    Great video! Thanks for taking us along. My friend is getting his Polestar next week but I am still waiting for my Ioniq 5 😭 May I make two suggestions?
    1. Please introduce yourselves! Are you just filling in for Kyle and Alyssa temporarily? New regulars? Would love to know 🙂
    2. For your trip to Seattle, I strongly, STRONGLY recommend taking the 101 up to at least as far as Lincoln City in northern Oregon, then switch over to the I5 for the rest of the way to Seattle. My family has taken the 101 down to California many times from Vancouver, Canada and it is my absolute favourite road trip. Maybe too slow and wind-y in Washington, and too slow and wind-y from San Francisco to LA, but from San Francisco to the Redwoods, and along the Oregon coast?? 😍😍😍 Lovely highway, magnificent scenery, and not just straight for hours on end like on the I5. (of course, maybe the charging isn't so great yet on the 101, I admittedly haven't checked yet)
    Congrats on your gorgeous EVs, and I'm really looking forward to your west coast road trip!

    Guys, please, Polestar is a Swedish brand, not a Chinese brand. Geely basically gives them money and says if you can produce great cars and grow your company, we're hands off. Polestar is Volvo's former sports skunkworks. In fact, I think Polestar still is as you can get a Volvo XC60 or s60 Polestar with gold seatbelts, Ohlins dampers and such. If you look at Polestars and Volvos, so much is very similar and former Volvo designers run Polestar.
    19 inch wheels have a better ride and have better range. My take on Polestar is it is extremely solid and well made, great seats. What I don't like is the center console eats up a lot of space and it has crappy back visibility.

    • @ianjay5301

      Actually, as of June, Polestar is pulling away from Volvo and going for an ipo. Volvo has a major stake, but not a controlling interest. Polestar was a Swedish brand, but this has become seriously blurred as of this summer.

    Just wondering, who are you. I’m used to Out of Spec reviews but don’t know who you are. Is Polestar a division of Volvo? I guess I can check on the internet. I have my doubts that I will go electric. I’m in my late 70’s and the clock is winding down. There maybe zero emissions I but the machinery required to mine all of the ingredients for the batteries alone burn diesel and the companies building batteries need lots of raw materials to make them. I’ll be sticking with my ICE car. I just watched to the end and you answered my questions regarding who owns Polestar. Geely is huge. They let the companies run the same as they were to my knowledge. I think they own Land Rover too. Hopefully the quality control is good.

    • @benjaminsmith2287
      @benjaminsmith2287 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Polestar is sort of a division of Volvo, yes. It is an offshoot of Volvo and is its own company. However, they do share a lot with Volvo and they are both headquartered in Gothenburg Sweden, and quite close to each other. A lot of Polestar's personnel used to work at Volvo or work at both Volvo and Polestar.
      Geely does not own Land Rover. Tata owns them. Geely does own Lotus however and they're doing quite well now. And it is Geely Holding that owns them, not Geely Auto which is a local Chinese brand and one of the brands in Geely Holding.

    It's nice to get an inside view of the Polestar delivery experience, but I feel I wanted to leave my thoughts on the video. I've got to say that Kyle giving introductions and explaining the process or what's happening is kind of what makes the channel's videos for me.
    I think some level of introduction, explanation of the process, and even details about the Polestar center would've been nice. It doesn't need to be Kyle, but I think it is a little confusing getting a video like this that doesn't seem to be narrated by someone well informed on the process. I guess it's a channel identity issue.

    Does electrify America cost less then the Tesla charging stations? I agree there is way to many teslas around. And they all appear to have boring colors too. I wonder if the wireless phone charger is just turned off in the software.

Unfortunately the nearest authorized dealer/studio is waaaaayyyyy too far away to be practical for any warranty or maintenance work...it's enough of a pain to get the maintenance on my Volvo XC40 done at the dealer thats like 60+ miles away....the Polestar is like one or two states away from me here in the Midwest.....

      @benjaminsmith2287 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrIbernie Yes, they do. But Volvo isn't a Chinese product designed and engineered by a Chinese company. Volvo is an old, European marque. They were.bought by Ford because they're too small to be independent. Ford sold them to Geely Holding. That doesn't mean that they sold a name. They sold an intact company. Volvo is an operation, the same European car company, designing and making and producing their own cars. They are now just funded by Geely Holding. And Geely Holding doesn't micromanage their brands. Lotus is owned by Geely and neither Volvo or Polestar or Lotus are dictated to by Geely on having to use Geely platforms or anything like that.
      Volvo has made their own platforms, chosen their own battery partners, and on and on and Geely provides money or, in some cases, Volvo and Geely may work together on some things. Some of Volvo's technology may make it into some other Geely brands. But there are no Volvos that are Geely cars with Volvo badges on them.
      China makes excellent cars like NIOs, Great Wall, XPeng, those are Chinese cars. Volvo isn't a Chinese car brand. The Chinese car group is their parent. That's all. There are no Chinese cars sold in the USA. There are some Chinese owned companies selling cars in the USA but they're established European brands. There are some made in China cars in the USA. But no Chinese brands originating and engineered and designed in China are sold in the USA. And I'm frankly tired of hearing people that don't know the details of the Volvo deal saying Volvo is Chinese. It's not the case. Volvo continues to be a Swedish brand but now has the financial backing of a Chinese company.

    A Taycan, a Polestar 2, and a Fiat 500e? I like these cars but I don't understand why one would want this grouping/collection. Wouldn't adding an SUV to the collection make more sense? Or a plug-in hybrid? There's so much overlap here in terms of categories.
