Ada perubahan yang cukup besar dengan cara makan orang Indonesia dari tahun 70an, 80an, 90an, dan 2000an. Dahulu orang tidak terlalu suka sarapan makan makanan berat. Dulu biasanya hanya singkong, roti, bubur, jajajan pasar atau gorengan saja. Siang barulah mereka makan makanan berat. Tetapi sekarang orang Indonesia tidak peduli mereka makan jam berapapun bisa makan berat ataupun makanan ringan. Pagi terbiasa makan nasi dengan banyak lauk pauk. Dari pagi menuju siang mereka makan banyak makanan ringan ataupun gorengan. Siang makan makanan berat lagi. Biasanya setelah makan siang mereka jarang makan makanan ringan sampai sekitar jam 5 sore. Sore biasanta suka makan makanan berat lagi lebih dikarenakan makan malam sering terlambat. Bahkan tengah malam pun orang Indonesia biasa makan makanan berat, nasi dengan lauk warteg, sate, dan apapun itu. Sampai sekarang mungkin belum ada penelitiannya. Tetapi kalau kita cermati, hanya di Indonesia saja orang-orangnya setiap waktu lebih suka makan makanan berat.
