I think the previous facelifted XF (2011-2015) looks sleeker and more luxurious on the front and back design.This new one looks too much like the cheaper XE to the point I thought Mat was talking about the wrong car in this video. I get that many manufacturers have similar design language across the range, but usually the cheaper models has the design cues from the more expensive models (ie. Mercedes W205 has W222 design cues, so much that it makes some people call W205 the baby S-class, but without making the W222 looks like giant C-class)
Good video, I’ve just bought a XF 240 R Sport twin turbo diesel. It will be interesting to compare it to the E class mercs I have been driving over the last few years
A niggling little note: I viewed the Auto Express review of this car just before watching Matt's piece. The volume levels on the two videos are vastly different (basically matt's preview is EXTREMELY low volume. At any rate, can I suggest that AE and CB try to match the audio levels on all your videos? You can't do anything about other TH-cam vids, but at least your own could have that bit down - like a TV broadcaster. Thanks ~
Despite the car looking great, I'm glad Jag put in a spare tire! I don't understand why a lot of the competitors got rid of spare wheels, so much better than run flats imo.
Car is awesome as ever except for the big fat aluminium trim from the previous model across the dashboard, it would be better if they included an option for a wooden trim

The XE has two half circles and the XF has four. As log as you can count you will. It's part of the design language that has fed down from the F-Type and will also feature on the F-Pace. I don't think Jaguars look as similar as BMW's and Audis. In fact it's become somewhat of a game trying to guess what Audi your driving behind because they are literally like shoe sizes.

The cruise control has been gratuitously modified. The 2014 has simply 3 buttons - roller wheel to set, cancel and resume. That's all you need. The newer ones have 5. Useless. Plus the cylinder shifter is replaced by the stick. another useless change.

Sorry to get more personal than perhaps is fair when talking about a car review, but this presenter really needs some advice. Not that I'm anti-midlands in anyway, as your accent is not the part of your presentation style that annoys me however I do believe it could be the root of the issue. The real problem is your upward inflections and the end of certain sentences. This makes statements sound like questions and decreases both the credibility and my enjoyment of the video. It's infuriating to listen to. I've noticed it on a few of this channel's videos now and although it is seemingly such an insignificant part of the video, it somehow over shadows whatever message you're trying to convey. It can be over turned with so little effort whilst making at least one subscriber more at ease whilst watching your videos.
I have a 2012 XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio Edition. I hate the car! Worst car I've ever owned! I've spent thousands of dollars on repairs. First the water pump. Then an electrical problem in the truck, then the trunk latch then a $2000+ computer then the fuel pump at $1,400. Now I'm told it needs $1,200+ for new motor and transmission mounts. The car has less than 80k miles on it. I told the shop: if it catches on fire 🔥 don't put it out! I previously had a 03 S Type it was one of the best cars I'd ever owned. The XF is 1st place for the worst car I've ever owned. Avoid a Tata wearing a Jaguar Badge. The quality is completely gone!

I like it, it looks good however I'm not sure it will be able to compete with the BMW 5 series or Mercedes E Class.
