  • Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a non contact leg injury and looked back like he had been kicked after sustaining the injury. This sight is all too familiar and concerning to sports fans, but how bad actually is it?

KD was plagued with calf injuries leading to his achilles tear. Remember, Dray critisized him faking it. Then when he was somewhat cleared to return, his achilles snapped. Calf injuries are a precursor to achilles tear.

As many Weekend Sports Players, I’ve had this injury twice! Each calf muscle had a tear. I did the same thing Karl did. I thought my brother kicked me in my calf after I grabbed a rebound. I looked back and he was 10 feet away. So weird to have that feeling! I fully recovered in 2 months and was always able to walk around, even with some discomfort. Ankle area turned black and blue a couple days after the injury.

something similar happened to me multiple times in high school as a basketball player. both times I had my coach massage my right calf muscle and was back in a week..

We would train twice a day on Wednesdays and it happened when I was severely fatigued and taking off for a layup in traffic under the hoop. Both actions happened a month apart on the same day of the week.

I always wondered why the Achilles’ tendon needs to be so long and then I realized that the calf muscle needs to be close to the knee for efficiency. If the calf was down by the ankle, it would be like having ankle weights on. Pretty cool that nature figured this out.

Some from that group ended up playin with us later. We’re runnin the fast break, I’m passed the ball nd as I planted my foot. As soon as I lifted my heel, I felt such force, that I looked behind myself as I decelerated instantly. I immediately thought maybe one of the lax players ended up hitting my heel with their lax ball by accident. It felt like such a small, dense hit that I was lookin for a ball that may have rolled off nearby but the guys said the ball was still resting in the stick. Some random dude commented it may be my achilles but I shrugged it off, suggesting it was my heel; I didn’t fully understand the connection😅. I couldn’t bear weight on the back of my foot but I never got it properly checked out. I was back to bearing weight comfortably (running) after 2-3 weeks

This sucks specially if it’s a serious injury and it’s his Achilles but with that said the twolves are just screwed. That move they made will not be good because Rudy is no leader and the way he talks and feels himself is not good because he doesn’t have the talent so won’t get respect. Now KAT this guy is also not good for a team if he needs to be a leader. He has a lot of skill and I’m sure he’s a good guy but he’s just a goofball and doesn’t bring that presence. And hearing him talk he’s just awkward and communication sucks. Dlo is just some average guy and their priced possession ant man just has a different swag and ain’t gona listen or put up with these bosses no offense so they need to trade either him or towns for a leader who can speak up and people will listen
