Ashton Moir has the x, that's what the Blues need. Those sticky fingers and the poise to advantage from "A" situation is what the Blues absolutely want. With Owies gone, that leaves a certain inflexibility we should/could have taken advantage of to provide balance. Variety on the ground is what Carlton must aim for to blend with the obvious tall forward talent. Re: Owies, let's hope that Jaxon can provide something that we already had.
I think this is the year the 2022 draftees REALLY start to pay us back. Hollands, Cowan & Binns are all primed for a big year. I think Hudson O’Keefe is one that’s potentially flown under the radar but back up ruckman will be important this year!
The young players need to be shown some faith by the selection committee when their form is strong. They also need to be persisted with and given some genuine game time with well defined team roles. Every position in this team must be earned and getting a senior jumper is about making the team better, especially over the long term. Selection integrity cannot be compromised because it's a guaranteed way of wrecking young player's development and confidence as well as poisoning team culture - and everybody knows where that leads a club to.
@wow_Jones_ikon injuries forced the selection committees hand in the last two rounds. It shouldn't need a crisis to reward a few young players during the years. Bins for example played consistently in the reserves and didn't get a call up until the last two rounds. They were making excuses about Moir that he couldn't play out a whole game. Lord was ready to play. They were scared to play inexperienced young talent. I bet the Tigers will show case a few if their young recruits in the opening round next year. We will probably do that with Jagga. Our club has turned into a very tentative, conservative and riskless organisation. They have improved under Vossy and Cookie but they are still scared.....
Kemp, for me, can take his forward experiment to the next level, and even if he doesn't, he can go back down back🤪 We need a mister fix it and Kemp, JSOS and Doc are it👏🤘
Evening Tez, yep good five though for me I think of Ollie more as a proven product, yes I think next year with the postion change he's going to go gang busters but that's already factored in my mind. Elijah is going to prove his draft position was spot on, as you say mate second year comfortable and confident so him i have in my five. Cowans same as Ollie for me, imbedded as senior player and continuely improving each year by some distance but like Ollie a form line I've factored is as expected so not that outside form imput. Mots is part of my list for all the reasons you discuussed, his improved form will be a bonus we didn't have last season. Binns top of the list, I think he showed end of the year he's potentail impact when started from first bounce and in right position. So I've Mots, Ellijah and Binns, I'm tossing up with Lord and Moir, each can have real impact in their positions if they fullfill their form potential. I think I'll pick Lord, his cleanness and lack of panic in the thick of it will be priceless to our centre play, if he can take that next step. My bolter is Billy Wilson, Look at his face end of last season when he wasn't picked, his hungry, he thinks he deserves his shot, he hasn't form in a senior game but you hear the club say his got talent, perfect petagree for a bolter. Like youu mate not putting Jagga up because I think he's ear marked to start the season and the talents undeniable, it why I went lord over Moir. Jagga lives up to expectations, lord takes that next step added to the talent already in the centre line, happy days. So this's my five, Binns, Mots, Ellijah, Lord and Billy Wilson
Agree with Hollands, he's ready. The one I'm not confident in is Motlop, I'm just not sure he's going to make it, but I sincerely hope he proves me wrong.
Sorry if I missed it but define “young”. Also, they all “can” make a difference. But for me the 5 that *will* make an impact are: Motlop, Moir, Jagga, Lord and O’Keefe (in the 2s).
He has proven he has uncanny goal kicking ability, hasn't proved continuity and consistency on that we can agree but after 3 consecutive injuries in 24 it really derailed his season I think we can give him some grace and fortunately he is young and has time on his side, we should expect good thing's
If the growth is going to come from the younger players, why do we have no salary cap left to allocate to their increased value? Terrible cap management still, within the footy department.

Great work, Tezz👏

Jaxon binns has got that dog in him. Huge potential for the future
Motlop and Moir stepping up will absolutely provide our forward line with another dimension we haven’t got
Ashton, I Don't know what it about this kid but he just gives me that fevola vibe.
I agree about Elijah, he is a hard-working addition who seems hungry, and if he can maintain that, Go Blues.

Absolutely agree with you Petra, the end of last season and the slowness in making needed change testament to that.

Hollands had a great 2023, but his poor kicking efficiency really let him down in 24

Ollie Hollands has to improve his decision-making and skill if he's going into defence!

23 and under he said
@@feelingnostalgic1806 however you define it - open to interpretation.
I was thinking of the guys with less than 4/5 pre-seasons
Motlop is yet to prove
He has proven he has uncanny goal kicking ability, hasn't proved continuity and consistency on that we can agree but after 3 consecutive injuries in 24 it really derailed his season I think we can give him some grace and fortunately he is young and has time on his side, we should expect good thing's
Elijah, Binns, Lord, Moir and Cowan 100%
Moir is our best young player
Moir needs game time he is going to be a gun

It's an interesting question.
Who says we have no salary cap left though?
Cowan
Okeefe
Jagga
Lord
