I have the first seven issues of the Nightwing's Outsiders and I really love it. I really wanted to know where it was going but I never had the chance to buy the following issues, just The Return of Donna Troy and that made the story a little confusing.

It was a political decision on the justice leagues part, at the time they represented america, and only america, the situation had nothing to do with america. The outsiders ended up being a team mostly consisting of European heroes, and later they turned into a international team.
Nice history lesson on the Outsiders, I haven't read many of their books but have enjoyed what little I have read of them, would be cool to see them in action again someday (the "Team" from Young Justice seem very similar to the Outsiders in that they also took a proactive stance against supervillains, going on field missions to take down their operations before they could get their plans off the ground etc...Sorry to make that comparison, I know you didn't care for the show much, just felt it was an apt description).
I read some issues of the outsiders, and i liked the romances in it. It was the first time i ever saw arsenal and they were fighting against some embodiment of the seven sins as i recall.
I haven't read any of the Outsiders comics but from what I gather watching this is that the Outsiders could even be a group of new superheros. Which in my opinion is good cause then you have so many possibility for a group of either teen superheros or old superheros but the whole thing can only be good with only a good story writer and all that

You are the greatest. Glad I found you. Diehard Curt Swan era, left and came back in the 80's. These were my favorite times because I love paralell world stories. Yes, the Outsiders, (Original Doom Patrol) etc. I was unable to buy the new 52 so I was sad, but It's great finding our a bit about it now. Tell me is there Legion of Superheroes anywhere in the new universe because I cannot find them. Supergirl and Legion, faves plus scads of others. Thanks for what you do! Mother of Kara Thorn.
The way I see the Outsiders; they're a bunch of dark heroes like Batman, but that they function like DC's version of the X-Men. Also, it annoys me that the Outsiders don't have a stable rogue's gallery.
The only Outsiders that I read was the original Batman & the Outsiders from the 80's. I wasn't very into the title that much. I was much more into the New Teen Titans at the time. It seemed to me like they were trying to duplicate the success that DC had with the Titans and it just didn't work for me.
The title should have been, "facts about the comics that the outsiders were in." As i came looking for character descriptions, names, powers, personalities... and that's pretty much the only things That weren't mentioned.
