    Something to note: Keep in mind that I'm just a normal guy who loves cars. I'm not a trained mechanic, although my father was. If something interesting car wise comes up, I try to film it and upload it for entertainment and the "look at what I done" factor. Pat me on the back, or give me a "good game" pat on the butt. These videos are meant to inspire other DIYers. Working on cars can be dangerous, even life threatening, if the proper cautionary measurements aren't taken. You also run the risk of damaging your vehicle and or voiding your warranty. If for any reason you feel like the job is too big to handle, I would suggest consulting with a professional mechanic.

      I thought it could be a little thicker lol. Thanks! I'm going to go to the machine shop today and see where they're at with everything. I can't wait either! Well, if I'm ever out on that side, I'll holler at you.

    That flange was a lot cheaper than I expected, but the collector more expensive than I expected, hahaha. This is gonna be badass. Only half surprised you're ditching the original manifold.

    I knew personally I got the stick header with the Huge cat I deleted the cat honey comb and the heat shield I haven’t melted any plastics around the header.

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Is yours NA? I've melted the cam cover and burned the hood insulation. The turbo heated up pretty hot my last drive, so I'm just wanting to take some precautions.

    Can't wait to see the Chevy run some super car times in the quarter 🤣 would be awesome if you can keep it stock looking and maybe even find drag slicks that fit the stock rims. Straight pipe the exhaust and make it loud to surprise people 😁

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL! That's exactly the plan! Just going to clean the car up, fix my front bumper, find some dot street slicks for the front, and straight pipe. I may get an exhaust valve that'll open up from the 2.5 that's on it, to a 3" that's a straight pipe. I've thought about just having the exhaust exit out the side of the front bumper, but I'm trying to think of a way to keep it stealthy.

      @@cmattdabrat If you're going for a stock look, there are 17" rims with 15 spokes that came with the eco trim. They're one of the lightest 17" rims out there that fits the 105x5 bolt pattern.

    I wrapped my 1.8l header, and even with it wrapped it still emits so much heat.

      It'll definitely take some careful planning to make sure things don't melt...

  • @matthewrodriguez552
    @matthewrodriguez552 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    i been talking to matt about making a custom header hood exit one off since mine was ( i say was cause im now full exhaust ) and the runners are the same size of the exhaust ports. should i have the ports of the intake and exhaust ported when i have the cams grounded to have more overlap?

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! I bet it'll come out awesome. If you plan on taking the head off, might as well. While you're at it, pull the pistons and gap the rings for boost.

  • @scottlaird497
    @scottlaird497 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How exactly did you go about scanning the gasket and get it to be the same size? I want to do the same thing for my 2.0t and put it into cad so I can just use a CNC machine.

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just put it into a scanner, scanned it at 100% size, then traced it in Adobe Illustrator. I did print a mockup on paper just to make tweaks and to be sure it fit. Then I sent a CAD file to a buddy to water jet it out.
