I said to myself when I opened this video "I'm going to give this guy a like if he teaches me something useful" 10 minutes in, I realized that my jaw was hanging open the entire time due to the amount of useful information that was here. Good job, sir!
I have been searching for weeks for a video that is beginner friendly and to the point. This is the perfect tutorial.Thank you so much for breaking down each step slowly and clearly. You did an amazing job !!!!! You just gained a new subscriber!!!
Hi Mr. Nielsen, I just wanted to tell you, thank you so much for making this video! I have been searching for days for a video that was easy to follow and comprehensive on how to color line art! This was the best by far, that I found. It was so easy to follow each step and I really appreciate you explaining why you did what you did, rather than just saying, do this, then do that, without explaining the WHY! Thank you so much!
Great video. Great techniques you're showing. People who enjoy coloring line-art could consider to take up a side-job as a "Flatter" (or "Flattener") for comic book artists.
You are CORRECT! The equivalent of OPTION-DELETE on a MAC is.... ALT KEY and the BACKSPACE KEY on a PC. The reason I mentioned the Mac Keyboard Shortcut is because I am recording on my Mac and ALL the computer graphics classes I have taught have always been in MAC LABS.... The best way to think about my demos is that the COMMAND KEY on a Mac is the CONTROL KEY on a PC. And the OPTION KEY on a Mac is the ALT KEY on a PC. Good Luck!
I'm finding that when I go to paint for the shading (11:43 ish) the paint isn't coming out the right colour - instead of a darker colour of what I want it's more grey. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Without seeing your physical Photoshop File, I will have to make a guess here.... Make sure your Brush Blending Mode is set to NORMAL on the Options Bar across the top. And Make sure the OPACITY of the Brush Tool is set to 100 Percent. Let me know if that solves the problem. - Chris.
I teach computer graphics classes at 4 Different Colleges... and they ALL use MAC LABS. So, I made these tutorial videos for my students who are also using MACs.
hands down the best tutorial. it's rare to find an explanation of not just how, but also why. thank you so much
Wow Elena! THANK YOU SO MUCH. I am really glad to hear that this tutorial helped you out.
