I watched the whole press conference. The question was asked how much of the team does Brad own and which business partner did he buy shares from rouses 50% ownership or Fenways 50%. They said neither? Now I only got a B in math but if rouse didn't give up any of his 50% of the business and Fenway didn't give up any of their 50% of business how can Brad own any of the business?

  • @lilliescraftycorner4899

IMHO , Brad just bought himself a long term contract. Yet good move, allows him to work himself up to a position similar to what Jeff Gordon did at HMS.
Jack said he wasn’t going to say he is passing the baton as he was asked. Brad ‘s ownership is most likely no more than 10 to 20% as Roush & Fenway intend to keep majority ownership between themselves.

Out of the four major drivers that don't have confirmed rides for next year: Kurt Busch, Ross Chastain, Matt D. and Ryan Newman you have to think Ryan is going to be the one on the outside looking in next year. Sadly his performance just has not been that great since his Daytona accident. However, Ryan should have no problem moving on to a new career in the sport with his engineering background and should be in demand for many non-driving opportunities if a ride does happen for next year.

@@bighunterman77 Stellantis doesn't care about any heritage of any of the American brands. When Renault/Citroen and FCA merged They are the controlling partner. One of the 1st things they did was disolve The MOPAR performance team. They have also said that every brand only has a limited amount of time to make their case to be kept. Let's face facts what sells at all at Dodge now that RAM is spun off to their own division? The Charger and Challenger. which the roots of go all the way back to when Mercedes owned them 3 ownerships ago . You had Mercedes , Cerberus, Fiat and now Renault/Citroen. The only reason Chrysler keeps getting bought is the same reason Chrysler bought out AMC and that is Jeep. RAM doing so well is a bonus. The Charger Chassis which the Challenger shares has been around since 2005. at some point it will go away and don't be surprised if it's with a EV , and with that Dodge will be dead.

In regards to the NG cars safety, I wonder if all those social media "influencers" out there bad-mouthing NASCAR and calling it the end of the NG car are back-pedaling and issuing apologies for buying into a RUMOR now that the car has, in fact, been deemed safe for the drivers. I won't hold my breath.
Good stuff on Brad! The "Rusty Wallace Playbook to Retirement" that has been followed by others (Tony Stewart mentioned in the video) will suit Brad and Roush-Fenway well! Look forward to great things from this Ford team!

As for the aging owners, many actually do have successors in place to take over. Penske has Tim Cindric among other executives from the Penske Group, RCR has Mike Dillon and Andy Petree and possibly Ty Dillon if he decides to retire, and JGR has Coy Gibbs

this is exciting for the sport but I feel very bad for Newman. I think he is basically being forced to retire despite wanting to. as a fellow Kenseth fan I get shades of Matt's departure from JGR. I hate that old driver get the shaft for younger more profitable drivers instead of letting the old guys go out on their own terms.

As long as Roush is alive, I see him & Keselowski butting heads. Jack seems like the guy that’ll say “I built this company, I have the final say.” It just seems that Roush will keep struggling no matter how many investors they get.

@@johnhaas2523 I believe it's welded but for the life of me what's that can upfront with the oval cut in it? I know this car is a trans axle so I'm assuming its mid engine or rear engine. The paper I saw said it had 4 was independent suspension, so that why I thought it was the fuel cell, its either that of a cool box, maybe a oil tank. Let me know what it is if you know.

I dont think it's gonna be as easy done as Haas was done. The level of competition has gone way up, more competitive teams and also the way the cars are now and have been going. There's gonna be less wiggle room to find those "advantages" that Stewart Haas probably found
