This is like the craziest sequel announcement ever in gaming.
Phantom Brave was made 2 years after Metroid Prime 1 but yet Phantom Brave 2 is coming out just before Metroid Prime 4 after the Metroid Prime series was halted for 17 years.

This trailer really surprised me, When I saw it on the direct. I've always been a huge fan of this game, after I finally played Disgaea. I would have never thought there would be a sequel. Color me interested

Ash is more like a guardian to Marona.
In the previous game, We Meet Again, they don’t show any sign of romance. Marona just really depends on Ash to help her. She just a young kid who’s very compassionate and very inexperience with life.
So amazing that the characters are done by the artist of Disgaea.
NIS has always used the same artist for most of their strat rpgs. He's done tons of non Disgaea work for them including the original Phantom Brave. It's been so long since they focused on anything but Disgaea that I think a lot of people either forgot or don't know they used to make a ton of other strategy games too.
Never expected to see this series return, and I am stoked it's getting a new game!

I had an odd theory that for some reason the footage in the NOA direct was of an older build of the game, with the reason being that the footage of the switch version in the Japanese direct appeared to have the game both look sharper as well as run at a much more stable frame rate. I’m incredibly happy to see from this trailer that I was correct, and it alleviates my one major worry with the game. I can’t wait for this game to come out, the original was quite good so I can’t wait to see what’s in the store with a sequel

I bought the special editions of the PS2 and the Wii updated version. I am SO GLAD they are going to revisit Ivoire. And for anyone wondering about the the name "Grey", the japanese word for grey (灰色=Haiiro) literally means "Ash color"

Marona is such a sweetheart! I love her so much! Never really played the original and I suck at tactical games but... Man I want to play this one! I wonder if I made it harder than it actually is? Wouldn't surprise me!

The original was amazing! I prefer disgaeas sillier story but i think phantom brave may have been better mechanically (at least compared to the first disgaea)

It's just made by the same developers with some disgaea cameos. It's about like how Bloodborne is made by the same developers as the Souls IP and has some Easter eggs in it
It's very loosely connected, especially since Laharl shows up in the original game. It's also loosely connected to Rhapsody because of Myao. And Disgaea has that same connection thanks to Marjoly.
If you want to, you can connect the games through these cameos! La Pucelle for instance has some characters that look like they come from Marls Kingdom, and it seems the Netherworld has a Rosenqueen branch! Heck a character from Soul Nomad? Very much implied to be a character in the original Phantom Brave under a different name!

Well, as much as SoulCalibur is connected to Star Wars, or Mortal Kombat to God of War.
Characters may make an appearance in post-game, but there's nothing more to it.

Wish Nintendo would make a new Golden Sun game. I'd prefer one that uses the original characters from the first 2 over Dark Dawns characters. Also we need a Xenoblade Chronicles X port on the Switch 2. Get the game off the Wii U and into more people's hands
Another set of games that could use a remaster or remake are the Shadow Pokemon games. Colosseum & XD Gale of Darkness are both leagues ahead of SwSh & ScarVi. Even a sequel would be a great idea.
PS I also wouldn't mind Geist getting a sequel. I still think it's vastly underrated
Camelot Entertainment makes Golden Sun, while Nintendo only distributes those games.

F-ZERO is super overrated. It's a fun racing game, but y'all acting like it's the greatest thing Nintendo has ever made, when it's not even the best racing game series they've made.
@@ArcCaravanfor whatever reason they think F Zero would do well when all it would do is crash like normal. Racing games have evolved over the years and F Zero is an outdated series. If they want something like it then Fast RMX already exists and it's likely the closest thing he'll get.
Nintendo focuses on IPs that do well like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid, Pikmin, Xenoblade, Splatoon & Animal Crossing while leaving games that perform horribly on the back burner for years like F Zero, Kid Icarus, Starfox etc
So far it seems as though the one series that's in the middle would be the DKC games
