That high pitched background tone sounds like screaming. It always reminds me of the Instrumentality scene at the End of Evangelion, this warm cheery tune playing over a whole population's death shrieks.

My friends are always like "how can you ship DaveJade? Davekats so much better." And I'm like "do you know how many times Dave has literally died for jade or died protecting jades dead body?"
im really glad this part of the story got this much attention from the musicians, i really REALLY wanted to see some of the potential fun dave and jade mightve had on their froggy quest, its always a shame when homestuck skips over just regular gameplay parts of sburb :P

But there is definitely a lot of EarthBound feels, but apparently the cast does not know this.
