    Ha, ha, ha... First time I see bad comments about Waldner... Anyway it's okay... Not all of us like the same... In my case I know ma long a great player, but for me it better to watch xu xin... I have more fun. In waldner's time I liked him, but I also liked liu guoliang and ma lin...

      And still, words will never change the fact that Waldner is the greatest to ever do it. Cell ball era. Smaller cell ball era too. Then, the 40mm cell era. Gor fat and didn't train, and still got silver at the Olympics, and won a bunch of other shit. Played like he was toying around for fun a lot of the time, and was still so hard to beat.
      And the easiest way to know Ma Long is number 2 all-time at best is just asking yourself: Who wins if you had 1992 Waldner vs 2016 Ma Long? 3 matches, regardless of who wins. One match small cell ball. One match large cell ball. One match poly ball.
      If you think Ma even has a chance, you're a hopeless case, sorry. Waldner would dominate the first two and keep it extremely close in the 3rd. Waldner could neutralize Ma will his serves with the cell balls. And he could also block the shit out of Ma's 3rd ball attacks. Plus, Ma would have such a hard time getting on the offensive with how low a cell ball stays, and how much spin Waldner could create on them too. Ma would struggle to even move Waldner back off the table even a little bit. And in the poly ball match, Waldner could still block better than anyone, and very close to the table too. So, Ma would flail around, trying to attack the 3rd, 4th, and 5th balls as much as possible. But, Waldner would stand strong and block to the open side. The only thing that would help Ma is the fact that Waldner would have to work after his serves more. And that would keep Ma in it. But, it'd be pretty even nonetheless.
      And you may disagree with my assertions here. But, that doesn't mean I'm wrong. Just have a look at how many GAMES Waldner lost in the entire 1992 Olympics, in the small cell era, on his way to the most impressive gold medal victory that table tennis has ever seen. Look at the level of play too. That ball whips around with so much spin, and it stays ridiculously low too. And Waldner accomplished a feat that will probably never be matched or topped.
      You can count trophies and medals all you'd like. But, they both have a lot. Waldner did all of his in a tougher era. And Waldner's 1992 Olympic feat is so incredible that it trumps everything else. It just does.
      And idk why any non-Chinese people would ever back the 2nd greatest of all-time, Ma Long, and pretend like he's not 2nd best. They've dominated the sport for a long while now. They're communist. So, all of it is used as propaganda to bolster the party, which is bolstering the oppression of millions of people. And they're always up to shady stuff behind the scenes too. Unless you're a communist Chinese person, you should always be acknowledging and arguing for the greatest of all-time, Jan-Ove Waldner.

      @@dickn.ormous1064 That's because they kill them in communist countries. Or, the communist countries just LIE. Anything for the party, comrade!
      We also have MOSTLY legitimate criminals in prison too. And all of them are given RIGHTS and a thing called "DUE PROCESS".
      And don't defend communism to me. Go live in communist China, or perhaps the DPRK. It's sooooooo much better, right? America is soooooo bad, right? Then go. Let me know how that goes. Oh wait, you won't be able to from the heavily censored internet. Haha
      Capitalism and our version of it is not perfect. Our country is not perfect. But, we're sticking to capitalism and we're sticking to our AMERICAN values. Take your economic system of 100% failure, and the gross human rights violations that come with it, somewhere else. No thanks! We're good! We're not fucking morons to THAT extent
      You're either an uneducated twat, or evil, if you have ANY sympathy for socialism/communism. So, which do you think you are?

You're still welcome here in the land of the free, as long as you leave all your cultural baggage at the door. See how great we are? How many other countries will do such things?
      And you stopped defending the commies and went to what-about-isms. It's okay to be okay with Americas flaws. That doesn't mean we aren't trying. At least we have GOOD INTENTIONS. How many other countries have good intentions? Very few, and NONE are socialist or communist

    I really don't understand why people call him Waldner the 🐐 while his playing style is way too slow. He won't get a chance against current age players. What he does is a hidden service n some placement. I agree he is the one of the grandslam winners but still his style is way too boring to watch.

      hahahaha omg... what a comment, he defeated all top chinese in their prime and winning a WTTC (1997 in London) without even losing a set... . Why do you compare table tennis parameters with 20 years of development? 1997 Waldner maybe wouldnt win vs todays top players but then again its 20y of development, plastic ball, rubbers and 1000 other factors. Also nobody from 1977 would stand a chance vs 1997 Waldner. Your comment is so narrow minded, its mind boggling. By the way Waldner is like 50y old in this video and plays a top player (back then) like Crisan who beat Boll at the Olympics 2012 in London. Waldner defeated Ma Lin at the Olympics 2004 with nearly 40y of age. Lets see who can do the same with the same given environmental parameters.

      @@srsav3kkknosk1llsen Exactly. You said it yourself, he wouldn't get chance against current players n that was my point. And also many will admit that he was damn too slow.

      @@ajitkumarbehera4965 So you ask why he is the goat bc he wouldnt stand a chance against current age players now that he is almost 60. Seriously are you still sane? You didnt even understand what I wrote and that your post doesnt make any sense. Well Im done here. Ciao

      @ajitkumarbehera4965 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@srsav3kkknosk1llsen Yep buddy I'm sane. What my point was if his age is same as the current players, he wouldn't get a chance. I'm not saying a 60 year old JW vs 25 yr old FZD. I'm saying a 26 year JW vs a 26 ur XX.

    • @srsav3kkknosk1llsen
      @srsav3kkknosk1llsen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ajitkumarbehera4965 Fair point, gotcha. Still my opinion is a 26y old Waldner would obliterate a 26y old XX given _exactly the same_ conditions since they were lets say like 3y old and external parameters like ball, rubber, rules. Dont underestimate the crazy adaption skills of JOW. Chinese also developed the way they are today bc they had to adapt to his playstyle and change a lot to overcome him (which they never really did). People would still call him the GOAT nowadays if it werent for Ma Long. Yes in terms of achievements Ma Long is the GOAT but for me personally owning the world with his "lazy" looking playstyle JOW is the one and only. Something like Boll just with titles lol ^^ .
