      My 94 trans am 4th. Gen. Is lowered with fully adjustable BMR suspension front and rear. I'm on BMR adjustable upper and lower control arms in front as well. My 94 trans am is lowered about 3" in front due to 1" drop Lower adjustable control arms by BMR. The rear is going to be lowered about 2/12 " with fully adjustable BMR suspension lower control arms adjustable pan hard bar with relocation brackets. I'm on lowered BMR lowering springs as well. I'm building and restoring my 94 trans am from the ground up. I should have it completed in a few years everything is going to be brand new again.. the rims I'm looking into buying are the weld rts... 17x9 50 front and 17x11 rear.. I'm probably going to have to roll the rear fenders??

      I agree, bought my 93 new, been road course racing it for 27 years, still one of fastest production based road course machines produced, the LT1 is a better road racing power plant than the LS engines, they make a lot more torque over a wider range, when properly built.

      I’m a third gen guy myself but I constantly hear people off and on saying these cars are ugly because there’s always clapped out ones but they never know what’s under the hood. Especially the 3.42 or 3.23 gears stock are perfectly paired with the 4l60e gear ratios. Put a cam and stall, and these bad boys are already smoking newer cars.

    finally, some 4th gen love!!! ...my old 4th gen camaro, & now my 4th gen firebird, have both shared the same basic set up... 17" x 11" budnik wheels squared on 275/40/17 tires & a complete bmr/umi suspension set up with slp tuned bilstiens ...& thank u for the video!

    • @heavychevy383
      @heavychevy383 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@jpleon314 id be more than happy to "defend" the choice my friend... theyre "slp tuned" bilsteins specific to the 4th gen f-body platform (u gotta do a little diggin or call summit racing or strano performance to get the right part numbers) & i had em on my 98 camaro for 10 years, & now my 98 ls1 formula firebird for about 2 years now, & theyre awesome & they last forever, & that car (the camaro) was beat on, abused, & treated like a redheaded step child (haha) on the autocross course & around track days at road atlanta, & on the twisty mountain roads around where i live here & repeatedly on the famous dragons tail (aka-deals gap which is just a short trip north of here) & i worked with sam strano of strano performance (sams raced f-bodies for years & is THE f-body suspension guru) to put together a spring/shock/sway bar combo that would be at home on the street as well as the track (with the right set of tires of course) ...not to mention the brakes, sub frames, torque & panhard bars, bushings, etc... & shameless plug here, but if ur ever lookin for any suspension parts or expertise id highly recommend stranos... & i realize that koni's are the "forums darling" & no one can argue that they arent absolutely fantastic, & im sure sam will even tell u that koni yellows are the way to go if ur lookin for that level of adjustability, but from my experience they just do not have the lifespan of the bilsteins. these things just wont die. & honestly i like the "set it & forget it" aspect. i suppose to draw a parallel its kinda like my old 71 chevy, u could go with a holly carb, but they always need fiddling with & they dont hold a tune, so i went with an edelbrock carb (aka-carter style) because they will hold a tune forever, but for a track only car, just going back & forth to the drag strip, the holly might give u a tenth, but ur gonna haveta work for it by constantly adjusting it, whereas the edelbrock is always spot-on. so in the same way, the bilsteins are dead-on consistent & never require any messing with, but if it was a track only car, then yeah the konis are hands down the better choice. & really i suppose its a matter of what ur actually using the car for & more importantly its a matter of ur personal preference. ive had bilsteins on several cars over the years, & soon to be a set of "mazdaspeed tuned" bilsteins on my 99 miata, & i just really like em & have had really good luck with em. thanx & god bless dude

      @@buffaloaf8205 honestly, im not sure why slp gets so many haters on the forums, espically on ls1tech, where im a member, i do see some people bashing them, but i go back to the days where slp was a powerhouse & gave us fbody guys options that werent available (at that time) anywhere else. granted things like their bellows was overpriced for what it was, & their exhaust system was not everyones favorite, but back when they were the only game in town, some of us were just glad to have some options over stock. amittedly, they seem to offer a lot fewer products now than they used to, but alot of what they still offer is good stuff. i have their air box lid, the aforementioned tuned bilsteins, & their floormats, just to name a few, & i haveta say, floormats that actually FIT our 4th gen floor boards & dont slide around & have lasted me over 10 years & still look great, yeah, that was money well spent in my book. so do they make some stuff thats not everybodys cup of tea, sure, but the same can be said of alot of companies out there. ive had nothing but positive experiences with all the slp stuff ive used over the years.

    Biggest problem with lowering springs on the 4th gen and I'm sure 3rd gen. Is that they already scrape at stock ride height on inclines and speed bumps. And if you get longtubes lowering is out of the question. Atleast from my experience.

    Great content in this video. I have always liked the look of a staggered set up. I have a 2001 Camaro SS with CME; since 2004, I have run a C5 Z06 replica wheel in 18 x 9.5 and 275/R18 up front and a 18 x 10.5 with 295/R18 in the rear since 2004. Its wearing Continental Extreme Contact DW tires. I have a bunch of BMR adjustable parts in the rear: LCA, panhard, torque arm, SFC, trans tunnel brace, and shock tower brace up front. Eibach Pro Kit springs and Sam Strano Bilstein shocks. There is NO rubbing. To date, the car only has 55k miles and is super responsive, tight, and rattle free, even with t-tops. I don’t remember what the offset is for the rear, maybe 33mm, but I will check next time I pull the wheels off and post that info if anyone is interested. I can send you guys some photos if interested also.

    I put 16" oems on mine. Car came with $5000 18' Dubs on it. (For sale) Looked ridiculous to me yet everyone I knew loved them? All these large diameter wheels make the car look like it came out of a Walmart toy section. No interest in lowering it either. Not into tearing off the longtube headers and dual exhaust. I don't care what people think of the "Stance".
    Car is supercharged 600hp. I like it looking completely stock showroom condition. aka sleeper. I don't go to car meets in stripmall parking lots or show n shines. 80% of roads destroy rims with lo pro rubber band sidewall tires anyways.
