I have been using photoshop for more than 10 years and have avoided the pen tool. This was an outstanding tutorial. I can believe I hadn't tapped into the power of the pen tool. It would have saved me so much time in my workflow and added more a refined look to my artwork!!! Thank you!!!
I can’t even explain in words how I am thankful landing on this lesson. I am just a beginner on this and this video explains everything than the formal course I am taking ! Amazingly explains and motivates to open up the app immediately to start with pen tool! Thank you so very much 🙏🙏
What a Superb tutorial. This is the ABSOLUTE best Pen tutorial I have ever watched. Super clear, thorough, and complete. It even includes the link for practicing using the Pen. On a scale of 1 to 10 this gets a score of 15 :) Thanks so much for taking all of the time to create such an excellent tutorial !
This is by far the best channel for Photoshop tutorials. I can't find anyone else with his ease at explaining and showing everything that needs to be shown. Thank you PiXimperfect for creating all this for free. Please continue the awesome work!!
I've used Photoshop since around 1998 and being 52 I've become somewhat stagnant in my willingness to *Learn!* You my friend are a Talented Teacher as well as Photoshop Expert. I have also been watching your videos for a while and actually *_Learning_* a few very useful things that I could never get my narrow(ed) mind around! Thank You Sir! I simply couldn't fully grasp the Pen Tool from the beginning but I've bumbled through modifying Selections instead. I almost grasped it once when working as a Signmaker but this moment right now is monumental! I am just now subscribing and thumbing this vijeo up because you've been elevated into the rarefied air where the Gods Of Design reside!
Thank to Allah he created you and thanks to you who made this desperately needed tutorial on scary pen tool .finally learnt ,such a comprehensive explanation 🎉
College Photoshop class; was told to outline and select a complex scene, (a trainstation and a tower) using the pen tool. They never taught HOW to use the pen tool. I wish i could make vector images like esport logos, but i just cant get used to the pen tool. Less than 10mins in youve taught me more than that class. Using the pen tool even to outline simple shapes to me is like driving in reverse while going up a vertical wall using a joystick. I.. just.. cant... I still cant make a circle. Great video. And goodluck to everyone watching/learning!
I've watched so many tutorials where they gloss over a small piece of information, or don't explain something properly, or skip steps. This is not one of those videos. Excellent, the way you repeat and explain every step is brilliant and means the information actually sticks. Thanks!!
This tutorial is clear, instructive and helpful. I've read and watched a lot on the Pen tool and still struggled to figure it out. But your tutorial was exactly what I needed. I never usually bother to record TH-cam authors, but I'll be coming back to you for help again, I'm sure.
The pen tool has baffled me for so many years! I've been following Unmesh for about a year and decided to see if there were any videos on the channel specifically about the pen tool. This is a fantastic video - as usual you take the mystery away and teach in bite size chunks - I can't thank you enough.
That workflow suggestion of placing all the points and moving the lines and moving the lines later is genius. You just saved me a ton of time on the learning curve (no pun intended). Amazing. I had been struggling even after watching different videos. That one change changed everything. Thank you!
The "$10 Thanks" *should* say "thank you both for being such an incredible teacher and for helping me understand this up until now completely baffling tool, which is now ROCKING my graphic world!
Thank you for putting this tutorial together. The pen tool has been doing my head in for quite a while and after watching this and a little practice I'm so much more proficient with it and I finally understand why people rave about its functionality so much.
I've been a product photographer for a few years and have always dreaded trying to use the pen tool when making masks. I finally get it and this will save me so much time and headaches. Thank you!
Wow! such a detailed but to the point tutorial. One of the best educators I've ever experienced. Especially love the recap at the end to reinforce all the key learning points.
I have been working on Photoshop for the last 13 years. but after seeing your every video, I always feel that I'm new to this. You explain things very clearly and in a very detailed manner. which no one else does. 14 years back my instructor was not that helpful to clear my all doubts. I wish it could! Nowadays, I'm 100% sure that most of the computer institute's instructors are not well informed but money-oriented. But you are doing really great work which is helping lots of people/ students who are not able to pay the huge amount to a computer institute. Thanks a lot
Can I just say that after living with an ex graphic designer for three years and her repeated attempts to get me to use paths and explain why they are better, you've convinced me and taught me a great skill/technique that I would not have learned otherwise in my 47 years on this earth. You have my undying gratitude. Bless you and stay safe!
You have been so influential in my learning Photoshop and how the Pen Tool can make things so easy. You have kept me learning new things during this Pandemic when we're stuck in the house while we go through these hard times. Keep up the great work and the motivation.
I tried using this tool myself and the handles bamboozled me hard, forcing me to rely on different methods of selection, this video has truely enligtned me, even just the convert point tool allowing to break handles remove or add them has elevated my level of skill with this software to a new degree, even though the shortcuts are different on correldraw(the software i use at work) it gave me the sense of understanding i need to implement it there, thanks a bunch brother.
I was just coming to the comments to say exactly this same thing. I learned more about the pen tool than I have in a long time of using PS on the side. :)
Thank you for the simple explanation and easy to follow instructions. I'm a long time, though not frequent, user of photoshop and I need the occasional reminder of the basics. I think the last time I used photoshop was about 2 years ago, so, there've been a couple of versions since then and no lack of changes and improvements. My current challenge has been to convert a raster image to vector and then cleaning up the resulting vectors to join points and manage the handles accordingly. Your tutorial was spot on and then some! Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge....
Wow... I can't say enough how fantastic this video is. THANK YOU FOR REPEATING THINGS. I feel like that's the biggest issue newbies have when following tutorials of any kind. I have the memory of a goldfish so it's imperative that I'm reminded repetitively of the little things or I get lost very quickly into the video. It takes awhile for things to sink in, so I really appreciate the extra effort you've put in to truly TEACHING rather than just "showing". You've gained a new subscriber, and thanks again! 😊
This is very good! The only thing missing is, if you want to make two curves with a sharp point like the moon, you can alt click right on the node before the next curved line and you won’t have to deal with that handle at the sharp point. That may have made no sense because I’m not the best teacher ;)
This guy is a great teacher. I learned more in this one video than I did in the entire pen tool unit in a Photoshop class that required hours of my time. EXCELLENT video!
I have your been using PS for about 15 years all self taught. The pen tool totally intimated me and I know it will take practice, however, your tutorial will really help me. Thank you very much
An extra life-saving tip: After selecting the Pen tool, click the Gear icon on the options bar (next to the Auto Add/Delete) and check Rubber Band. This will give you a preview of the path you gonna create with the Pen tool everytime.

Congratulations to you and your team for putting together such a great tutorial.

I have never liked an Indian tutorial video before. you're the first my dude
Because he doesn't sound a lot like Indian
you do understand that this is a disrespectful thing to say, right? ...its really disappointing to see so many of his comments basically dehumanizing him and constantly pointing out his race and accent and essentially saying things like "you're one of the GOOD indians". its weird, stop
@@cornbone imagine Indian telling you that everyone is right and you are mistaken 😂 even the piximperfect would say the same. Maybe you havent seen enough indian tutorials.
So they are generally bad?@@commandroid9336

I never learned and consolidated my knowledge about the pen tool in photoshop as fast as this video did for me in 30 minutes... Amazing!

Oh I thought he said "Here" Lol !! 🤣🤣 Like when he says Vector, it sounds like Wector. I thought at first that there was legit a thing as a Wector until I realized he only meant Vector. True Story.
