4:30 White spends a bit over a min (roughly 75% of his remaining time) on that bishop move. He knew he was absolutely fcked.

I would've played exactly the same way, if I were Magnus Carlsen.

I managed to beat him once. It was a bot called ‘Sleeping Magnus’ rated 500.

Magnus is learning from playing the engines. He's learning from the machines.😀

Hyper modern openings might not be "the best" according to the engine, but they're still fine, and have been around for a century at this point. Even when played unconventionally in a blitz game they're not ludicrous.

Let's start by stalemating the queen, then we continue... It looks like a combinatorics exercise solved by Magnus. Or like a spider setting up a trap for the opponent queen, and see its prey getting more and more entangled as it tries to evade.

Never moved his d and e pawn and still wins so easily. Opponent was never in game for 1 move. Magnuscarlsen is scaling new heights. Magnus is doing what booby fischer couldn't do . Playing chess for fun

Question is... is anybody LEARNING from how Magmaximus plays at times? I know I am! That pawn to B4 was brilliant and I won't forget that position in the future if I need it in simliar positions I tellya!

Somehow Magnus got access to my old games against father. :D (Never had patience for classic chess, so I stopped fairly early) in any case, how many times did Magnus broke those rules again?

One of the reasons he’s able to do this is because most GMs are intimidated by him - understandably so - and assume he knows exactly what he’s doing regardless of the out-of-the-box moves he plays. They believe he’s going to beat them under most every circumstance … would love to see him play like this against Firouzja or Gukesh

With some hindsight bias white's Qc2 looks a bit strange. After the more natural Nc3 black's ...c7-c5 push is not nearly as powerful as d4-d5 shuts off the bishop, and white can always play e2-e4 to support the pawn. Probably black should go for a different plan then, but I must say I have no idea what else to do as black.

Just saw the short when Magnus completely ignored Ju Wenjun who he sat next to. So despicable. And then Magnus's fans asked her to move so they could take a picture with Magnus. And then someone rushing to take her seat.
