    Nice job and well explained step by step. I actually have my 2016 GMC at the dealership getting done now. My truck shutdown on me and I changed the fuel filter but couldn't get it to start back up, so the dealership said the injector pump had gone out. Wish you was in my town! Thanks

    Did you ever check the old pump to see if there were metal shavings? I had same issue. Took a chance and paid to only have the the pump replaced. Got it home. Had an error code. Had to replace 1 injector. Only one I would have been able to get to. Drivers side front one. Could access it after removing fender well. Another error code. Replaced rail return pressure regulator. Didn't have the computer to put the new injector # in. I heard it was for some kind of bias. All good now. Paid 2500 for new pump and install. Parts only cost for rest. Bought from mdi in Dallas. New duramax use Denso now. Personally, I would add lift pump for piece of mind. Big pain in rear. That was a lot of work you had to do. Chevrolet would charge up to 9k. They would also drain and flush fuel tank. The shop that replaced the pump wouldn't provide warranty because I didn't want them to do all you did. He said there were shavings but screen in tact so I risked it. Great video.

    Pro tip you can get that bolt behind the water line without pulling powersteering bracket you just use a swivel ratchet wrench

    I know very little I did my thermostat on my 2011 lml and that was a sort of scary project for me. From what I hear the cp4s are doomed to fail, not if but when. The best route is to do a cp3 conversation. That's number one on my list (when I can afford it) wish I had the stones to do it myself. Awesome video man , although it may give me a false sense of my abilities watching how easy you make it look 👍👍

      It was intimidating at first it just takes time. To disassemble and remember where bolts and wiring snaps back together. Other than that this video gives you the basics. There are no tuning required kits now so drop in cp3 without recalibration and no timing of the pump. Great video and good job.

    • @tommyschulte2577
      @tommyschulte2577 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oldblue101rf if I understand what you said. You can just put the cp3 in without lining up the dots? And no recalibration? Is that right? Just curious. I think I want to convert mine over... right now I have an lml with cp4 200,000 miles.

    also i did the same job with new 3" down pipe and up pipe upgrade and a cp3 conversion and added a lift pump. the cp4 will fail and there is no fix for its failure. you can add a lift pump and extend its life span but tha'ts about it.

    • @AutomedicGarage
      @AutomedicGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For 1 they come as a kit and with the cp4, rails, return, supply lines and injectors. You could try flushing, if flushed correctly it would achieve the same results, however I don’t want to risk any contamination nor want a return job. Thanks for watching.

      It's like sand blasting. You can do a great job but sand will always be somewhere in any complicated part. ANY metal debris will wipe out the system again.

      I use autoenginuity for all my bidirectional scanning needs. Under “special functions” there’s a drop down for injector programming and I just enter in the numbers on the tops of each injector. The thing to remember is you have to know what each one in for each cylinder number to program correctly.

      @@chrismathewsmerriman2144 I never understood that myself. Why can't they just be flushed out. Maybe the time and expense flushing costs about the same as replacing. Seems like someone could make a finer fuel filter also to stop anything from the tank going past the filter and stop the nonsense of changing fuel lines and cleaning the tank.

    no tools needed to remove the injectors. give them a slight twist and then twist back and forth with a light pull at the same time they will come right out. if you end up having to reuse you don't ruin the orings
