At 6:29, when re-installing the rear wheel, that would also be a magnificent time to re-grease your axle. Lots of riders neglect this. Makes such a huge difference. I have always used the blue marine grease you can get at walmart.
@Trav Ohlsen Which bike are you riding? Is it the jam nut that is stripped or is it the bolt head or threads? If it's any of the above you'll have to remove them any way you can and just replace the parts. If it's the threads in the swingarm that are stripped you'll have to drill and tap them and you can use a heli coil or something similar to fix them but it just depends on which part is stripped.
I changed the rear sprocket and rear wheel but not the front sprocket and chain. When i spin the rear wheel on the stand the chain seems to grip as it leaves the sprocket at the top and then ping off the sprocket. Could this be wheel alignment or is it likely to need a new chain and front sprocket?
When I was a kid, my friend was riding his bmx bike and reached down to check his chain ... he kept peddling and his fingers went into the front sprocket. His fingers stayed there until his dad came and loosened the back rim and got the chain loose 😮
OK, To get the correct torque reading the torque wrench should be put on the Nut, not the bolt head. Using the bolt head will give an false reading due to measuring the addtional friction of turning the bolt in the sprocket. Always apply torque to the nut in these applications! 🙂
I wouldn't say all the way forward. But you might have to move them forward a little bit just to get the new chain over all the teeth on the sprockets and install the master link. Be sure to check your owners manual for the correct amount of chain slack for your bike.
my chain adjuster are stripped i do not know how to bring it back i got a new chain and i didnt know they were stripped its a 2nd hand bike any tips plz
So when removing/installing the rear wheel, you can just slip it out of the break? Their is nothing you have to disassemble to get the wheels disc out of the break itself?
I've seen too many sprocket bolts loosen up and ruin the sprocket and hub. A little threadlocker is extra security and insurance to ensure that won't happen. - Wes

and at the end make sure the axle blocks are pushed up against the adjuster bolts unless you want your wheel falling off
Brilliant channel glad I found it. You guys are going to save me a fortune.
What a great video really simple to follow.
A fantastic presentation and a excellent video, sir. Much appreciated.
Does the press tool remove plates as well or is that never an issue.
3:35 blows my mind someone would wear down a sprocket that far
How many ppl buy motorcycles and not knowing what they are doing
There’s no way she was moving with any type of balls lol
A lot of people lol@@darkisato

My current bike chain is stretched out to the back. Does that mean my new chain I move the axel blocks all the way forward. ?

@@rmatvmcthank you
Good job
Great vid, thanks!
Can also use an impact on the nut on front sprocket
Where would be the best place to put a chain idler on a softail motorcycle, on the swing arm itself?
What about removing masterlink plate?
It may have already been said but there is no need to add Threadlock on Nylock nuts.
yes there is, peace of mind ;) ,double protection

Yeah that is usually how it is. Sometimes it is a pain to slip the brake back in between the pads .
Will that sprocket removal tool work on a sportbike? Does the tool have a specific name? Can I by it on your website?
This tool is designed for 520 Motorcycle Sprockets.. Here is a link: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/756/47349/Sprocket-Stuff-Counter-Sprocket-Tool
Why do you add thread lock when the nuts are already supplied as locknuts? Belt and braces perhaps?

Do all primary drive kits come with bolts?
Lol someone decided to paint the casesaver mid video!
Oliver Castle Ha ha ha, nice catch! That orange-ish yellow/ gold wasn't matching anything... ha ha Thanks for watching!
What tool set do I need to change my sprockets 17t and 45t
Just a good 'ol set of metric hand tools. End wrenches, Ratchet/Sockets, Allen wrenches, etc.
Ok got it Thnks only other concern is when I change the chain do I need a chain breaker and how do I keep my rear wheel true
I've converted a cr 125 to a supermoto. Any suggestions on gearing? I was considering either 14/45 - 14/42
i have 15-42 on my ktm exc 125 supermoto:) top speed of about 160 km/h
If I go down three teeth on the rear do I need a shorter chain?
only if your adjusters are too far out already
He forgot to put lube in the master link, but I forgive him!!
He's probably the guy that cheesed the front sprocket too haha.
Your rear sprocket really wasn't that bad
but like they said don't skimp out and replace one because it's gonna shred the new parts realllly fast
I’ve seen worse😊
Always replace both sprockets and chain at the same time or you will end up ruining the new parts
TUSK!!!!!
