her to be extra cautious if she was gonna travel. Meanwhile I shared a story to her how the first Covid-19 fatality outside China happened. A few hours later she replied to me saying she had her flight cancelled. Sometimes I just think about that. What if I didn't make her slightly paranoid with the story I told her? What if she didn't listen to our warnings? She could've went to Italy and got infected, or worse. For once I was glad that I was the type to read comments and reply whenever I could. I felt like I helped out from the other side of the world, and that feeling is kinda awesome tbh.
They didn’t tell them the extent of what’s going on that’s why they’re not freaking out. Tell them that people are being forced to be home, people have been laid off, you can only leave for essentials, schools and colleges are shut down, graduations and proms will not happen, tell them that weddings have canceled, the stock market has plummeted. Tell them that kids went on spring break in Miami and it’s been spreading like wild fire in the United States. They should have been absolutely honest with them.
No they shouldn’t. What would that have solved? They don’t need to be locked up in there knowing the details when they can’t do a thing about it. They told them exactly what they need to know.
If they dumped all of that on them at once after being so isolated they would be too overwhelmed. That is likely why they avoided telling them more then they did prior to this.
I remember when I first saw this. It was when covid was just starting and people weren’t laughing anymore. It was so scary. Thank god things have gotten better.

I remember back before Covid-19 was a pandemic there was this lady in the comment section of a video about Milan cancelling fashion week or something like that asking if it was safe to travel to Italy. Others warned her to be extra cautious if she was gonna travel. Meanwhile I shared a story to her how the first Covid-19 fatality outside China happened. A few hours later she replied to me saying she had her flight cancelled.
Sometimes I just think about that. What if I didn't make her slightly paranoid with the story I told her? What if she didn't listen to our warnings? She could've went to Italy and got infected, or worse. For once I was glad that I was the type to read comments and reply whenever I could. I felt like I helped out from the other side of the world, and that feeling is kinda awesome tbh.

They were ahead of the game when we all had to lockdown. What an amazing clip to watch back to see how crazy things were going to become.
They didn’t tell them the extent of what’s going on that’s why they’re not freaking out. Tell them that people are being forced to be home, people have been laid off, you can only leave for essentials, schools and colleges are shut down, graduations and proms will not happen, tell them that weddings have canceled, the stock market has plummeted. Tell them that kids went on spring break in Miami and it’s been spreading like wild fire in the United States. They should have been absolutely honest with them.

No they shouldn’t. What would that have solved? They don’t need to be locked up in there knowing the details when they can’t do a thing about it. They told them exactly what they need to know.
If they dumped all of that on them at once after being so isolated they would be too overwhelmed. That is likely why they avoided telling them more then they did prior to this.
I remember when I first saw this. It was when covid was just starting and people weren’t laughing anymore. It was so scary. Thank god things have gotten better.
I don't know why but this touched me in ways I haven't felt since this all started. I have been in a bit of shock, of course, but this made me cry. Hugs to all.

im surprised they reacted this way. my first reaction would be disbelief and that this is like a movie. But I wouldn't cry right away.
same I would laugh thinking it was a windup. We all have had a chance to start getting our heads around it and adapt to the new normal of not being able to see our families, keeping 6 feet apart, worrying about food shortages, worrying about our or healthcare systems, wondering what happens next when our leaders test positive... I can't imagine what these guys are feeling right now. They should have been told further information - that there are cases in canada, that people are in quarantine.... I know if I was there and someone causally dropped 'oh by the way there's a global pandemic' I'd be having visions of the zombie apocalypse where everyone is dying. So far it is terrible, it is hard and it is frightening but when you're in it and you know your family is ok, your neighbour is ok, your friends are ok it makes it a little easier to process and have some level of perspective that it isn't end times just yet.

I suddenly just got like a pang of fear and like tears welted in my eyes.
