Thanks for the review. Not many around for this cam. I specifically returned the wireless ones and bought a few of these. Would rather pay an electrician to wire these in the roof than having to charge the batteries every month. Big bonus that you can continuously record also. Love these cams.

@@Ljavids2 high traffic areas detects more motion. Constantly looking at footage, live and recorded. Not many people go the distance. I specifically got an electrician to fit these and connected to the main power. Set and forget. Regardless, I prefer the constant recording.
i have a eufy doorbell here at home and 3 indoor cameras located in our vacation home in another city far away. It all works very well with the eufy android app. i'm looking forward to getting a few outdoor cameras on both of our houses. I wonder if someone cuts the cable if the camera will at least keep recording for a minute. :)

Just got the 1080p version for my dad.
It does not come with an SD card like video seems to imply. Or at least if it used to, it doesn’t anymore. Either way, I think he’ll be satisfied with it and I’m off to the store to find one. Good review!

Great video Adam! Can't help but feel that not including a weatherproof USB is a bit of an oversight here - for an outdoor camera, you'd want the option for everything to be weatherproofed as much as possible.
Question - how responsive are the Eufy Pro outdoor wireless cameras? I've always been put off wireless cameras because of a slow response time, but would be open to experimenting with them again if they responded quickly!
HeyTechi, thanks for your comment. Not having a weatherproof USB adapter is frustrating and it’s often hard to hide the wire inside or cover it. I have the 2C’s and they are very quick and responsive. You’ll need strong WiFi coverage where you want your camera at, that’s the biggest thing. Wired camera is the best for reliability but often not practical or very difficult to run cables in some homes. Thanks for watching! 😊

Just got this unit and agree, it's almost perfect. Installed in my garage "wooden portal" overlooking the 2 car driveway. Drilled a hole through the portal (above the actual door) and fed the cord/usb adapter through to a plug inside my garage. The "almost" part is: I'd like to be able to have more levels of "sensitivity" rather than just 4(?) settings. Takes some fiddling to get it right (so it's not activated when someone walks by on the sidewalk, rather only if they actually enter the driveway).
NOTE: it only runs on 2G home wifi (NOT 5G). Although 5G is faster, 2G has greater coverage (distance wise). Important if your router/modem signal does not penetrate through bricks, drywall etc to reach the camera location.
Really glad I got this though, what with all the catalytic thefts from vehicles that is on the uptick now.

Ours was "perfect" when we first put it up 3 years ago. Slowly became worse, and now it's worthless.

Great video. I’ve been considering picking up some outdoor cameras for our house. Comparing the Eufy S40 or this wired C24. Would you recommend one over the other?
I’m reviewing the s40 soon so can’t say for sure yet but depends if you’d rather have a wireless (not 24/7 recording) or wired (24/7 recording) that’s the biggest different initially. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video mate, this actually sealed the deal with me buying one of these for the front of my home. One question, I have continuous recording on. But am only able to see events in the mobile app. Is there a setting or menu I'm missing? Thanks again

@@AdamsTechLife Wow! In review my question was way vague. When playing back recorded videos, I don’t have the scroll bar to easily search for a certain event. In your video. The scroll bar was highlighted to indicate when it was human motion versus just maybe the leaves in a tree. Thank you for taking the time to reply to previous question. Honestly I would not have taken to the time on such a vague question. And my attempt this time may be way too long and just confusing. If so just let it go😃🤷🏻♂️. Thanx

Nicely done! I'm looking for a camera to replace 4-year-old Nest outdoor cameras to eliminate the subscription service fee and improve video image quality. So, I've been running some subjective testing of Eufy C24 and Wyze CAM3 cameras because both have higher video resolution, and do, in fact, have better usable image clarity. A feature Wyze has that Eufy does not is 'vehicle' detection, which in my opinion is the 2nd best means for reducing/focusing event detection. I do like Eufy's app usability much more than Wyze, but Nest is better than both competitors, having great phone / tablet AND PC based viewers. Sound quality on Eufy is much, much better than Wyze, which I find is horrible, but, my Nest camera microphone sensitivity will pick up voices more than 30ft away. So, at this point there's no clear winner to justify replacing Nest. If I didn't already own the Nest cameras, I'd likely go with Eufy C24.

for the live streaming connection, the homebase eufy cams vs solo cams, which of them will have better connections? cause the wyze cams i have right now, lagging alot

Installing that camera inside your window pointing out could work with strong outdoor lighting. This placement would solve all of the foreseeable problems with it. I’m looking to set up some like this in addition to my existing outdoor cameras. Eufy is so inexpensive and the all in one set up looks flawless. Could you possibly try positioning the camera pointing out of a window?
Eufy is a good brand. Window would only work without night vision, otherwise the night vision will have a huge white spot on the live stream. The ecobee is great for viewing outdoors, I’ve made a video on how that looks. Thanks for watching! 😊

This might be a stupid question but how can you watch recorded video in eufy app if it stores recorded video locally in SD card? Is it only available if you pay for cloud storage subscription? If it’s available without subscription how long does a video stay accessible in the app for?
You can view the playback of the sd card in the Eufy app. it's only place to view the footage from the micro sd card :)
Hello, i am willing to buy this product. Right now i have a eufy doorbel and a homebase 2. I red that u can’t connect the camera to the homebase. I want to ask, what is the reach in meters that it detect a movement. One more thing, if it detected a movement it starts recording on the micro sd. Is it possible to wipe the storage through the app? So u don’t have to replace the sd card each time? Thanks a lot!!’
i don't know the exact meters but it's a fairly far distance and yes the micro sd card can be wiped from the eufy app
What's up with the pixilation at the top of the picture? I hope by doesn't do that when I get it and mount it, but I'm thinking it will. Does it upper right corner with night vision. I'm hoping it happened somehow when you transferred it. Great review.

This is the only Eufy wired outdoor camera that I know of that will record 24x7x365. Their wireless versions only record when motion is activated.

I am waiting for Reolink E1 outdoor camera since I need wired power. Also reo can rotate 360. If reo didn't launch E1 then Eufy c24 is good option

Hi, I’m thinking of ordering this camera, but I’m confused - why do I need a wireless connection if it’s a wired camera?
I’m currently returning a different brand (wireless) lightbulb style camera because I was unable to add that device to my WiFi. It requires a 2.4 HTZ connection and my Xfinity has that and the 5 G HTZ , but doesn’t allow to to select one over the other. This camera also mentions it requires a 2.4 connection.
Fortunately my outdoor patio has a roof and the outlet has a plastic covered box over it.

Questions: I'm assuming that the video stored on the SD card is only accessible if you're on the same physical Wifi network, correct? IOW, you can't view it from outside your home? If so, would getting the cloud storage allow me to view videos from outside my home network?
I played with it tonight and answered my own question. It seems you can do pretty much anything over the cell data network that you can do over WiFi. This is a pleasant surprise. Apparently the camera is it’s own server and is exposed to the outside. Cool!

While at home, if the internet is down, but the phone and camera are connected in the same wireless network, will I still be able to review the videos. Or the videos exclusive use the internet to watch and transfer. I wonder if I need to download a 2 day recording if I could do it without using the internet or just playing the video on the computer.
Internet is needed to stream/view the footage. Also, how is the phone and camera still connected if the internet is down?

You can probably find a flat cable on amazon, but you’ll have to be careful not to smash the cord between the window seal. If you’re worried about that, a wireless camera may be a better choice. Thanks for watching! 😊

I was debating between this and the video doorbell. I did just purchase the eufy 2c pro cam kit for cyber deals and hope I made the right choice. I will be new to eufy. Love your videos. Hope from what I read that eufy fixed or in the process of fixing the hacking issues.

you're supposed to use the screw in base with the metal groove for the cable, that way it cannot be stolen from your front porch without the burglar having a screwdriver with them.

Honest this camera is pretty perfect my only complaint is not being able to use a bigger sd card and not being able to record 24/7 at 2k besides that it’s perfect

I am leaning to buy this camera. However, I read online that Eufy's app display ads and that is deterring me from buying it. I don't want security app showing ads and thus delay the viewing on camera. Is there an option on the app to turn off the ads?
I can confirm that Eufy and other smart home companies have in app ads.
@@AdamsTechLife Do these ads appear on home page on loading the app for Eufy? I am just trying figure if that means I have close the ad in order to proceed or these ads in Eufy are in a separate tab. Currently, I have Wyze app and on loading the app I can straight to cameras page without any ads.
Ads are minimal, it'll have the splash screen or an ad for the same length of time. Very minimal effect. Camera is overly sensitive to movement and cannot be reduced.

I would say if you have Battery based cameras, you should have at least one of these as it will record 24/7 as no battery cameras that I know of will do that. I have 3 of these, 2 S330's (Battery) and the floodlight cam 2 pro... The continuous Recording came in handy as the local police were looking for a vehicle that was spotted heading towards our neighborhood... The police saw my cameras and stopped to ask if I could check the footage... now I have the streets around my house not included in my motion zones of the battery cams as to avoid a lot of unwanted alerts... but I searched through the C24's 24/7 recordings, and found the car they were looking for. Now they had a make and model and a partial license plate... The Guy was caught a few hours later. I also use the feeds from the c24's for my home assistant dashboard...

TBH you could open up the Pan/Tilt camera waterproof yourself if you really wanted. You'd need to remove the speaker, plug the holes with silicone/acrylate and coat the PCB in conformal coating.

I heard that all Eufy devices can only work if you have 2 separate bands, 2.4g and 5g, at home. IF you have a mesh network that combines 2.4g and 5g into one SSID then their devices will not work. True ? Anyone ?

If you use a eufy home base(base station) and if it is connected to your router via Ethernet then you won't have issues, because all your eufy devices that require a base station to function "only" talk to the base station, not the router. I found a different brand camera that works without any base station and the seller specifically says : "Please don't choose the two-in-one when setting up the router, you must name 2.4 and 5g separately." Thoughts ?

Recordings get saved on the device (camera), then you need to download the videos if you want them on your phone. Stolen camera, no recordings.

It doesn't do continuous recording in 2k, only 1080P.. thats a dissapointment. They should of let us customers choose that option. And of course increase the recording capacity to 256gb.

Thanks for the review but this camera won't be for us. The wired alone is the breaker on this on, especially since there is the not water proof and such a short cable. We have eight wired cameras with 60 and 100 foot wires, with a DVR.
We have four, soon to be six, of the eufy 2c and one 2cpro. Yes they do need to be charged but we took care of that problem by installing solar panels on each camera. Even with cloudy days cameras stay charged. The camera that gets the most motion detections is usually at 95% all the time but we expected that as there are lots of vehicle detections with all motions enabled.
The wired cameras are 7 on the house and one in a tree. The eufy cameras are, at this point, 2 in distant trees, 3 on the house. These are place so a tall ladder is needed to reach them. The ones in trees have a shelf built for better weather protection. The new ones coming will be one on the house and one on a tool storage shed. Wifi reach isn't a problem as I meshed the wifi out to 6000 feet which can be extended but not really needed as our wifi actually now reaches well beyond our half acre.

Little annoying they don't make a wired outdoor camera that has 24/7 _WITH_ HomeKit.
The only HomeKit workable solution is to put an indoor camera outside. What a chore.

That's why this camera is a non-starter for me: the stored video on the SD card is insecure unless you subscribe to Eufy cloud storage. Also this camera does not connect to Eufy Home Base 2, like it's battery cameras, so you can't manage schedules and rules in the Home Base. I think Eufy made a mistake with this camera, it is NOT the wired outdoor camera most of us Eufy customers wanted. And at $99 compared to the $25 Wyze V3, it's night vision is not near as good as Wyze.

wireless cameras do not have continuous 24/7 recording. you would be at the mercy of failed motion detections without having redundant coverage with a wired camera.
Wired cameras record locally to the micro sd since they are being continually powered. Wireless can’t do 24/7
