After 1 week you never think of the turn signals again. You get used to it really fast.

I just spent a week in a rental Model 3 LR. I owned a '22 Model Y and have rented Model 3's for years, and this interior is leagues above what it used to be. Not as good as the Model X/S interior, but now more in-line with the price point. The suspension is also a huge improvement. The previous Model 3 had a very crashey Audi S4-like suspension that was too harsh. I had no issues with the turn signals. But I still do not like the lack of a display on the driver's side.

FYI BMW i3 had the open tailgate light transfer to the rear bumper back in 2014👍

Can someone tell me why there are so many complaints about the turn signals on the steering wheel? So many are complaining because when you turn your wheel, the turn buttons are then upside down. Who uses turn signals while they are actively turning the wheel? Absolutely no one! The turn signal buttons on the wheel makes perfect sense in how it's positioned. The right arrow is on top, just as you would flip the typical stock on a normal car, up. And if you want to turn left, you push down on the stock. Therefore, the electronic positioning of the turn signals on the wheel itself makes perfect sense. In most cases, people are using either auto-pilot or FSD (supervised) that automates the use of turn signals without interaction of the driver.

Part of the problem is that the buttons don’t have any feedback, so I found myself thinking I had hit it and in actual fact I had not. And then I am mid-turn and can’t find the button! This is why having feedback on the wheel would be part of the solution. But the fact is if you own the car you will quickly get used to it. It just isn’t easy when initially moving from a standard indicator stalk.

You clearly don’t use roundabouts often because in a roundabout the wheel isn’t straight when you need to indicate out of the roundabout.

Have the M3 long range rwd for about 3 weeks. Love the car, HATE the turn signal buttons. Really one of the dumbest decisions ever by Tesla. I’m gonna end up spending $300+ for aftermarket turn signals for a leased car that I will have to return in stock condition. It’s THAT bad…. Oh, and the yoke steering wheel on the S, X and Cybertruck was the second dumbest decision.

@jbreakstone same car for about the same amount time and give zero shits about it.

In the US the base model 3 is the Model 3 LR RWD, so long range, there is no lower model. As such, the cheapest tesla is also one of the longest range, at 363 EPA, but real world highway 385 miles!
