This is the second home in which th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

I find it lags and sometimes doesn’t pick up people walking up to door. Door bell battery lasts 3 weeks and we don’t have busy footfall at all.
Sound and video is very good

Good updates! I've also had one for about a year, but eventually decided to switch to a Wyze Doorbell due to the fact that it simply does terrible at night and doesn't notify you when someone appears and also the AI thinks a plant or a chair needs us notified at times.

I have the wired one and now with the updates the company is pushing so people buys storage. All my door bell storages now is 5 videos of 19 seconds each . When it used to save about a whole day with 3 minutes max. I bought mine about 2 1/2 years ago and it’s been an ok but not so great experience ( video quality ,delay picking up sensor or responding to door ) I have a good wifi signal too.

Great review and information. I have 2 Eufy cameras so it made sense for me to get this add on 2k doorbell. My experience with batter life (for my cameras) is slightly different. I'm getting 12 months out of the front camera and up to 16 months from the back camera. They are around 2 years old. I haven't installed my Eufy 2k Doorbell so I'm interested to see how the battery lasts.

Thanks for the video. I'm currently on my 2nd ring doorbell in 2 1/2 years and it's already needing to be recharged weekly and doesn't even charge to 100% anymore so I'm thinking it's time to move on. I have the eufy smart lock so I figured pairing it with this might be good. Just can't decide if the 2k doorbell ($139) is worth the extra money over the 1080p ($85)

Yes, it does record on the app, if you use an SD card. The card goes on the Inside ringer unit, so if someone takes your doorbell, at least they won't get your recordings ! Also, No Fees !
I use a 64 gb card, but I believe it can take a 128gb as well. Video settings allow several options, I leave mine on auto, with the night led and like it better than arlo or hikam. The alarm audio is about a 2 second delay, but it definately alerts you if you want. Only had it a few days, but very pleased with this unit so far.

@@TechOdyssey the tool? I literally have this doorbell camera bro.. it’s a pin hole… any pin, or safety pin, piece of small wire.. anything can be inserted to release the mechanism.. that’s why I said what I said! I have a security camera aimed that direction also so if mine ever got stolen it would be recorded on another cam but still they are simple to steal.. ring is the same way I believe .. just a pin hole to release it

Bestbuy appears to have an exclusive Eufy 2k wired doorbell that records continuous video locally to 32gb onboard. It includes a chime, and gives you about 5 days, zero worries about delayed triggers, no subscription, no remote homebase needed. Model E82021F2 (Fellow Slickdeal'r since Aug 03')

I doubt if anyone would get 60 days with this, regardless of how not-so-busy the traffic surrounding it might be, talk more of 180 days. I have one (got it 2021) and from day 1, it takes long to load to the interface to see the person pressing the bell and by the time it finally shows, the person has gone into their car. This is my experience with it. My internet bandwidth isn't the issue, neither is the homebase far from the router. It's the app. You can hardly use it to quickly respond to any doorbell press. It's a miss.
The battery only last average of 27 days now. Meanwhile, my doorbell is not facing a busy road but just a wall. To tell you how not so busy my place is, it may not record anything more than 2 times in a day due to the fact that no one comes around that place and it's not facing a busy road. It also wouldn't sense people sometimes even when you're closer.
I am considering changing it to another brand with good AI and battery.

I have this eufy door video and home base 2 for a year. My experience is: Pro: easy wireless installation, no hard wire,
Con: slow response for video intercom unacceptable, use hard wire as battery last only short period, video need reset regularly, unreliable.
I have superfast internet connection at home.

OK I’ve got one up you. Two years, and the damn microphone goes dead. Eufy says that’s not a warranty item because it’s not under their one-year warranty bullshit. So I have a doorbell that can’t hear anything,,, I can still get video and record no audio

    • @TechOdyssey
      @TechOdyssey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

That stinks. Sorry to hear that. That can happen with any product after the 12 month warranty runs out though. I don't think this is a rampant issue with eufy but very unfortunate for sure.

I know this video is two years old, but I'm thinking about buying this. I tried an Oasu, and I wasn't happy about the WiFi signal percentage, as I am on the second floor of the house, and I could only get 42-46% of WiFi signal, which created a delay in the time between when someone pushes the button, and the time the chime rang. I even tried a WiFi extender, and still only got 42-46% of signal. So, my question is how good is the signal detection? Does the app tell you that information?

They’re all subscription free, the particular one in the video has a home base with 16gb of storage that stays inside the house. But there’s also a version that does support a sd card.

Our Eufy doorbell 2K wired worked for 11 months spotlessly, and then from nowhere doorbell goes offline daily! Router, modem are the same, then cam goes online by itself. After couple hrs it goes offline, and on and on. Finally, it is permamently offline, Power reset, doorbell reset, didn't help to bring cam online. Now cam doesn't connect to internet at all. Eufy engineers keep saying router cause the problem because router is dual bend 2.4 and 5.0. I say, the doorbell is connected to 2.4 GHz bend only, and everything worked fine for 11 months. Indoor cam also is offline! I have figured out, crossed finger, indoor cam is back online after I have pulled micro card out! Indoor cam worked for 2 months spotlessly before problem started.
