About 3 years ago I was sitting on my couch just about ready to give up until I found my best friend I love my Ecotric folding ebike you'll never understand until you buy one I hope you all have a nice day have a blessed day!
I continue to absolutely love these videos. Will ALWAYS love the electronics tech ones (phones, tablets, etc...) but these "extra tech", for a lack of better words" are some of the best videos you put out.
I got into ebikes after almost dying from Covid twice in 2021, as well as having Long Covid, so its been a rough few years, but after all this happened & I was forced to retire due to illness & being a single dad at 48, to an 8yo boy it was a hard thing to go through, only had $8k in savings & that was gone in 7 months!! Well with the last of my money I decided to sell my car, buy an ebike, & live off what I have left, & that was honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life, I believe it saved my life, I've lost 80lbs in the last year, quit smoking, started bikepacking, & also do group rides, I had terrible depression, & even worse social anxiety after all this & being in the house for 2 years, getting an ebike changed all that!! I got a few Fiido ebikes & a Raev Bullet GT, but the Fiido T1 Pro & Raev Bullet Pro are my favorites, the T1 Pro can literally replace a car for city drivers, & the Raev Bullet Pro's looks just got a cool factor about it@ If you want a discount on Fiido ebikes, use code Revolt to save a few bucks, as well as help my son & I to continue in this expensive hobby! 😆 👍
Fabulous video! I bike a regular hybrid bike with 2" wide tires-no front suspension for commuting in a big city (Toronto-Canada) and I'm considering a ebike...yep...that's the trend! I see a lot of guys riding far tires bikes (4"wide tires) and they look awesome and comfy but at 75lbs they are tanks! Frankly a menace to other bikes and pedestrians! and I'm sure that if the battery were to die half way home, there is no way I could pedal my way home! Forget about using the front rack on a city bus! Ok for subway sure...so maybe fat tires is not for me (most guys with fat tires are doing deliveries etc)- I ride mostly in the city and some bike paths and very rarely off the path or on soft gravel...so I was thinking a commuting ebike would be better...a class 2 that would allow me to use the motor if I really really have to. My idea is to use it a a regular bike sometimes (no assistance) or just use minimal assistance-I don't need 20mph on a bike path! So maybe a bike with 2"inch wide tires would be better...but the one I like -RadCity 5 plus is 65lbs! which is still a lot...so your video has some bikes that are less heavy but not necessarily cheaper! Ebikes is big business...I doubt the real motivation is preserving the enviroment! Criticism aside, I think an ideal bike would be under 40lbs (under 20kg), with pedal assistance but also with throttle...and the more manageable 2inch or even 2.5" wide tires...under $2k US...is there such a thing? I want too much I know. I found a Velotric Discover 1 Bike Step-Thru on that website. It seems to have the throttle feature. hmmmThanks for your videos!
I need an ebike for exercise mainly, my knees are bone on bone and arthritis has set in, i have nerve damage in my right leg and screws in my right ankle lol. I feel a regular bike could leave me stranded. So an ebike could get me home, then i have to carry it upstairs. 🤷♂️ I like beach cruiser styles
That's actually a good selection of urban e-bikes, good price spread. The VanMoof looks like a great one for NYC or just nervous folk with it's anti -theft and recovery features. The Specialized having a mid-drive is definitely good for those looking for performance. The gear train will multiply the torque, possibly giving more performance in certain gears than the hub-driven bikes.
Looks like trouble in Vanmoof land “VanMoof has confirmed its application for a suspension of payment and the temporary shutdown of its physical stores.” Always sad to see innovative companies hit a financial wall.
For me the non-removable battery is a dealbreaker for the purchase of an e-bike as well. Especially one that I’m going to use for rail trail TOURING. The reason, some hotels will not let you bring your bicycle inside, so therefore you can’t charge the bike unless you can remove the battery.
Ok. Nice enough general look at a few bikes. But it's really missing important information like what type, brand, power of motor and battery manufacturers. Are displays totally built into the bike or are they replaceable without sending the whole thing off to a very expensive manufacturers service centre? I'm in Ireland so in a totally different market but I'm about to buy my first e-bike and it's going to be a Bosch bike no matter what company or brand makes the actual bike or chassis that everything fits onto. I'm only buying a bike where everything is removable, repairable and replaceable. Bosch is as far as I can tell the only company where I will still be pretty much guaranteed to be able to get entire replacement parts or just individual components for repairs in the next 10 to 15 years. Buying a beautiful bike with unique proprietary parts or a similar generic bargain can leave you totally screwed if that company or generic supplier goes out of business or as i was told in more than one bike shop stocking some major brands, they couldn't guarantee parts after 5 years. Then you're pretty much fecked. An e-bike that may cost several thousands should not be liable to become hi grade recycling in five years because components cannot be sourced anymore. It's also reassuring to see that there are many independent companies starting up to service and repair motors and batteries outside of warranties and manufacturers very expensive service centres. And also battery packs can often be brought back to almost full capacity by just changing out dead or faulty cells. Similarly with e-car batteries which is good news for their longevity, lifespan and value for money and everyone who uses them.
First time on your channel due MR Mobile recommendations, if is possible could it be mention/added units also in metric? to follow better the numbers and figures Thanks in advance
So.... Since you asked, the torque measurements were actually metric, but he inadvertently said "nanometers" instead of "newton-meters". Not a big deal, but if that helps. Also, isn't watts a common European measurement? Cars are often given power numbers kw. Now he just needs to offer kg with the lbs
@@deansmits006 hey Noah thanks for replying, I was referring more to the moments were I wanted to have a sense of the size of the bike and the distance that can possible reach so, foot, inches, miles, regarding torque I don't know much about it, so it is a bit alien to me in any system metric or imperial 😁
They'll literally rob you for an eBike, thieves know they are worth a lot of money... (They should come standard with GPS location 24/7 accessible to owner) Non-Removable / Replaceable Batteries are NO WAY JOSE for me...
Wow he makes it so difficult to find out basic info about the bikes he's reviewing like the speed for instance. After wasting all that time watching the review I still have no idea what speed any of these bikes run at
All ebikes produce less torque than a human. But it's kinda like being "spotted" while lifting. Just a gentle assist is enough to make it feel like nothing.
Correction: I say nanometers instead of Newton meters because I've been working on too many videos explaining chipsets. Please ignore 😂

Nanometer is unit of length (very short). Newton meter is a unit of torque
I’m on a wait list for the Velotric Thunder 1
What do you think of it? I was gonna get the t1ST but kinda where I live I should probably get something with more range , but ide probably love it
@@ShouldaWaved honestly I ended up getting a bike shop e-bike instead (Specialized) but all short term reviews I’ve heard are glowing

A non removable battery is an instant deal breaker...
Not if you can just easily carry it inside
@@gameworkerty ah yes i will buy a bike that will become e-waste so that i can carry it inside easier

Lol
Do these come with a driving class , as with a car, motorcycle, desal truck.(sp)
Another great video review. You made a subject I was not interested in, into something I now am.

AI Noise Cancellation... 😜
Where is pixel 7a ?
35nm of torque? Man, my grandma has more torque than that
Your legs: ~100-150Nm (but maybe way higher if you're an athlete)
Bicycle motors: 30-75Nm
All ebikes produce less torque than a human.
