- Every single base iPhone review includes a batch of comments that follows the same theme. X Android phone has additional refresh rate, or more cameras, or better specs for the same or less money. And sure, a lot of that is true, but the problem is that none of it seems to be what most people care about. I mean sure there are more Android phones sold each year than iPhones at least globally, but that's if you pile them up to include all the cheap phones that don't match those arguments. Once you start looking into which company sells most phones, then yeah, it's crazy to think that Apple is second around the world, and first in the US by a long shot. Those numbers alone make the next comparison unfair, even if this might actually be the best example of those arguments.
On one corner we have the iPhone 15, what Apple calls as Newphoria, and what we've considered as the best update to this lineup in years. On the other we have the Pixel 8, what Google calls as powerful in every way, helpful every day, and what we think is maybe the most underrated phone of the year, but for three years in a row. Seriously, it's sad to see Pixels at just 3% of the US market share versus Apple's 53%, so the question is, which one should you pick? I made the same decision between the 15 or the 8 and bought the pixel and I'm extremely happy with it. Don't use the camera too much and I have a gaming setup so Mobile gaming isn't for me. The pixel is 120hz, quick and good for everything I do. The display is great and the extra 500 cad in my pocket certainly doesn't hurt
Exactly these tech snobs try really hard to sell you the iPhone, but the average consumer we look for quality of life features that the Pixel offers. The only thing the iPhone offers is promising you not to be the green bubble. The tech nerds forget that not all grown adults still plays video games on their smartphones. You can tell he does by the teen t-shirts he wears.
I always was an android fan and last year I got an iPhone 14 pro, I was disappointed. Many times the screen freezes 😂. Whe you see so many people kissing their apple logo it makes you believe it's great but not. I got a pixel 8 pro and it's excellent.

I got mine for $10 CAD a month. And I get to keep the phone at the end of 2 years. There’s no way you can get me to spend 1200+ CAD for a slightly better phone with some major compatibility issues compared to the Android
The fact that a 800$ phone doesnt have 120 or more Hz is a blatant marketing scheme to sell more pro models, and a joke.
Clearly this whole review is biased against Pixel.

Apple charging that amount of $ for 60hz screen is criminal. It does not warrant that price in any way.

@@ARusso1192stealing ideas? You wouldnt be holding a smartphone if it wasnt for Iphone in 2007. Samsung lost the stealing ideas court case anyway as it backfired. Its not about who has the best specs with each new model- many fail to understand this.
Well actually it does in one way: it doesn't clip near black levels and it has no green tinting (tints towards orange, in fact). This means a better video watching experience at night while in bed in a room with all the lights turned off, sun set and blinds closed (ie 0 lux pitch black environment), which is when most people watch movies and stream shows on phones.
Because the Pixel 8 uses a 60Hz display, and then overclocks it against the manufacture recommendation, the Pixel 8 clips the first shadow step out of black so the dynamic range on the display is only 254 shades of grey instead of the full 255 on the iPhone15. On top of this, the red subpixels stop working at 02/254. So what shadow detail you have left, it will be blue or green tinted. So dark scenes in movies will be both missing details outright and be lower resolution and discolored. So really the Pixel 8 is actually more like a 253 or 252 steps of grey display, so effectively less than 8-bits of color.
This is the price for the affordability of the Pixel 8. That said, Apple does not finance iPhones for low income peope who don't have major carriers. So Apple is an asshole, basically. Unfortunately, the pixel is compromised. On the other hand, Google making a custom display driver for the pixel 8 allowed Google to support the ultra hdr photo format on Android and made it possible for android to mix hdr and sdr content at the same time on screen. Samsung copied Google's software to enable ultra hdr photos om Samsung devices and now instagram and threads both support ultra hdr file formats. So this hardware comprpmise allowed android to develop the software for this feature. So it's good and bad.
Apple is just a technically correct product with no compromises. That's why it's expensive, though they do boost the brightness of text in dark modes and that can strain peoples' eyes and even cause near sightnedness from squinting long-term -- which could be considered a draw back for the iPhone (it is in my book). Google doesn't do this, text remains the same brightness of the white point of the brightness slider and is more uniform for all APLs which is good in my book. The pixel is also tinted towards magenta in white balance, which means with the night light mode there is less green when blue is removed and the display is like a pure orange color -- this is good for users to get melatonin at night and sleep better. However, the iphone is sharper and it does have better color accuracy especially when you figure ot actually has all 255 shades of grey.
Ironically, the iphone is kind of a fiscally conservative philosophy and the pixel is kind of a fiscally liberal philosophy. Even though owners of the devices are usually opposite to that politically. The employees of Apple are more conservative than the emplpyees of Google though. It's all quite strange. I think the iphone 15 appeals to people who can afford it. And the Pixel 8 at $500 appeals to people who can't afford the iphone, especially with google store 0% interest financing allowing factory unlocked phones. You don't even need to have a major carrier to quality and you can double internal storage for just $50. So, for the lower income folks out there a pixel 8 256gb for $550 financed to $20/month for 36 months 0% interest is the way to go.
For people will $900 cash for an iphone, then that is their way. The valid benefits to them are 255 shades of gray, higher pixel density and better color accuracy. Also auto sample rate switching and reduce loud sounds for audio playback. That wasn't touched on, but that is another plus for the iphone.
Now the Pixel 8 Pro is available for $749. Which corrects all the display issues, but it's also a lot bigger, heavier and has shorter battery life. And it still doesn't have auto sample rate switching for audio.
Using the Pixel 8 for almost 3 weeks now. Great device. Just hate that pro mode features only come with 8 pro

@@St_AngusYoung Lmao horrible logic. Manual controls are something even my 5 year old $200 phone had. Every phone except my Pixel 8 has pro controls. This is just a horrible excuse since they can easily bring it to the regular model. Same with Video boost and other features which are purely achieved through the cloud but Google gives a shitty excuse for the base model. It makes sense that they reserve features for the pro but the pro model is too dumb of an upgrade over the 8.

I traded in my pixel 7 for $1k credit for iPhone 15 pro on verizon. While I like the iPhone now has usb c, I am itching to swith back to pixel because of the ease of use and how easily I can go back to my previous screen. It seems like a small issue but it makes a difference to me.
Google just has some nice quality of life features that it makes it hard to switch. You start to miss these features once you don’t have them.

I checked out Consumer Reviews, a non-profit test centre and the iPhone 15 passed with a top rating. There is little difference in durability; it's probably just down to pure luck! Over 80% of us are sensible and use a case/screen protector so this point is moot for the vast majority anyway.

The display of the pixel 8 is not only better than the iPhone 15 but also better than the iPhone 15 pro and 15 Pro Max. The Pixel 8 received 154 points on DxOMarks display test. The iPhone 15 received only 145 points, the 15 Pro 149 points, the 15 Pro Max 149. The display tech of the Pixel 8 line is ranked 1st globally. You mentioned that the iPhone has a better color reproduction. Completely false. Pixel 8 scored 163 out of 164 points in color reproduction. The iPhone 15 only 150. I could go on and on. No one should expect an unbiased review from so called Tech TH-camrs. However, straight up lying because of your bias is terrible! In addition, if you are spreading false claims, do not act childish just because you are getting called out. It's a bad look!

$799 with an outdated 60hz panel and lacks AI features or $549 with 120hz Panel with great software. Those extra $250 savings go a long way for most and down to preference and budget.
Each has pros and cons, and the A16 performs far better than the Tensor 3.
For what exactly... gaming? Most people don't need the horsepower of the A17

It is not only for today but for the future, and even if you upgrade earlier, your phone will go to someone else who will love the power of the A17 Pro in 2026. I came from P7 to Ip15. I don't play any games so I guess do not need too powerful of a flagship chipset. I still prefer android user experience. It's so much easier. From 90 hz back to 60 hz I can still feel the difference & lastly..for me personally I preferred photos on P7 than Ip15(took more photos than videos). So overall for me I prefer android. Thinking of selling my Ip15 & to go back to android. Now thinking of P8.
It seemed to me that the selfie video on the pixel was steadier.
In the side by side clip you showed of yourself walking, I could clearly see vibration associated with each step in the iPhone video.
However, in the pixel video, it came out smooth with no vibration.
Yes, the iPhone captured a little more detail, but I'd sacrifice that little difference to avoid the picture vibration.
As my skin was all washed out on the Pixel. Sure.. I do feel Google needs to increase the bitrate

That is the premise of this video, both phones are great and the individual preferences are what will guide your selection.
The only deciding factor I had between iphone 15 and pixel 8 is the availability of 5G connectivity in my country. Sadly for some reason pixel phones does not have 5G in my country, no volte, no vowifi, as a lower flagship phone, I think it should have at least these features which are pretty common in midrange phones nowadays, even some budget phones. That’s why I went with the 15 instead…
I had the 14 pro max with the iPad pro and initially I liked it but the more and more I use them both. I just didn't feel it. So I gave my wife my iPad pro and I bought me a Samsung 9 ultra which I'm extremely happy with and I bought a pixel 8 and I have no complaints or regrets. It's all about what you prefer and will feel good to you. I was at Android person for many years and I figured let me try the apple experience for a year and if I liked it to keep going with it but it just didn't pan out. The great thing is we have options. Get what you like.
Seriously, if Google is available in my country I would ditch my iPhone GLADLY. They need to expand their market, Google is much more promising than Apple right now.
Why do people always say that apps work better on ios? I don't have an iphone but I do have an ipad and apps crashing or acting weird is not that rare.
I also don't have an iPhone but have iPad. What they mostly mean is that developers will most likely make and optimise an app for iPhone 1st rather than for Android. It may be due to less variations that they have to work on compared to Android. Also I think some apps are optimised for iPhone, not iPad. It doesn't mean there won't be issues on iOS. But if there are general issues then it may get fixed in iOS first.
My wife has the iPhone 15 Pro and I have the P8P and the apps work just the same.
It all comes down to the developers, it can be the possibility that the developers rush out an update because google and apple have strict guidelines in terms of updates for updating the apps. Android apps are still supported all the way back android 4.4 kitkat. However, not every app is updated to the newest version of the operating system. When the news came out that google and apple force developers to update there apps for the newest version of the operating system. There were developers that were upset both at google and apple because they did not update the apps because they did not add any new features on the app. Both google and apple will remove the apps that are not updated to the newest version of the operating system and that's why the developers were upset. There are forums regarding the apps that the developers help develope both for android and ios devices and that app developers were being force to update there apps or the risk of there apps being removed from the apple app store and the google play store. I had more issues with updating the apps compared to using the apps that were not updated. The update for apps changes things and even remove features that were on the app once the app is updated. For example, when youtube was updated awhile ago, the annoying play button was on the bottom of the screen and I kept on accidentally pressing on the play now button way too frequently when I was trying to scroll the app or search something on youtube.
The problem is that there’s so many Android phones to the develop for while there’s fewer iPhones to develop for plus the fact that the iPhone is far more popular with more money to be made from the AppStore than the Play Store so it makes sense financially for developers to put more effort into iOS, but it is dependent on having a recent iPhone.

Yes pixel phones FANTASTIC with pictures, the pixel 8 is still powerful but it does lack some futures..
If I had to pick which one I'd buy if I didn't have both I'd probably pick the pixel 8, the AI, cameras, reverse wireless charging, faster charging speeds, call screen so many more..
This is the kind of review you get when you have an Apple fanboy review two different phones. I have used both Android and Apple phones. I could not stand iOS. It's confusing and despite what the reviewer said, not as cohesive as you would expect. I now own the Pixel 8 and with holiday discounts and a trade-in, I got the phone for less than half what the iPhone 15 costs. The camera on the Pixel 8 is amazing. And the magic eraser and best take features work really well on the Pixel 8. As far as I know Apple doesn't have those features.

NOTE- I guess , if you update your pixel 8 to the latest december update , the performance of genshin impact improves to 60fps , after the GPU driver kernel update added in the updates , performance is much more stable and improved after that !

In my opinion I have to disagree with your choice of winning to me the Pixel is way better, I am not a gamer so I don't care about that I dont take videos so I dont mind I love the customazation of the Pixel, iPhone hasn't changed their apps layout for years and every time I see someone with iPhone they all look the same boring

The only thing I'd say holding the pixel back is tensor g3 hardware optimization for the chip and the recent December update actually provided a new GPU kernel for better gaming performance and once Google and Developers can hope to push to optimize custom hardware for the pixel then it'll definitely be a good thing to maximize the future of the tensor chips.
google does have the potential to make a good chip but I'm happy with the sacrifice made towards the chip for software and also some hardware features
I think the idea of having Tensor is pretty smart, but I have a hard time understanding why it’s so behind. MediaTek is ahead, Snapdragon continues to be great. Apple Silicon has owned it for years. Tensor can’t just start at the bottom and remain there, nor should it focus on things people don’t care much about yet.
I think the reason Google Tensor is so fa behind Snapdragon, MediaTek and Apple Silicon is simply because they’re using the vastly inferior Exynos architecture which even Samsung no longer uses at least in the US.
I think for what the Pixel 8 is meant to be, the TG3 is fine and the whole phone as a whole is fine, the only thing holding in back is the price increase, because now at $700, there are several other better options for equal or less price.

I love android and iPhone. I’ve been using iPhone for a few years now though,however between these too….its a tough one,I might would choose the pixel because I prefer the richer slightly more saturated oled on it and 120hz as opposed to 60hz on the 15. I would rather have a pleasant display than much else tbh 🤣 I don’t do much crazy on my phones anymore.

8:36 So quick minor detail with portrait comparison: When you take a photo in portrait mode on pixel you can change the subject and the blur amount, those features have been there since pixel 3 and about two years ago Pixel phones got a feature drop which lets you make any photo a portrait mode photo. Also portrait light is also on pixel.

MagSafe is 15W wireless charging. It was only 12W on the 12 mini. The wired fast charging is 27W 9V 3A on the 12, 13, 14, and 15 series. (except the minis, which only support 2A, so 18W).
Id like to know what phone you personally prefer (including Samsung and or others not in this video) and would consider to be your main.
My two personal phones are a Galaxy Z Fold 5 and an iPhone 15 Pro Max. One is my phone for everything, the other my B camera and social media tool.

The difference often comes down to a very subjective, what does the device do for me type of consideration. I went from an iPhone 14 pro max to the Pixel 8 and couldn't be happier. The Apple ecosystem is impressive. It's hardware is solid and often underwhelming in terms of design and its software is probably one of the most overrated things there are in life... Apple has not reinvented the wheel it just does a great job with marketing groupthink that has so many people thinking that Apple is the be all and end all of the tech world... Apple has just as many if not more quirky issues with iOS as any version of Android I've ever used. The Pixel 8 design is sturdy and refreshing in that it isn't your typical boxy slab like many phones out there including iPhones. The software side of things is just too good with the Pixel when you consider all of the features built in via AI. Is it perfect? Certainly not. Do I i have much more freedom to change my UI as i see fit? Absolutely. If Android 14 bugs me i can switch to just about any launcher i want that better suits my needs or aesthetic requirements. Does Apple do photography and video extremely well? Absolutely. You know who else does those things really well? Pixel. At the end of the day when you consider price, value, form and function, Android still gives you more options to carry a device that suits my needs. Apple? They're fine...if you're into retail groupthink. I like to think for myself and Android has always been #1 with a bullet in that department 🙂

Are they the best phones? No
But the majority of their isheep followers will have you believe that and the truth is Apple doesn't sell phones, they sell a brand. I like that question that you asked as it's the same question I always ask before I buy a phone whereas I feel most people just buy their phones because it's the next 'cool' thing on the block. I have the Pixel 7 and the iPhone SE and both of them fit my needs perfectly.

Saying you prefer the "colour accuracy" of the iPhone just reeks of bias. Almost every test done ranks the Pixel 8 series as the most colour accurate displays.

Well apple fan will pick up only apple and just hate android that is all. I was a big iphone user now i would never go close to one. I just got the Pixel 8 Pro after having Xiaomi for 4 years and truly loved it. Xiaomi is for sure one of my fav phone i have had the pass few years it just comes way too expensive to order and pay those crazy border fees they charge you. Got an amazing deal on my pixel 8 pro and i truly am enjoying it.

Like you said, Google apps are working great on both devices and apple apps are not. So if apple doesn't won't to work with android that's fine by me. I'll stop using any apple apps and choose the pixel.
You can look at it another way. You get the benefit of great iOS apps and can use Google apps, the best of both worlds, whereas the Pixel is Android-specific.
Google apps dont work perfectly on iOS. I don't know where you're getting that from. You definitely don't get full features. I was on a flight, thousands of km above ground level, and Google maps showed me where my location is even on AIRPLANE mode. My friend had an iPhone, and Google maps did not show a pin where we are on the map in the course of the flight. I was amazed!!
I think the Pixel 8 is still the better phone.
It’s definitely better at some things, but the iPhone is also better at some things but overall I won’t say any bad thing about the pixel because it’s my favourite android phone by far but you can’t deny that video is better on the iPhone camera I think in terms of features I prefer the pixel over the iPhone definitely and Siri is Miles behind Google Assistant.

Just got an iPhone from work this week. SwiftKey isn't close to being as useful on ios, I still can't add apps or widgets on the home screen, as I'd like to and I can't completely back outta apps using gesture navigations.
The green bubble is nice though!

I'm interested in 120 refresh rate for everyday use. I have a PC and an Xbox for gaming. I have never understood people that want to play the more demanding games on their phone that is a subpar experience regardless of what phone you are using.
Its nice we now have a comparable choice, but do we? I'm in the market to upgrade, but i would have to buy an iPhone 13 for the price to be comparable (Pixel 8 is now £624)

Excellent comparison, both cellphones are very good, but I agree, in "real world use", the iPhone is better. I purchased an iPhone 15 Plus and I love it, I am a "long-term" Android guy. The iPhone does "everything, really well, with no "hiccups".

2023 60hz panel on iphone 15 is really sad that I like all the iphone's optimiztion but can't really go for it. I picked the pixel 8 material U is just beautiful to use and answering calls and stopping alarm with just voice command rather than have to pickup the phone is so useful.

I have only used iPhone until recently. I carry two phones and decided to try an android phone. I tried Galaxy s24 and hated it so I returned it. Then I saw a video that said the pixel is the android iPhone users should try. So I got a pixel 8 and fell in love!! I found myself not wanting to use my iPhone 15 at all! I think the user experience on Pixel 8 is more fun! I love the pixel's haptics.
I did the same thing! Tried the s24 and just didn't feel right. The pixel 8 felt right. It may not be the most powerful or super battery champ, but does everything I need well. Keep enjoying yours!
This is the template review we have been waiting for- iPhone's 4 year old design is better, (Add a case and the iphone really feels uncomfortable with how boxy it feels), benchmark for displays is Genshin Impact(If they close that game down, half the reviewers would lose 30sec in their videos), people who game, get gaming phones or better yet, consoles. A lot of effort goes into the aesthetics and production of the video, with nothing concrete coming out. we just want your opinion on the phones as you have both of them and can provide a regular consumer's view on it.

I have to use an iPhone 15 for work and iOS simply sucks as an user experience. It’s just not intuitive to me. The hardware may be good, although the phones always seem top heavy and unbalanced, but the usability is so archaic. I prefer the Pixel 8 camera for stills, and I hardly take any video. One thing that these tech snobs forget to tell you is that Google continues to improve their cameras while Apple you get the same software camera through out the life of the phone. Jaime is such an Apple fanboy, its actually pretty disgusting.

More refresh rate doesn’t mean better. Just because an F150 truck has a 5.8L engine, it doesn’t mean it’s faster or better than a 1.5L Accord.

The point is it's making an excuse for something that shouldn't be in a phone going into 2024. Do you really think people who don't care about high refresh rates care about the bionic chip? Why don't they just include the chip from the iphone 12, still a very powerful chip and would hold up just as well as a 60hz display. It is an inferior technology. Period. If you don't care about it that's fine. There are a lot of things I don't care about either. But if you've got this platform it would be nice to hear objective thoughts alongside subjective ones

I have been using Samsung phones for ages and have the oled screen always set to dynamic mode, boosting the oled colors. I personally prefer it that way, so I was on board, when you initially said it was a personal preference. But now I am not so sure what you really mean? In which regard would the screen on the iphone be objectivley be better for someone who doesn't care about color accuracy?
My pixel 6 pro charing port crapped out half a year in, turned buggy, and started losing it's signal, it's battery was unreliable... I couldn't wait to get ahold of an S24.

In genshin impact settings theres a fps limit setting, it is probably on default 60 for iphones and 30 for pixels so you prolly underestimated the pixel there

iPhone scratches very easy... that sux. I had one and swiped up to unlock, and a sliver on my finger scratched the screen.
Most people use a screen protector not only to stop scratches and breaks but to keep the oleophobic layer from wearing. Great investment for resale values.

There is a link between less breakable = and more scratchable. So, to avoid scratches, 80% of consumers buy a screen protector. The problem with Samsung and Pixel is that they have curved displays that make it almost a nightmare to put one on and keep it on, hence why Pixel and Samsung users may not use screen protectors. These days when a single scratch will reduce trade-ins by half or more, sensible people will put one on.

@@ikuturso7570 not true, I have an 11 Pro Max and I’m currently using a 14 Pro Max and I’ve had no burn in with the OLED displays on either, unless you leave display lit up all the time then we’ve come a long way with OLED displays since then.
The only thing keeping me from jumping to an iphone is the lack of customization.
I really like your video to be honest but i didn't agree with a few things. One MAJOR thing is the costumisation options you get with Android. For exemple, i am using a Google Pixel 6 with the Microsoft launcher installed. I have also found a IOS 17 launcher which looks exactly like normal IOS as well as a dynamic Island for who ever wants to use that. It's so easy to install and there are tons of launchers available for free on the Play Store. There are also some things like that the Iphone is so much higher priced. I could have also seen the Iphone 15 to be compared to the Pixel 8 Pro because they basically cost the same. there were also some other parts i didn't really agree with but i won't list all of them since i want my comment to at least be read by a few people
Please continue to make content like this but in the future i would find it amazing if you would consider the price more since not everyone wants to spend too much on their phone :D

My favorite version of android back in android 4.0 ice cream sandwich with the holo theme and I still prefer it compared to modern look of android and navigation. I can't stand the gestures since I still get confused on how to use the gestures. I saw a youtube video awhile ago about ubuntu touch on phones and ubuntu touch gesture navigation is easier to use than android and the ui is clean and well organized since the apps and settings are all consolidated and categorized. I still use the 3 playstation buttons aka 3 button navigations. I call the 3 button navigation on android playstation buttons because the on screen buttons look like buttons on a playstation game controller. Even though android has 3 buttons on the display, it resembles the playstation controller because of the functionality and features even though they do things differently unless you use a playstation game controller on android than it feels native.
I actually preferred Lollipop more. Material design was pretty dense and has great taste IMHO
@@Pocketnow Lollipop was a dumpster fire on my old Nexus 6 which I had constant app crashes, especially Google apps along with awful RAM management, especially for games, Google couldn’t even properly fix Lollipop until 6.0 Marshmallow with that said I enjoyed my Nexus 6, which is one of my favourite Android phones from Google (Motorola) which was just a jumbo Moto X.
Yeah honestly Holo and early Material Design are imo way cleaner and more visually appealing interfaces than modern Android.
I am not a fan of Google’s trend over the last few years of oversized round pills everywhere and oversimplifying the visuals while making the usability arguably more complicated at times.
I always preferred the app icons being without any borders or boxes and I think Holo with its dark and neon blue futuristic look and old Material Design with its folded paper and drop shadows looked way sleeker than the current kinda dry look of Android and Google (especially the new Google app icons, I still can’t believe they even got rid of the iconic Gmail envelope logo).
I always wanted to go back to using a Pixel but for the price and comparing what is on the market, I just end up passing on it. There seems like there's always been issues with Pixel phones from hardware issues to software issues. Sure the software issues get fixed but for a phone that is just released users just want a phone that works. If I were to choose an Android phone, Pixel phones aren't on the top of my list.

Apple doesn’t release phones with issues every year. The market chooses what is best or what people like. There is a reason why Pixel phones aren’t sold as much as Samsung or Apple phones. In my opinion Pixel is THE ONLY one who can go 1 on 1 with apple. Period. I switched back just because I love ios. If you wanna talk photos, pixel takes better photos. Videos ? Apple clearly wins.

out of the box experience might be better with iPhone, but once you start customizing the phone to your needs, pixel wins.

The good thing about YT tech reviewers is that they always use the word "Personally".
in north america you particularly like iphones. if your love for iphones are so great then avoid comparisons and keep in your mind that it is the best phones. I have a Pixel and an iPhone and from my long-term experience I conclude that Pixels are better as long as they are constantly evolving. even though you say that technically the tensor chips are behind it is a false story, because google is not an idiot and it knows very well what it is doing without forgetting that they have all the capital to prove it anyone that they are the best of the best. but their project is more revolutionary than anything you've ever known on a smartphone and no one talks about it. I would even say that it is the phone that becomes the most efficient over time without even upgrading to a new model. I have never seen this from a manufacturer. before switching to pixel 8, I had a pixel 6 and an ipone 13. I was really surprised to see that over the years my pixel 6 became more efficient as time went by, it's so impressive, and everything This happens without necessarily waiting for major updates of course. even the native micro applications which manage the gpu, wifi, network, camera, microphone are constantly updated unlike iphones and samsungs where you always have to wait for an annual update to progress
The Pixel 6 got more efficient but started from such a low point that it appears dramatic, whereas is reality, it is just catching up to where it should have been. I have had every Pixel and there are undoubted efficiency improvements, more so for Android 14, but it is nothing special; as for photos, rivals have caught up, and video remains average. Many AI software is US-only, and I am not sure the average user is too concerned with AI ATM. The iPhone was clearly better apart from having 60Hz and that is not a big deal as it means even with a much smaller battery (1000mAh less), it matches the Pixel 8!

So I actually went with the iPhone and I’m happier with it even though I like android better. I don’t understand why Google doesn’t take their phone hardware as serious as a software

I don't get it. Yes the iPhone hardware is great but iOS is not. Place the settings for the apps in the apps please and let folks move icons where they want. Also Google services don't work nearly as well on the iPhone as they do on the Pixel. Dynamic island is pretty useless; the action button is inconvenient; editing text is cumbersome and Siri is pretty dumb. This is coming from a guy who owns other Apple products. I just sold my iPhone 15 Pro Max so I could buy the Pixel 8 Pro and I'm so much happier.
I have been a Pixel fan for years, and reliability is my major issue, as most have had issues, and many have stopped working. My Pixel 7 Pro FP sensor has just given up, my Pixel 6 Pro had to be replaced due to dead pixels, and my Pixel 8 Pro is already having issues that I hope are just software (freezing apps, swipe not working, etc). I still have my iPhone 11PM that works flawlessly, and peace of mind from paying extra for quality is undervalued.
While I do agree that Iphone 15 has a more powerful processor, better optimization and better video. I have to disagree with some things.
1. Pixel has a better design and display. Apple's design, especially the non-pro models have been somewhat similar ever since the iPhone 11. Also 60Hz refresh rate in 2023, Seriously? I don't even know how you can justify that.
2. Apple's UI has been the same for years now and how come it is a good use of space when the pixel isn't? The notifications on iPhone are still a mess compared to android in general. Widgets are better on the iPhone though ngl.

The display tech of the Pixel 8 line is ranked 1st globally. You mentioned that the iPhone has a better color reproduction. Completely false. Pixel 8 scored 163 out of 164 points in color reproduction. The iPhone 15 only 150. I could go on and on. The quality of the two displays is not even comparable. This is the problem with so-called Tech You Toubers. They review based on hunches and bias and not real tests. Doing so they spread half truths and sometimes even completely false facts. You have a responsibility to your followers to be unbiased and well informed. Apparently you are not. Sad
