    Third video this week, what a treat! Thanks Mark

    Really enjoyed that Mark. Couldn’t help but be distracted/fascinated by all the writing on the back of the rear view mirror! No doubt all those regulatory requirements that no one is ever interested in, but bureaucrats insist on being slapped on everything.
    To me in looks, finish, build quality and practicality it’s head and shoulders ahead on a Tesla. Serious contender come next car change.

    I was getting really interested in this, then you mentioned the ride quality. Asking £5,000 on top of a £50,000 car to fix something that basic? Taking the mick. Great review as ever, Mark.

      Not really, the performance model 3 is an extra 10 grand and most companies ask for a decent amount extra for their performance trims.

    • @Andrew-ib7gs
      @Andrew-ib7gs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've watched like 10 reviews and no other reviewers have mentioned the drive being firm compared to the Tesla except those already driving the performance pack version. Which comes with 2O inch alloys. And those other reviewers actually suggested buying the non performance pack version on the 19 inch wheels to sort this out. They didn't say it was " crashy" hard though - just firm.
      Anyway I honestly don't think choosing the softest setting on the Olin's dampers plus 20 inch wheels ( because one reviewer did that and could barely notice a difference) will be better than the non performance pack 19 Inch standards. And the 20 inch will definitely affect range. ( One tester got 12 more miles on the smaller wheels)
      I need to drive it myself but as I said most reviews have actually said the ride is better than the comparable Tesla.

    Love the Polestar 2. I totally agree that I'd have one every day of the week over the Model 3, it's just cooler (helps that the nearest supercharger to me is about an hour away, could be a deal breaker for some people). Just have to wait a few years and it'll be the replacement for my i3 unless something better comes along (and maybe not the £50k one, they're offering lower trims and stuff either this year or next)

    Spot on from a Polestar (2) driver. I would love to try the ‘comfort’ settings as too firm for my liking. As said spot on....as always.

    Great review, cheers from Montréal. I’m only wondering how it will do loaded up in deep snow and real cold, ie the family ski trip, over the years. Our Model 3 LR has been very good but we need more space and I don’t love the Tesla corporate or CEO attitude.

    I think Polestar is not doing themselves any favors by giving the performance pack testers to the press. The performance pack has tighter springs and adjustable Ohlins dampers that are setup almost for track use by default. It also has 20" wheels which does not help with the perceived ride quality. The ride is definitely more comfy with the non-PP versions.

    I've just ordered Enyaq over Polestar 2. After watching all videos about wifi or 4G issues I decided to sacrifice 4sec of acceleration for sunshades in the rear door and cupholders for the family. HOWEVER, I would definitely buy Polestar 2 for myself as a driver car.. I also can't wait for Polestar 3.

    • @pcr8918
      @pcr8918 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      4g sorted now and you will probably have your own teething problems with the Enyaq. I agree with your sentiments I bought this as a ‘me’ car as family flown. Enjoy electric I’ll never buy another ICE.

      @@pcr8918 I know and I am ready for that :) I am still on the family hauler phase, so sadly two (or four) spaces for coffee and water is a must. I don't know where we will be in two years, but for the first time, I really think about buying EV like Polestar 2 instead of C43 for my mid-life crisis :D If only it would be a convertible

    How on earth did you get in it?? I am6'2" and couldn't get in it until the sales guy wound the seat right down and back, and even then it felt claustrophobic. I couldn't comfortably sit behind me either. The boot wasn't that big as well. Build quality and cabin style did look good though. It was a relief to get back in my 5 series TBH - the size of the Polestar was disappointingly small.

    Great review. I bought a 1st edition XD40 and the electrics never - EVER - worked properly. Spent more time in the dealers than on the road. So, in conclusion, Volvo make great cars, but their modern IT/electrics make even the French look good. Had the car for 6 months and then threw it back. Volvo electrics are so flaky I wouldn't touch one with a barge poll (Rant over)

      £46900 + paint - oil changes, car tax, petrol cam belt, sparking plugs etc etc . Man maths makes me consider this a £35k ICE car. Not knocking it is an expensive car upfront but cheaper versions on the way and lots of new options this year.

    If cup holders annoy then consider that Tesla doesn't even have rear door pockets!!
    Electric - a gimmick we'll groan about in 20yrs - all hail the hydrogen fuel cell (even though Mercedes pulled out of development last year - but then when have cars ever led the way - industry first then car companies nick the idea for their own product and claim it's a "first", ie. double glazing in a BMW 7 series)
