+Padlock Films I like Pat and enjoy his videos, but he does come off as that guy that tries too hard where as James seems to be completely natural in front of the camera. But I still like them both, they provide plenty of entertainment :)
Could be part of his sctick. Doug Walker... He reminds me of that guy in a group that keeps talking and making an ass of himself while you think to yourself Dude, Shut the F*ck up! You know, the guy you don't want to get stuck with if everyone else took off....
Saying James is even slightly natural in front of the camera is like saying Bella Swan has a wide array of emotions... Your USED to seeing James, therefore his performancecs doesn't seem as bad. Doug does actually flow nautural, doesn't make him a better critic, but it sure makes him a better actor.
It is not because I'm USED to seeing james. My personal preference is James, I prefer his style, to me he seems more natural and Doug seems like a terrible actor. That's just my opinion and it is certainly not based on my being USED to seeing James. It is based on watching both of them and my personal taste.
I'm not subscribed to Pat's channel, maybe I should, but I think he works here. Their personalities are so different that there's an undeniable chemistry going on. I liked the NWC episode too so I hope they collaborate more.
I finished this game in 1 running, the Japanese version called Mad City that is. The US version was made intentionally harder in order to make the game seem longer.
It's incredible how they make games this harder, even ninja Gaiden 3 gets the same treatment, and even then, this game is way more beatable than Bayou Billy!
This is the only AVGN-collaboration video I've liked so far (excluding Mike Matei's characters). To be honest, I'm not a Pat fan, but his character and the AVGN work well off each other.
I agree about their characters. Pat is an NES fanboy who likes everything, The Nerd is an NES masochist who hates everything. I like Pat more when he's with James. He seems to have more of a 'character', like in the World Championship video where he seemed manic and unhinged, as opposed to in his own videos where it's usually just a straight-up review. I like the contrast they provide when they're together. In the end, people just get way too angry when something different happens. I was happy with this video. If people don't like it, they can feel free to make their own stuff.
David Razi You explained this the best way. I probably give this episode a 8.5/10 because it wasn't that bad, but some things didn't work out, but didn't ruin the episode and the entire experience.
Nah this guys are bros, the problem is the editing. Is to rough, it needs more polishing, most shoots last a few seconds to long, and those seconds make all the difference, so because the pace is fuck up it doesn’t work, it feels improvised.
Pat's a terrible expert if he couldn't beat the first level. Spoony made it to the next to last level in his review. Hell, even I've made it to the final boss a couple times. If you want to beat the game, here's what you need to do: - Most importantly, play enough to get to know each level. Nothing is random, not even the item drops. - Play the training levels first before each playthrough. Each training stage gives you a free item (meat, extra life, etc.) that carries over to the main game. - In beat-em-up stages, walk in diagonal lines. This confuses the enemy AI and lets you get in hits without being hit back. Also, use the jump kick almost exclusively. - In driving stages, take your time. If you run out of time, you just lose one life. It's much better than rushing and losing many more lives. - In shooting stages, you can get extra items if you shoot certain parts of the screen. If you use the zapper, you can see flashing white squares where these spots are. - For the final boss, you will need to get a whip from an enemy in the prior stage. Once you get the whip, don't die. If you die at any point, you lose whatever weapons you carry, so you have to beat the final level in one life or you're basically doomed. The final bosses are basically impossible if you're unarmed. Once you know what you're doing, this game becomes fun. It just does a poor job explaining what you need to do if you want to win. Also, the reason the game tells you to use the controller before the first level is because in the shooting stages it tells you to use the zapper. The game's just being nice enough to let you know whether you need the controller or the zapper for the next stage, so you're not using the wrong thing before the next level.
Watching it, I thought Spoony used cheats to get to the later levels? I didn't see him make it further than 25% of the way through a driving level, for example, nor beat any difficult bosses, even.
the extent of his character and humor is that he acts "goofy." his presence doesn't add anything to the avgn's videos. there is an infinite number of better people he could do a crossover with
arbitor365 have you watched the stuff on his website? I feel like the collaborations with the nerd aren't his best work at all, it comes off as forced a lot. the series on his site are a lot more natural and enjoyable.

I played Bayou Billy in my younger days and accepted the challenging game play, all the 3 diferent modes were supposed to be played in a strategic manner, the beat'em up was not a button masher, you had to approach each enemy carefully and attack one at a time, save the bullets for the difficult ones etc, the shooting stage you had to memorize esch enemy that was going to show up and shoot them as well as the power ups in order to stay alive. In the driving scenes, the obstacles you had to be carefull with were the road boulders because you couldnt destroy them with your gun. The very last boss (ricky & rocko) was very challenging to defeat but it was possible. This game was enjoyable, just a bit more difficult than the average(something like Ninja Gaiden, also for the NES)...
Truth: Bayou Billy sucks because Konami wanted to punish US gamers for renting their games instead of buying them. This is the Part 1. Part 2 is up on my channel. I hope everyone enjoys!
Nice work Pat. This is classic
Pat the NES Punk I love your collaboration videos with AVGN.
Pat the NES Punk I didn't
Pat the NES Punk you're the worst actor ever
Pats ok
AVGN=Homer Simpson
Pat the NES Punk=Ned Flanders
more like Bart Simpson
Is it the nerd or pat being Bart
Tom Jackson the nerd of course.
Tom Jackson I'd say Mike is Bart.
Captain Comics I'd say you are a a poop
I love how Nerd tries his DAMNEDEST not to laugh when he asks Pat if he "wants a knuckle sandwich."
and after the "ordering hat from eBay" -joke.. :D
"Pat, stop embarrassing yourself."
Isn't that what he does best?
+Padlock Films I like Pat and enjoy his videos, but he does come off as that guy that tries too hard where as James seems to be completely natural in front of the camera. But I still like them both, they provide plenty of entertainment :)

"Yeah, you know what's relaxing? FUCKING PURGATORY" - James Rolfe
I always find it hysterical when James is clearly just putting on a face to try to keep from laughing.
I wish I could go back to the time where it was hard to believe there are bad Konami games.
Bayou Billy is a nice game. Pretty innovative for his time
Nobody's perfect.
Gradius 3 was my fav Konami I think
Double Dribble 🏀
How about a time when they still cared about games?
Bayou Billy?
In my universe it's called
"The Adventures Of Bayou BIMMY"!
Do you also go by Becky Doom?
i love the name bimmy
@@andrewaftontheandroidhedge2780
LOL
@@chaddoom7993 its pretty funny to say bimmy
You from down under .? Australia
I believe its pronounced Bi-U
Buy-Oh Billy!
James pronounces lots of things in a dialect of his own. Ree-view for example.
Litigious Society a lot of people say review like that. It's not a dialect of his own it's the dialect of where he's from
If it's the same bayou as the one they refer to in Amos Moses song it's bah-yoo.
Bio Billy was a mech game released for ps2
"You think Konami has a perfect track record?"
Oh how those words rang true not too long later...
Ohh the games we will play. REALLY?!
They weren't even true in their hayday
Considering the company’s current state it’s rather ironic

What are these? Old people references?
How come they never reference an episode past 2002? Is it because the Simpsons fucking sucks now?
!!
4:23: "Stay in, character, stay in character" James
You can tell the nerd is THOROUGHLY enjoying this collaboration. He's holding in a grin the whole video 🤭
The corpsing was strong in this collaboration! 😆
This is the only AVGN-collaboration video I've liked so far (excluding Mike Matei's characters). To be honest, I'm not a Pat fan, but his character and the AVGN work well off each other.
you fking kidding right?
The Ikari Warriors episode with Kyle is way much better than this shit...

Nerd: Nathaniel Bandy
Pat: Bathaniel Nandy
I gotta say I like the dynamic between Pat and the Nerd. Feels a little forced but you can tell they're good friends.
The acting and humor in this almost feels likes James didn't even want to do this episode.
Classic80sStuff James has been putting out steady content. You must be stuck in the 80's
Nah this guys are bros, the problem is the editing.

Bayou Billy rocks. I loved it as a kid and love it today. Very versatile and fun.

Pat's optimism is unavoidably infectious.

I absolutely loved Bayou Billy!
Me too. It's awesome... And freaking hard.
Nostalgic
Hell yes!
It was a hard game but that doesn't mean it sucked.
I got good at that when I was like 5.
I loved it too it took me awhile but i did beat it. It can be done!!
Try Mad City!
I love when these two characters get together!
I laughed so freaking hard when he said "glue, Elmer's glue". My fav AVGN quote
Why is Pat so similar to Butters from South Park?
How is he similar? Butters is blonde.. Pat is a dark-haired jew.

There is no Plumbers don't wear ties sequel. Is there?
Yep there is, look for plumbers dont wear ties 2 on google, its on yoyo games

What year was this where Ebay didn't exist?
he's in the present, in one episode he even shows the Xbox360

The nerd lives in the present, and plays old games
Are you shitting me?
The Angry Video game is set in modern times, it's just that the character kinda "lives in the past"
I loved Bayou Billy when I was a kid!
You know whats relaxing?
Fucking purgatory.
Those sideburns James had were amazing.
I played this game for HOURS! I loved how it had different types of levels for a side scroller.

James was having a hard time keeping a straight face the whole episode. Good stuff.
Pat looks like a background actor on the Warriors movie.
Marvel: Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover event in history. AVGN: Hold my middle finger.

they should do these collaborations more often
Pat need to work on his acting "skills"...

Try to convince the Nerd of THAT.
And The Punisher might even be the best LJN game on NES.
I absolutely LOVED playing this game starring Jethro from Beverly Hillbillies.........
I had both of these games and I like them both a lot
it bothers me way more how he is pronouncing bayou than it should. as someone who lives in southern louisiana i can say its (by-you)

Isn't it strange that in the show the AVGN is a total angry asshole to everybody and yet in the film he's nice, has friends and everything?
Ricardo Pereira de Paula Maybe all his friends are masochists and like getting verbally abused?
Schwarzer Ritter A very likely possibility.
