Just in case you were wondering, that orange and green car with some missing body panels was a Mazda 787b. It's a 4 rotor with a 10k rpm redline (I think). It is personally my favorite car.

what advantages does a rotary offer over standard piston engines? other than sounding cooler 😄
The rotary engine produces twice the horsepower of a Piston engine of the same displacement.
Hartz is right. Plus, they're usually more reliable when used for racing compared to piston engines, lighter and sometimes even more fuel efficient. The 787B is a prime example
Tempestt better hp per liter andand way better for racing
pros: sounds dope af, lighter, less vibration due to not having reciprocating motion like a piston engine, less moving pieces
cons: needs more care than a piston engine, and the 13b found in the FD is known for being somewhat inefficent when talking about fuel
*BUT THERE IS ONE MAJOR DOWNSIDE* pretty much no torque. But with turbos, that is covered with a bit more low end torque than the N/A rotaries.
