Funny how people in North America believe that BMWs are not reliable. They are very reliable if you maintain them properly. If you want a car for 300k + km just get a Toyota diesel from 1985 or a 4 pot Honda. They are cheap to maintain and indestructible.
I keep my beamers for 150 to 200k km and then get then new ones so reliability issues are for the next customer.

While this vehicle may have many positive attributes and have the newest technology, when I am looking at getting a new vehicle , reliability and cost of ownership enter into my purchase decision.
I think of BMW’s as a vehicle to lease rather than one to purchase due to reliability concerns . As such it may be the best midsize luxury vehicle for a lease but if you are interested in purchasing, the Lexus GX is hard to beat.
This one, with the inline 6, is the most reliable one in the line up. Mostly because of the Toyota joint venture where this same 6 cyl is used in the new Supra. Honestly, many independent bmw shops have called this 6 cyl the most reliable across bmw.
Update: BMW has dropped the fee for Apple Car play. My guess is they just raised the price of the car, LOL. 🤣😂🤣
What? Rear seats don't recline??
How cars enthusiasts would prefer a v6 with 335 hp over V8 with 523hp..?
Because the v6 has enough power for this vehicle not to mention gas mileage. If power is what you want them go all the way and get the M. Another note, BMW has some of the most unreliable v8’s in the business. Believe that!

The bmw you are driving is not as floaty as the gle benz cause you are driving the firmer M version. If you were driving the xdrive without the M package it's floatier than the benz gle
This particular M Sport version was optioned with air suspension (according to them) - which makes it equal to the non M Sport air suspension models on Comfort mode. 21” wheels in their test drive model will also make a big difference where the standard models typically come in 19” with thicker side walls.
I too would rather my radio stays on until I Lock the doors!
Why underrate an engine?
Maybe for insurance?
GM was doing that in the 60's and 70's in their muscle cars for insurance purposes. it's not uncommon for car companies to do so for that reason. now with the EPA wanting to confirm engine output it's getting harder to do.

My only issues with BMW SUVs are:
1)That stupid split lift/tail gate. The bottom portion just adds extra length to the cargo area, making it a little more difficult to reach items that may have shifted forward, especially for shorter people;
2)Like it was mentioned near the end of the video, the gesture thing to control the center stack may have improved over the years, but the idea of taking my hand off the wheel to adjust something that is literally less than three inches away from my hand is just stupid. Plus, as seen in this video, while trying to rotate the camera view, it accidentally reads a hand movement and the view shifts back-and-forth instead of the same direction. It still has a long way to go;
3)Mercedes-Benz changed from a mechanical shifter in the center console and placed their electronic DirectSelect shifter on the steering column to open up the center console for more storage and for a cleaner, less cluttered look. The idea of switching from a mechanical shifter to an electronic shifter and leaving it in the console is kinda stupid.
All in all, it is a beautiful vehicle, as most German vehicles are, there's just some ideas I can't seem to get my head around.
I disagree, the split tailgate gives us place to sit out of the rain. Also when you are towing: a full-size tailgate would hit the winch on the trailer's tongue jack.
I love the split tailgate! It gives us a place to sit and talk while changing our shoes after a hike, a sun protected place to tailgate and I find it quite useful. Isn’t it funny how the world can see things so differently? There’s no right or wrong. Just different.
I alway found BMWs to be cartoonish when I first saw it on the street. Blame that to that grill. I literally thought no person with a conventional approach would ever own and drive this cartoonish car. Mercedes and Audi looked far formal to own and drive. Certainly, I didn’t know the segment BMW, Audi and Mercedes belonged to when I first learnt about them. But....after learning how much a BMW costs to own and run, it made sense to me why it looked so distinguished - because people who own them are themselves a distinguished personalities. Still, I can’t get away with how peculiar BMW looks amongst the German trio.
