This video is probably the single best video on the real explanations and benefits of gravity bleeding. The only thing I would note is sometimes when you crack the bleeders, fluid does not want to flow straight away. In some cases, it's good to pump the brakes BEFORE you open the master cylinder cap and crack the bleeders. It creates the needed pressure so when you crack the bleeder, the flow of old fluid will start to flow. I have seen many people crack their bleeders, wait 40 minutes to an hour and no fluid was being gravity feed out of the line. I told them to close/tighten all the bleeders and tighten the master cylinder reservoir cap. Pump the brakes several times over and over. Then follow the process outlined in this video. Hope it helps.
This is exactly what I gotta do on my 03 marauder. I never knew the old pumping up the brakes method could actually damage the seal on master cylinder piston or spool thingy. Very good information
Brilliant method of bleeding brakes. Pull up a chair, light up a big cuban Cohiba, a shot of Chivas, keep the reservoir topped up and presto!...fresh brake feel!
Thank you. One question, if air is in the master cylinder, will this process evacuate that air, or will the fluid entering the master cylinder from the reservoir just bypass the air and continue down through the brake line at the same rate it enters the master cylinder from the reservoir effectively leaving the air in there?
@@kalani1987 oh ok, but it really doesnt matter where you start long as all the air is out. The front and back are on separate lines anyway and are not connected as a fail safe other than when the master cylinder is out of fluid.
On an MGB, the bleeders of the rear cylinders are on the bottom rather than on the top. Will gravity bleeding still work? Seems like an air bubble will forever be trapped.
P Peterson. Good point. Can I ask you, is your MG fitted with a servo? I was taught that vehicles fitted with this component needed the engine running to bleed the brakes. Any thoughts? Cheers.👍
I don’t even own a car but this guy sounds so convincing I bleed my neighbors car . This system works ok on vehicles , but not so much on motorcycles ......... beware . Personally , nothing bleeds like a pressure bleeder .

Wow! Never thought I would enjoy a video where the demonstrations were not done on a real car. This was perfect. Thank you sir!!
Best video yet for explaining gravity bleeding.

As always from Moss Motors, well done. It is a good idea to purchase a brake fluid tester to check water content. They are inexpensive.

Vacuum bleeding is common. But as my science and electronic teacher liked to say "gravity sucks"
Liked you video, 👍

Gravity way is the easiest and safest. Good video job.
Great video as I just reinstalled my master cylinder yesterday.
I've heard that instead of starting on the wheel furthest from the master cylinder, start furthest from the ABS module, if equipped. Thoughts?
The abs module is usually under the master cylinder.
@@AUDIO2AUTO on my car the abs is located toward the front right of the engine bay and master cylinder in the rear near firewall

I love these videos, please keep doing them

well explained smart man i think weve all been there at some poin twhy buy expensive pressure bleeders simple works best
Can this method be used with a new master cylinder on a '72 MGB? Is the procedure the same?
Will this process work with abs equipped vehicles?
What’s with the hands ?

Will this method change the fluid on the low pressure side of the piston below the replenishment port ?
excellent point. love u
Very well explained!
Great video.
