I want to meet the idiot who thought the charter system was a good idea…. Other than Stage Racing, The Charter System is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in NASCAR.
I’m not against that,I could see that happening in the future.You don’t need a charter and I believe JR and Kaulig wouldn’t have a problem without one. Possible charters (or teams that don’t deserve one) the 4 RWR cars, Starcom, and the 10 for Stewart-Haas Racing

@Joseph Murphy I saw somewhere he indicated that he is comfortable running 2 NextGen teams next year and could possibly run 3 teams. Thus, that's at least 1 and possibly 2 charters that should be for sale. I also strongly suspect Spire will turn around and sell a charter instead of running 3 teams. The upfront cost to buy all the NextGen cars is big and it's going to be tough for these small teams to afford buying multiple fleets of cars at once.

Well, technically, even if JRM only runs one cup car, it'll TECHNICALLY be 11 Hendrick or Hendrick affiliated cars on the track, 4 Hendrick, 2 Ganassi, 2 Spire, 2 JTG, and 1 JRM.
jr or really anyone needs to look at the charters that are being leased and try and take one of those. i think petty and spire are leasing a chater. for drivers you have gragson berry and allgaier maybe bowman

Rick Ware Racing only has 1 charter and its for Cody Ware they pay entry fee's for every other car so its their fault that have so low funds

I think Dale Jr should bring Matt DiBurrito as the Cup Series driver. He looses his car to Austin Cindric next year. I think you will find some team pick him up and I think it would be smart is JRM we’re the team to do it.

On a season by season basis some charters should be performances based. Like the top 25 in points this year get one next year and the remaining 9 are up for others to try and acquire

Nascar should just cut Spire, Starcom & Rick Ware out of the cup series. There's 8 Charters that can be given to Trackhouse, JRM, JTG, Kaulig & 23XI. 23XI probably wants to add 2 cars, so 2 charters. JTG wants a 2nd Charter for the 37 car, JRM could probably run 2 cars so 2 charters to them, Trackhouse gets there's and Kaulig likes to Trophy Hunt so 2 charters to them.
What if instead of expanding the amount charters they expand the field size from 40 back to 43, also I wish NASCAR would make RWR sell atleast 2 of their charters.

For JR Motorsports to become a Cup Team, Rick Hendrick would have to sale his part of the team. So, here is idea. Chip Ganassi takes over Rick Hendrick portion. Now, Dale Jr and Chip Ganassi are a team. JR Ganassi Racing.
They would run to full-time teams and 1 part-time. Renumber their car and maybe ask RCR to use the number 8.

But don’t kid yourself - JRM to Cup is progressing faster than anyone believes. He’ll have Hendrick’s full support, and Chevrolet will make Jr.’s charter happen behind the scenes. The friendships Jr.’s made over the decades in NASCAR will be instrumental in getting him whatever he needs to be successful. The sanctioning body needs him fully invested in the sport.

Let's face it, the charter system blows. I get why it was created but it's also had a bad impact as well. They need to put some stipulations on having a charter in order to keep them from year to year. I would hate to see for sure competitive teams like a possible JRM or expanded 23xi not get or go cup racing because of field fillers that will never be consistently inside the top 15 or even 20. It's just doesn't make business sense for NASCAR.
But...let's face it. 23x1 I think will get/purchase the Petty/ware charter and form an alliance with RPM going to Toyota.
Also...field fillers with charters = Star Com, Spire 2, Rick Ware 2.
Results got to be factored in somehow.

Every time I hear talk about the charters it increases my insistence on calling them a joke. A completely open field with qualifying and some practice should really be how the field is determined not just $$$.
Oh so first, RPM has 2 charters and leases 1 to Rick Ware. When they go Toyota next year, that charter will probably end up being leased out to Denny Hamlin. Second, I don't think Jr. will have a problem securing a charter. He's Dale freaking Jr.

TV rating? really in 2021? this is how out of touch NASCAR can be.. a large part of people who are even slightly interested in the sport DO NOT HAVE CABLE TV time to change focus idk why they don't do a official NASCAR livestream on TH-cam or even team channels where you can pay to become a member and get a insider view of the race.. i know they've done something like this in the past on another website but never on TH-cam and thats a missed opportunity people are already on YT aint nobody goes to random websites just for that content
MJ and Dale Jr. need to call Rick ware and ask rick to name his price for his charters. Get RWR out of NASCAR. Also, alliger would likely be the cup driver for JRM for the first two seasons because he brings Brandt funding then Sam Mayer once he ready for cup.
I've said it from the beginning, all the charter system does is limit growth and reward half ass efforts like Spire and Rick Ware Racing. This benefited one man, Rob Kauffman who made a bad investment in MWR. Said that NASCAR let politics win over actual competition and a free market!
The problem with Junior moving to Cup are teams like Rick Ware racing. RWR has 4 charters and will never finish higher than 25th. They are constantly multiple laps down and their drivers trying to wreck teammates.
If JRM goes Cup, would love to see Allgaier in the 88. He was my pick to take over the 48 before Larson came into the picture for Hendrick.
Would be crazy if JR could get Reddick or Gragson to run the #88 in cup. Reddick has the experience but Gragson has the sponsors $$$

I don't get why Nascar went to the charter system. The top 35 system with a 43 car field was a much better system. If you weren't preforming, you were out and back when 50 cards were trying to make races you had a 50/50 shot of going home if you weren't preforming.
I still have a bunch of those 1/82?? scale cup cars that I got when they were new and I was about 9. It was 1999 because I have Dale Sr. and Jr's 3 cars. I think they came with a small banked racetrack that I also still have. They were a Micro Machines line.
If Honda or Dodge join NASCAR, they should get 4 charters and the field should expand to 42 or 44. So a few unchartered teams can still race
I can see JR Motorsports going Cup Racing and RCR giving him the 8.
Maybe RCR HMS and JRMS might become a giant alliance.

Eric I'm a huge fan of you and your channel also I'm a collector of Lionel nascar cars the only problem I have is finding the damn things I go to 5 walmarts and 1 target at least 3 times a week each or more and they sell out before I can get many I did luck up and got most of the race win wave and a few of the all star cars I'm a huge HUGE. Ford fan I love that 4 car and that 17 car I really need that 17 car badly and I have yet to find a color crome car...alot of people will go and buy them all off the shelves here in NC and then jack up the price on eBay and places but i would love to win that 17 car 4 car and 6 car desperately...I'd love the whole set I have collected cars since I was 5 years old I'm 43 now however about 5 years ago my son and I lost our entire collection due to a disaster my son now 8 has been collecting since he was 2 we have alot of cars again I lost all my old cars but I do have several cars I've been a nascar fan since I was 5 I'm 43 now I love our sport and collecting die-cast and my kid does too my favorite drivers all drive Fords I'm blue oval all the way I like Brad and Kevin Blaney Logano is my kids fav . I like him to but the 2 and 4 and 12 and 21 are my favs
NASCAR should just revoke 2 of Rick Ware’s charters maybe 3 if they need to.
I feel like an unpopular pick as he’s so young but i feel like Gragson could launch a Cup JRM team into a new era in NASCAR as he seems to have the most marketability and personality of anyone in the series. I could see Keselowski, Josh Berry if he found sponsorship as he clearly has great talent, not sure who else could fill the seat

I'm on the fence of that's great you can say that but show me actual results and proof
What would be better for the sport is if you went to the top 30 guys were locked in and the rest have to qualify on time that's 10 spots let's knock that down to probably about five spots because they're still going to be semi competitive cars that will take five of them spots
But that as far as I'm concerned the charter system needs to go
Please think it'd be more interesting if a Stewart hoss car had to qualify on time
That's why I like my plan better it doesn't require money it only requires a change of the system and the chargers just go bye-bye no return of money because to start the season all the teams would still be locked in
And turning to a realistic note
Before I go on my realistic note the system I would prefer and I think race fans with prefer would bring interest to qualify it would bring story lines say Chase Elliott had a bad start to the season more or less like he has has had multiple dnfs it has to qualify on time to get in the field
That is a storyline and a half
That's the system I want but we need qualifying for that to happen
Well Justin has sponsorship from Brandt and has kept experience as and has run a race as recently as last year in the cup series in a feeling role for Jimmy Johnson so
Justin's logical cuz he has a lot of the partners that would probably move up with Junior's team also sponsored Justin
I have a hard time putting no breaks it in the car just on the fact of his record even when he had that one race at Daytona where he was doing a good job as far as I'm concerned but he still didn't qualify for the Daytona 500
So for me Justin's just a safe choice
And personally I think for a new team having an experience cup driver or someone who's done it before will go a long way
Maybe Hendrick down sizes and leases the 88 charter to Jr. And Bowman goes to JRMotorsports
