    Something to note: Keep in mind that I'm just a normal guy who loves cars. I'm not a trained mechanic, although my father was. If something interesting car wise comes up, I try to film it and upload it for entertainment and the "look at what I done" factor. Pat me on the back, or give me a "good game" pat on the butt. These videos are meant to inspire other DIYers. Working on cars can be dangerous, even life threatening, if the proper cautionary measurements aren't taken. You also run the risk of damaging your vehicle and or voiding your warranty. If for any reason you feel like the job is too big to handle, I would suggest consulting with a professional mechanic.

    I've been watching for a while and this video popped back up in my feed as I was searching for Maxpeedingrods. I recently bought a Maxpeedingrods HX35 for my diesel build. The box tells me its actual sizes are 35/92. I've not had time to measure it. It has a 10cm housing as its based on a Holset. It's absolutely massive tbh. A holset HE221w would work really well on a 1.8 but aren't cheap. Hard to kill though.

    Hey, who has made 350whp with a 1.4L Cruze. Also, how is the transmission holding up so far. My understanding from the Cruze forum back in 2014 was that the transmission was a POS. Now if you’re not launching it and putting 500ft-lbs of torque off the line that may save it and put the power down in the mid to high range. I’m excited but a little concerned about the trans being able to handle the power.

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know ZZP has made 290, and MPFab has made 300. I've seen dyno sheets of 340-350, but with no video. Do a search for M32. That's the transmission that's in millions of cars pushing power. In 2012 the bearings, which would fail because of lack of oiling, was upgraded with larger bearings and oil routing to get lube to the 6th gear bearing. Also, you can use a better grade of gear oil such as AMSOIL which helps with the 1st to 2nd issue some. There are also shouter LSD for the M32 transmission. As far as I'm concerned, it'll hold just fine unless you're dumping the clutch from a dig / stand still. You're bound to break almost any transmission over time if you run it ragged. You can ruin the trans even with the stock power. All about how you drive it, keeping your hand off the shift lever, etc, etc. Mine has 122k miles on it, no issues, no play.

      Matthew Chevalier I guess I’m thinking in terms of drag racing or launching the car hard.. Drag racing is hard is tough on a transmission. I was told by many in the Turbo Buick world that launching the car so hard, just 1.79 60’ times, my transmission was a grenade with the pin pulled. Yes, the sudden rise in torque output is hard on the entire drivetrain. I ended up my Grand National trans rebuilt with all billet parts.and is supposed to run 9’80s all day long in a 3600 lbs car without breaking. There’s no aftermarket support for an auto Cruze trans that I know of. I’ll probably need to rethink my goals.

      @@cmattdabrat It definitely is! Most people work many years without this acceleration in growth. Cough me and most of my friends. Not that I'm complaining or blaming anything but myself. I've had my growth periods, and what I have in store next should be a more successful venture.
      You have a winning combo with your personality, presentation, excellent work, common car that doesn't get a lot of love, and nicely structured videos. It's well deserved growth. Keep pumping out the content and hopefully this will be big! You gained almost 1,000 subs on Tuesday. That's amazing! A lot of people give up before they even reach 1K total.
      Def seize this opportunity by continuing to release regular videos and pushing forward. This is great momentum even if a lot of traffic is from a few vids. The more good content you put out now the more dedicated your following will be and more chances to be pushed by the algorithm.
      I'm pretty into growth and analytics. Let me know if there is anything you want to discuss! Facebook and Instagram are easy ways to reach me.

    so what was the big issue why the oil was leaking?

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had my PCV system hooked up wrong. It needed some check valves because the throttle body connects to the PCV, and I was basically boosting the cover and blowing oil right into the intake, which in turn started fouling plugs and causing all kinds of issues.
