Silvagni and kemp to swing back or forward depending on the opposition. Silvagni has the better footy brain and can do minutes in the ruck, which can suit us seeing Tdk plays better without Pittonet in the team.
I think Brodie is a confidence player. Could play a number of positions and would be extremely useful on the bench with his flexibility. I feel there are more opportunities in the backline - particularly with McGovern’s history.
Having selection headaches is a healthy sign for the club - the injury problem that has plagued the team needs to be sorted out. Also, the low number of tattoos within the playing list is a real concern if this team has ambitions of going deep in finals. (Voss must show some strong leadership and get 20 or 30 tattoos himself over the Christmas break)
I also think we are future proofing certain roles. McGovern was initially going to play that role, but his body makes him unreliable. Jsos obviously is an option, but they like him as an option in the ruckas well . I think you will see those two and possibly McGovern getting thrown back and forward in those close games where the coaches are look for a game breaker, or when one is getting spanked . Moir will also get plenty of opportunity as that third tall. Match ups and game dynamics will determine role. I like it, I think we have been a bit one dimensional and one paced. Other teams were able to curtail our game style, so this allows changes mid game
This will be interesting to watch. Silvagni back in as well. The pressure acts inside the FWD50 need to improve. Could be a masterstroke given his ball reading and negating abilities
Kemp can read the ball well enough, not worried about that. It's about use and instruction. The way most teams defend Harry and Charlie, there is usually a gigantic open space at the top center of the forward 50, and usually a big gap in the top forward pocket on one side or the other (like where prime Jack Martin did his damage). All Kemp should do is see where the two big guys are and look the other way for a wide open space, and odds are he will have no trouble presenting a target near the arc. Of course, that requires some intelligence from our forwards coaching, so....
We have a lot of tall forwards, what we don't have is dangerous small forwards to sit at their feet. We just let our best small forward in 2024 go (that being Owies). I think it was a mistake to let him go. Ashton Moir looks dangerously instinctive around goals, give him opportunities. The other small forwards like Motlop still have a lot to prove. I think the team looks a little unbalanced by tagging Kemp as a forward proposition, especially when you have a player like Cripps, who I have already proposed, should play a half-forward role. SOS adds to the imbalance problem.
With JSOS returning n Kemp showing he can be a threat forward n with the twin towers around him it’d be a definite 3 prong headache. I’m believer in both being in our best 23. Maybe they interchange or maybe it’s as backup for JSOS knee. Versatility is a quality worth having within the team. Moir needs grooming forward also. Will be interesting to see who makes best 23 each week if injury curse has a season off for a change.
And another thing before all fans start building a statue outside Ikon park of Nick Austin thinking he pulled the coop of the year getting pick 3 and bragging about Carlton chose the best player in the draft and they told the world? On the outside Smith looks like or simply there’s no size about him he might struggle against bigger bodies ala Fisher simply went to water when contact was made.. No offence to the kid and l wish him well . By the way l don’t rate Jaxon Binns either what’s all the commotion about Binns. He has no size as well. Get my drift. Hawthorn has two players with no size Ginivan and the wizard the difference is compare the two with any of our players there’s nothing. Our backline consists of Weitering maybe Newman and Saad this is the problem. Midfield no pace is Smith the answer maybe in two years? Forward line no half forwards what rely on Durdin and Motlop. Again
Smith tore it up in the VFL against bigger bodies, and there's no draftees that are going to come in as built as Patrick Cripps. He can still make a positive impact now without being huge. Binns looked pretty good for the couple of games he played at AFL level too. You're underrating the backline, players like Cowan and Boyd have been good there too, plus we've just gotten Haynes in. Players like Elijah Hollands, Moir and Williams will be good next year in the forwardline, plus you're writing off Durdin and Motlop way too quickly. Both had injury interrupted seasons.
Cooper Lord looks snappy , I like that kid , but we are a way off , whilst being close , it's Back on Voss to get a winning style of game plan and execute it , Here's hoping !!! GO BLUES RARARA 😊
He's the same height as Jake Waterman who just was All Australian. He'd also be the third tall, so not exactly a key position player, just another marking option.
@@JaysonShaheen So would you rather just have Harry and Charlie as the talls so the opposition can put multiple defenders on both of them? Kemp will be able to draw players and free up space
I love Kempy Thats crazy to hear he’s only played 44 games Would love to see him be freed up to be creative and run and jump at marks while everyone is focused on H and Charlie But who plays as our second key defender is an itch I just can’t scratch 🤔

Had a really good chat with him on Saturday night. He’s pumped and ready to go in the forward line

Love the new intro! ❤
I'm glad!

Very interesting times coming with these positional changes.
The new intro is so much better mate. The old one was hard on the ears wearing earbuds.
We got there eventually ha!

Good onya kempy whether you play back, midfield or forward we know you will do your job very good player. Keep it going brody

Brad Pearce 1995 vibes
Kemp as a 3rd fwd is a good option to have, can always swing him back if needed too
Can't wait for 2025
Go Blues

Moir,motlop,durdin, fogarty,Williams don't really need more
Cripps moves to half forward in the twilight years not while he’s peaking 👍🏻
Why are we adding Kemp to the 3rd tall queue?? Already have Jsos and we MUST develop Moir.
All positive if you ask me Terry , love this bloke.

Prefer JSOS as that 3rd forward over Kempy.
Kemp is basically a backman and much needed to support weithering.

Not big enough for key position

He'll get in the way of Charlie and H.
2 talls is enough for our forward line.
Trade him at the end of the 2025 season.

I think Nick Haynes will do a lot better than expected
@@BlueAbroad Very excited to have Haynes but I thought he was more of an interceptor rather than a key? Good mix of both maybe?
Sos is a better player than him
Not expecting much, don’t really rate him I think he’s VFL at best
