He’s gotta be the most under appreciated #1 pick in years, LaMelo mostly stole his hype and deservedly so but Ant and the Wolves have gotten way less respect for progressing through this shitshow of a season than they deserve. To anyone who thought Edwards didn't actually like basketball, I implore you to watch his interview with Mike Schmitz where they went through his game film. Guy isn't just talking, he's actively looking for how to improve himself and when he makes mistakes, he wants to be that leader, that Star. At his worst Edward's play makes him look like an overzealous kid, but that's because he wants to be great. I personally think he's going to reach that potential he has

Wiseman is a bust not as a player but as a pick. He will be a good player but he won't fit in with the timeline of Curry and Klay. He is a centre in a sport moving away from big men. Wiseman doesn't help GSW win a championship in this window and he is not an attractive trade asset. GSW wasted the pick. Should have traded the pick to a team that wanted Lamelo or traded for Lamelo themselves. Kerr has also made the erroneous decision to prioritize winning rather than development. This season was over when Klay got injured so they should have ignored results and instead used the games to develop Wiseman. He should have played 30 minutes every game to accelerate his development. GSW aren't contenders so why not develop Wiseman by giving him more minutes? Passing on Lamelo will haunt this franchise like the teams that passed on Donic.

Kid is just likable. Looks like he has the right mindset about the game, especially on defense-and his SHOOTING has looked SUPER promising. Passing IQ and shot IQ have already drastically improved. Slashing and dunking are still great as always.

Demar Derozan is an excellent example of a guy who worked his way up the pick and roll pyramid.
When he started off in the league you could hardly call him even a level 1 guy. He shot it horribly, had zero handle, and averaged 0.7-1.8 assists per game despite heavy usage as a guard and with 1.8-2.0 turnovers.
He slowly improved each year, and he's now at 7.1 assists per game, with the same 1.8 turnovers, has some of the best handle in the league, and is clearly a level 2 and debateably even pushing a level 3 playmaker off the pick and roll.

Why are guys like Ant are considered “inefficient” even though he’s shot 44 from the field and 34 from three his last 23 games. But Luka can shoot 41-31 the last two years and he doesn’t get criticized. Am I missing something? Also you can pull random clips of every player taking an ill advised shot or losing a defender here and there. This seems like an agenda they’re pushing

They would have been better off taking Haliburton. That kid got all the intangibles to be a great PG. Edward seems to be more "me" who isn't necessarily going to elevate his teammates. But what do I know, i've only seen him and Haliburton a couple times playing against Wizards.

Why use such an arbitrary cutoff for efficiency here? What significance is 15 shots per game, rather than shooting volume on a per-possession or per-minute basis? And why 15? Seems like a cutoff that is measured for the desired conclusion. No question his efficiency has been bad, but it isn't as bad relative to the league if you look at a larger sample of players: the players who shoot the most shots tend to be the best shooters in the league, so of course a raw 19 year old won't compare favorably when you're comparing him to Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving.

I mean, he schooled George Clooney in the ambulance bay, but that was back in the 90s when he could handcheck. And besides, Clooney's defensive effort was suspect. I think Goose is gonna be a good pro, but how long of a career can he have, coming into the game at this advanced of an age? Seems a big price at #1 overall.

People has to remember that rookies this season didnt get to training camp + summer league. Also they didnt play almost any game the previous year on college. So we talking about guys that got drafted practically from HS to NBA and playing right away not even a summer of training camp with their teammates. I think that next year will see a big leap with rookies like Ant, Melo, Tyrese and so on. If they look good rn imagine with next summer of training oh man thats gonna be good

To me, he's just like Westbrook in the fact that they aren't really basketball players as much as athletes playing basketball. They don't have the skill or mind of a talented ball player, they are just super athletic guys even for NBA standards and can rely heavily on that to get by.

He already looks much better than he did at Georgia despite playing against much better competition. If he can match his confidence with work rate, I have little doubt we will see him on many All Star teams.
