The iPhone 15 might not be a leap from the iPhone 14, but it brings just enough new features and updates that it feels like a proper step forward. And I know this because the base model iPhone 15 is actually the phone I have used the most in the past few weeks -- sometimes you want something simple and easy, and that is definitely the iPhone 15. To be fair if the base model had a high refresh screen i think alot of people would choose it over the pro
I would rather the 1hz - no need at all for more than 60hz to read my paper or watch streaming video.

At least 90hz with AOD. But Apple wants you to spend more, and get the Pro versions.
Honestly, I’ve only ever heard people talk about refresh rate online. No one I have ever talked to about phones in real life has ever mentioned the refresh rate. Everyone I know with a pro model bought it because of the cameras.
@@eamonob84gotta say, that refresh rate is the reason i went with pro model. It's a real issue noticeable in real life. Base model just doesn't feel as smooth.
My 60 year old mum definitely does not care if the base 15 is missing this or that. She just wants to use a simple phone to call and text. Seeing her still using the 1st gen SE, I would buy the base 15 for her just for the security updates. To each their own.
At that point just get a prepaid XR for $50 dollars
maybe get her 2022 SE. she might not used to the new ui and big screen....
Speaking of 1st gen SE, im still using mine.. strong sturdy small phone..😊

Just got one for my wife and this regular 15 takes better photos than my 14promax. That alone, and the pink color justified the price for me. She doesnt care about 120hz anyway, she just after the color 😂.

USB C was a big deal for me as an Android user. But not even 90hz or the action button on this model is really a deal breaker
No action button is a deal breaker? I get that 60hz is a deal breaker for some with sensitive eyes (I myself don't mind 60hz, I have 120hz phone but I keep it 60hz to save battery, I forget it fast whether I set it 60hz or 120hz), but this is the first time I find someone who really needs that action button.
@@allhailriseagree. I think even in the Android field if you ask anyone which they will prefer between Oneplus's slider or Samsung's Bixby key (even assuming that you can edit it to be anything you want) I think the majority will pick the slider.
@@allhailriseapple should have atleast given 90Hz display and faster usb. They intentionally holds their users back or try to push to upgrade.

As an android user for a long time, getting a 15 base model is the only choice for camera and software update

I was using an 8 plus and went for the 15 Pro Max, and I'm enjoying this beefed up version od iOS and the hardware. My Pixel 7 Pro is still my main phone though 😏

Love my iPhone 15 Pro Max but I can’t give up my iPhone 12 mini. I hope the next SE uses the mini format. Wish there were fewer issues swapping back and forth between iPhones with eSIM tech. It’s seamless but there are glitches with iMessage, FaceTime and Apple Watch support.
Mini is dead and not coming back...why would they use it again for the SE if tge reason for dropping the model was because nobody bought it
@@MusicNotes2024 it was killed because it was overpriced. It’s an amazing phone. Light, easy one handed operation. If the form factor can be used as the next SE (and SE priced) I’m sure it will be better received.
@@MusicNotes2024Nobody bought it because of the price. One of my friends bought the 13 mini as she prefers a smaller phone but still citing the price that's way too high.
I can bet you that if the next SE is basically the 13 mini with 14 chipset and pricing not over $500, it'll be quite a challenge for Android even for bang for the buck brands like Xiaomi (and their subbrands) or BBK.

I just switched from a oneplus due to abysmal software updates and it had 120hz refresh rate. Trust me the iPhone 15 is smooth despite the number saying 60
I use an iPhone 12 mini (purple) & an iPhone 13 mini (white)
I will not upgrade my phones until Apple releases a new mini. I love small tech 💜

I must have watched 100s of reviews, just to stumble upon this one and I have to say it answered all my questions and they were enough to help me decide to buy the base 15, but before I do can someone please confirm I have a few pairs of IEMs and other headsets with type-C, would all work with the 15?
If you’re tech has Bluetooth connectivity then it’s more than likely it will connect to your new iPhone just as long as it’s not one of those devices that aren’t compatible with Apple products. But most Bluetooth compatible devices will connect to it but again some aren’t compatible.

I tried to tell myself to get a regular 15, but I can’t get over how huge it is over my 13 mini. The 13 mini is just as fast as the 15 and can be used with one hand. Hopefully the new SE uses the mini chassis. So tired of huge ass phones.
the old school 5.8 would be a great size for the mini.. mini is a bit too small, but 6.1 is a bit too big , 5.8 is just apss perfect size

I would get the iPhone 15 pro. Since I use an iPhone 12 mini for my second phone and I use the Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra as my daily driver. And I don’t need another huge phone. To carry around.

Apple should only have an iPhone 15 with 2 cams along with an iPhone 15 Pro with 3 cams and a big screen. Both should be 120hz. They don't really need 4 models.
Never understand the 120hz fuss 😮 I have the standard 15 and see no issues at all. I did look at the 15 pro as I normally have the pros but the colours were just awful this year so went the the green 😀 luv it.
If you don't see the difference then it's not a problem , but many do and that;s why it's a problem . It would have been nice to see the reg 15 get 90 hz.
The thing is, you're paying for flagship price, so you deserve flagship service. And having 60hz display on a phone like the 15 in 2023 with its price is unacceptable

That's you. Others do see an issue with it. Many Android phones have a refresh rate with AOD.

Nice job ...Seems like the "pro" models are made for you guys who make a living producing videos for you tube , also for people who like to spend their free time after work gaming on a phone . The reg iPhone 15 would be a better value for " normal" people whatever that means and have a life outside of the tech world IE work, kids,exerice-sports ,reading and so on . Anyway that's what I got out of the video .
Yeah no.. it’s a pass for me, I’m glad you didn’t quit apple when they said said that people won’t notice the screens refresh rate, most people won’t notice OLED over LCD but they made that change. Looks like yet another cash grab from the king of cash grabs. I’ll stick with the 11 and see what the SE brings, if that’s even a thing who knows
Aesthetically, the lightning connector is smaller and more discreet than the USB-C. Had the EU not made the latter compulsory, I think Apple may have kept the former a bit longer.

I think there is no point in buying this phone when you can buy 11 pro much cheaper and basically they are the same phones. But 15 pro is in another level and 120hz and 3 cameras give a lot.
Because Apple doesn't sell the 11 Pro so everyone you find for sale is going to be refurbished with a used up battery, very noticeable worse camera, no magsafe and no warranty...you're better off using the 11 pro as a trade in
@@MusicNotes2024 Of course 15 camera better, but people don't see difference because they don't see difference 60hz vs 120hz. And you can find 11 pro with 100% battery. And why a warranty for a phone for which you paid less than 300. I just want to say that 11 pro is much closer to 15 than 15 is closer to 15 pro. It's just either buy a completely cheap iphone or 15 pro
