    Freakin' awesome review. Thanks for taking the time to do such a detailed review. One big reason I like this is the instruction booklet has ZERO info about all the settings as detailed in this vid. Basically, the booklet says: insert the SD card, download the app and plug it in. This vid is a must-see instruction list.

    I'm new to security cams. After poring over numerous reviews I settled on the Eufy Cam Pro and I'm very happy with it so far. Easy to setup and use. Good job on the video, it's a very good overview of the cam.

    I recently bought this and it's fantastic. I just did a review on the site I bought it from and here is a copy/paste of that for anyone that wants this extra info:
    >The power cable length isn't mentioned here but it's 20ft. If it's too short (depending on where you put it) just extend it with an extension cable as that's the best method. If you make a hole in a wall (like I did) for it you will need to make it about 12mm to fit the micro usb connector through. The cable itself is 4mm in width. Then seal up with putty or something once it's run through. If you do this, leave a little slack on the outside in case you ever want to move it!
    >The quality is pretty decent, not the absolute best but should be good enough for most people in home use as long as it's not looking too far away. Mine is about 10m from the central focus point and sees details just fine.
    >The motion detection works great. Haven't had any false triggers yet, it's only triggered on spotting people (us while testing. Have it set to human only). The car coming up/down drive didn't trigger it, bugs didn't, nor has any vehicle on the road triggered it, day or night.
    >The night vision is good but as I found out after first night, if your mounting on a wall and you have white walls, keep them out of view of the camera (the part that is right next to the camera at least) otherwise the night vision will see it very bright and make the rest of the image too dark as it messes with the exposure.
    >You can use continuous recording, which I would recommend getting at least a 64gb micro sd card if you're going to use that. Approx values on how much it will store: 32gb - 3 days, 64gb - 6 days, 128gb - 12 days. Continuous recording is just in 1080p to maximise storage. It will still detect motion and notify you though which is good.
    >Mount it high, as the camera is only attached magnetically to the base, so any unwanted people can't reach it.
    >Spotlight is good but depends on how far away from focal point the camera is. You can set schedule, or have it auto come on with motion but if it does, the camera will switch to colour mode instead of night vision and if it isn't enough light you won't see much. The alarm is loud should you want to use that. The speaking through camera comes out well but is a bit laggy and cuts off the voice sometimes.
    Hope that can help you.

      Nice review. I’m debating between the c24 and the L40. Idk which one to go with between the 2.

    • @surgemas
      @surgemas ปีที่แล้ว

      The camera is overly sensitive. I don't know what your situation is, but a headlight from up the road will trigger it. A passing car will trigger it, and the funny thing is that the camera is not pointed at the street. Shaking leaves on my tree will trigger it. A small child walking will trigger the motion notification, but the child will NOT trigger a "human" notification. I have the setting at it's very lowest, and the results are always the same. Even rain will trigger it. So is this camera something to consider? Make sure you can return it after trying it!

    • @CreedBrattonTheOffice
      @CreedBrattonTheOffice ปีที่แล้ว

      @@surgemas Well either yours is faulty or you didn't set it up right. I've had mine for a few months now and can count on my hand how many false triggers there have been, and they've only happened at night in the night vision. It's also never missed a person. Mine is quite high up looking down towards a crossing point of our drive. It can see the neighbours house below and the road to the right. You need to make sure you also set the detection area if you haven't. Mine is also on the default medium sensitivity. Of course a lot of people are going away from Eufy right now due to the supposed scandal but I couldn't care less about it.

    Very impressive! Because it is always "ON" the response time is super quick, the 15fps at night looks pretty good, and audio is good. The overall picture quality is very good. In one week we had in our neighborhood 1 attempted catalytic converter theft and one theft of a catalytic converter. In front of the same neighbor's house! My wired lorex couldn't pick up the thieves because the cars were going to fast and my Reolink eco which is on a street sign was too slow to pick up the bad guys. I am convinced something powered needs to be right next to the street to identify the bad guys. This might be a home run. Thanks again for everything!

    Just grabbed one of these cameras. Just what I was looking for. I have it facing our condo's parking lot which has a decent amount of lighting. Was worried it wouldn't go into night mode and then the spot wouldn't activate with motion. The good news is since its not a starlight sensor it does go into night mode (wyze v3 does not) and the spot light does come on with motion. But if I turn auto night mode off, the color picture is still good at night and the spotlight still goes on with motion even not in night mode. Like LifeHackster said I just wish it had a more secure base than a magnet.

So when someone walks up my driveway, the cam on my Garage does not detect until the person is basically 5 feet away. When you go across the field of vision, it can detect further away. Would be great is you would test motion with a direct on-coming test.

      I’ll only do it with battery powered cameras because of their PIR sensor...that is the weakness of all PIR motion based cameras. Plugged in or wired cameras don’t have this issue because they are pixel, algorithm, AI based.

      @@LifeHackster If I have a Ring Stick Up cam Plug-in, will it use pixel then? And if I put a battery in it and using it like a battery cam, will it then use PIR?

    How much can you turn the camera on the mount? I would need to turn mine about 35 degrees in order to get the view I want... Just wondering if the entire camera is magnetic as it turns or just the back?

    I've been waiting for a full power option with mains power so happy to now see one. But for me the biggest let down is the unit storage is only local to the unit via SD card and NOT to the Eufy Homebase storage unit! Why this?
    The security of the camera is compromised having SD card only option. Having video storage away from the camera makes so much more sense on the homebase, plus it keeps all your recordings in one place like a professional system would be. Eufys Indoor cam 2K also has only SD card option which I dislike when I already have the homebase option!!

      I was also wondering about this. If this camera only stores recorded video locally in the SD card how can you watch the recorded video on your phone? Is this only available if you pay for cloud storage subscription? If you can watch recorded video on your phone without subscription how long does a video stay accessible in the app?

    Does it have to positioned near the rooter? Where I want to mount it is a fair way from the rooter so I'm concerned the signal will be weak.

    Does this camera constantly buffer a few seconds of video, which it adds to the footage prior to detection - like the Ring wired cam?

    Question,
    I like this camera but would probably always use the "Continues Record" option. I see in the settings it will only record in 1080p if I choose that option.
    Since I'm stuck with 1080p with this camera, you think I should save a little money and just buy the 1080p version of this camera ?

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, just buy the 1080p version..there is really not a lot of difference as to the video quality.

    Seems similar in concept to the Reolink Lumus - 5v power, led lights & WiFi, although it does seem to offer RTSP which the Lumus doesn't natively. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available here (UK) yet so don't know how the price would compare.

    Hello Lifehackster,
    I appreciate the information you provided. I have a question regarding the outdoor Cam E220. You mentioned that this camera has internal storage and can record up to 12 days 24/7 with a 128GB capacity. My question is, can we connect the E220 to Homebase with a 6TB internal storage in order to record for more than 12 days continuously, or is it not possible to connect to the homebase for continuous recording?
    Thank you in advance.

    Is there any good solutions for power source (not including solar)? I am not a fan of having to run just a standard wall plug outside. It would make much more sense if it could be hardwired.

      There are now USB ports on like lamp sockets or floodlights that you can plug this in.
