    The tonal balance and dynamic range in the MR 4 is excellent!! And it being affordability makes it a steal! Tremendous value specially for the music lovers who love accurate music reproduction.

      @@BastyTHz one thing that I tested, and got working fine, is using a subwoofer on the RCA output and the speakers on the P10 output on my audio interface. I haven't gotten the MR4 exactly, but if that's the issue, you can have both of them working at the same time without necessarily connecting them to each other.

    To me the 1700 is clearly v-shaped but you can EQ that. MR4 can be v-shaped from EQ too. Strangely, according to measurements the Music mode is better/flatter on MR4. For close range use, for someone who likes many types of music or plays virtual instruments I would get MR4, I would use the balanced connections or shielded RCA cables and I would use desktop stands to raise them at head level. For multimedia it would be easier to use 1700. I doubt you can buy better speakers up to 2x the price, unless there's some big sale in your country for a specific model

    It's always a metal music that exposes the difference most. Metal has the sensitive low mid, mid range that a lot of speakers struggle to produce correctly.

    Compared both in a shop, 100% R1700BT for me. The MR4 is lacking some details, more obvious when you listen to music with more instruments. MR4 = casual users/listeners.

    Another great comparison, thanks! MR4 all the way, I'm very impressed. The 1700 is way too sharp in the highs and has hardly any detail nor character in the mids and lows. The MR4s are warm sounding but still balanced from high to low and very pleasant to hear.

    The gap is huge. More often, the MR4 restores better, and more often, the 1700 has stronger drumming and rhythm. In the part of DEEP, I think 1700 is the clear winner, while in the part of LONG NIGHT, MR4 is the clear winner in the vocal part of the first part. 1700 is too much cavity sound. For man on fire and jazz I don't think there's much difference. Vocals and mid - to high-pitched parts I thought the MR4 was cleaner, while the 1700 was so-so.

After testing my new Edifier MR4, I hear a very slight noise that comes only from the tweeters of each speaker, it is like white noise or interference and it increases when the volume of the monitors is turned up. The sound does not come from the other connected devices, since the noise is heard even when I only have the monitors connected, without plugging anything else. I have also tried it with several current outlets and the sound persists. My question is, is this noise normal? For what is this? Is it normal or the one I have was faulty? THANK YOU

    Note that the left & right channels of both pairs of speakers here have been reversed, with the result that natural 3D stereo imaging & realism is lost during music playback and both pairs of speakers are not really sounding at their best.
    The speaker having volume, bass & treble controls and input/power indicator is known as the active speaker. This is the right channel speaker and should be positioned on the right, while the other speaker without similar controls and indicator is the passive speaker which plays the the left channel and should therefore be positioned on the left. It is absolutely vital to ensure correct placement of left and right speakers to enjoy your music or movies. Otherwise you'll find the car whizzing by on the left of your TV monitor screen, while the sound effect is coming from the right speaker.
    If you own any pair of stereo speakers you should always verify their correct placement by playing back left/right stereo channel test videos available on TH-cam.

      mr4 itu speaker monitor, untuk kerjaan audio mixing, editing dll, karakter suaranya lebih flat. kalo 1700 itu speaker biasa, lebih punchy karakter suaranya

    I've had the presonus 3.5 and got rid of them. Just weren't my thing. I'm looking at something around the same size and price-range. I don't do any audio editing stuff just use the speakers for PC gaming, listening to all kinds of genres of music behind my pc. But I also listen to music from my bed which is to the right side of the speakers, so not right in front. I connect my speakers with a topping DX3pro+ which also has BT. Will these be a nice pair of speakers to enjoy my music and pc audio with? Or is it really worth it for my use case to go at least €150,- more for Iloud Micro? I don't want a subwoofer in my room or anything.
    Examples of music I listen: Lo-fi beats, 80's music, Bowie, Prince, Bladerunner soundtrack by Vangelis, dite Straits...

    mr4 clearly not for everyone, flat and boring, typical monitor speaker.
    average listener would enjoy r1700bt more.

    The R1700 is good for pop music even without using equalizer because it has a V-shape sounding.
    The MR4 is good for classial music and jazz. For pop music it needs a bit EQ because it has a flat sounding.

    Hi, bro. THANK YOU

    • @JuanSanchez-go6zm
      @JuanSanchez-go6zm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The noise always appears, connected to the interface and disconnected, even only connected to the power the slight noise is still present and increases if the volume of the monitor is increased. The only weird thing I can think of is that these monitors don't have a ground plug.

    • @rikimiki12
      @rikimiki12 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's normal if you hear it only very close. If you hear it at 0.5-1 meter it's something else. If you're using RCA inputs you can buy a Behringer hum destroyer (very cheap) to convert unbalanced outputs to balanced outputs. That would fix any noise from computer or some near device, like wifi router. If you can't find that try to find a galvanic isolator with RCA. If you have balanced outputs on your sound card then always use those, not RCA. If you are using a laptop or desktop with no external sound card, but you have optical spdif output then get a cheap spdif->rca DAC. It'll disconnect your computer from the speakers and prevent hiss/hum.
      Also, use high volume from the sound card then adjust the volume on speakers.
