And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
Wo, wo, wo
God bless you please, Mrs. Robinson

2024 I listen to this from Bangkok, Thailand
I listen from Santiago, Chile.
In the pantheon of great songwriters Paul Simon occupies a rarified position.
If I could go back in time, I would mortgage my house to go see this concert!
JESUS LOVES YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL KNOW
WOAH WOAH WOAH
I Love Jesus too...He is the Lord❤❤❤..Germany 05.2024😊
Do you realise what the song is about?

Encore merci pour cette vidéo. A regarder et écouter sans modération en 2024 comme en 1968. 56 ans et toujours pas une ride (sauf sur mon visage) ! Ce morceau est sur ma playlist depuis 2015.
The young people of today such as myself who listens to this era of music, thankfully still have taste
Friend, you can be quite sure of that, music like this is no longer "manufactured".... ;)
i was born in NYC and lived there for 52 years. Praying for my old home town in these terrible times. Music heals and soothes the soul.
Don't you live in NY anymore?
Music will smooth the most Savage beast

Sadly that music can't fix useful idiots.
@@fakutube9834 This is true.
Whenever I'm feeling sad or frustrated, I watch Simon and Garfunkel..I must admit, I have a crush on Art..😍
This concert was on my 10th birthday in 1981. I watch it now aged 50.
Thanks to all the Mrs Robinsons of this world, You were the first and never to be forgotten you amazing women.
Well yes quite kind of maybe not sure ?

I'm here for the love of music
In den 60ern haben sie mir gefallen, aber erst jetzt merkte ich, wie gut ihre Musik tatsächlich ist!
Hello Edith
No earpieces, relaxed and comfortable as if in front of friends in the living room, what performances. Thank you.
My favourite American singing duo of all time, Paul Simon is a genius and that Garfunkel bloke can hold a note.
" Heaven holds a place for those who pray." 🌈☀️.💜.
Thanks for shering.

Remember my father ❤
Heaven holds a place for those whom pray
Paul Simon is a national treasure
It’s 39 years ago that this happened. According to Wikipedia the Concert started at twilight. What a wonderful Concert 👍🏻
That explains why they’re wearing well
Those were the days. Once they are gone, they are gone.
We were blessed by God more than we could know back then ...Brilliant memories.
I don't know what I'm doing here but Mr.Bear tweeted so...I'm here.
I grew up with Simon and Garfunkel. I sang the songs during my newspaper delivery era. I hope someone was inlfluenced (probably not by me singing but the songs are so strong) so the music will spread throughout time.........
They sang the anthems of a complete generation (or 2). We should cherish this music that was sang with such beautifull harmony and social relevance.
Its really just funny how sooo much comments are like "who comes from Mr Bear" AFTER FUCKING 5 YEARS after the upload of the video
Ya....😅
nope
I personally don't understand a single one of them; do they even understand that the video's 5 years old?
@@florjanbrudar692 thats the question

Im born in 1990 and i wish i could have visited this concert. The whole concert is outstanding.
i was born in NYC and lived there for 1 year. I remember this concert
Are you saying you were there, in the audience? In this video?

it is 2023, I am 17 years old and Simon n Garfunkel is my favorite band
their music is AMAZING
The way they sing ‘and here’s to you, Mrs Robinson’ at 0:58 makes me so happy, I don’t know why
This is the greatest opening in a live concert ever.
Paul Simon is God''s gift to mankind
Absolutely 💕
I was there. How can anybody give a thumbs down is beyond me.
Real music from real artists, no auto-tune here.
What's Mr Bear telling us? That's the question 🤣
I don't know, what is he?
Simon was really rocking this performance.
when doing it live works perfectly you know they're world class
You just don’t get music like this anymore!! So well written sung! You can sense this was written by one person and brought to life by two incredible people
Truly magic, they're two marvelous people
True
It's marvellous, like every Song the still sing.
One of the best songs ever made by human beings
The best way to de-stress, instant listen to the music that you want to hear blast it for the Bluetooth in the car or down in Florida to be have a great oldies station and they consider this oldies that's so funny
The one with talent and the one who hangs on to his shirt tails.
Don't know about their solo careers entonces....
I finally found it!!! I wore out 2 vhs tapes of this concert and 3 cassette. my husband proposed to me in one of their concerts during bridge over troubled water and my girls have grown up with S&G from birth

2022. I love Mrs. Robinson, and you ?
Dudes learn about good quality music from the 60s-70s , not just come here because someone else told you so..Big Up (as they say in Jamaica)
What a great time it has been! History has stopped now.
What?! If history stops, then time stops.
is this an amazing song? - Yes it is
are this two incredible amazing voices? - Yes they are
Does this matter? - Not reall
Why is this song even more amazing? - Those two singers singing it PERFECTLY synchronous from the first not to the last. PERFECTLY!!!!!
I don't really care about this amazing song, I don't really care about those wonderful voices
I care about this absolutly PERFECT duet. You wont find anything similar, especially not from the 60s and not in Live- Performances. Maybe they have a discrepancy about 1/1000s of a second, but not more.
THIS IS ART, I've NEVER heard ANYTHING like this, THIS is the PERFECT duet. (Simon & Garfunkel are singing twins with one brain)
For those who do not know NYC, the wooden tanks are traditional and common in the skies of NYC, just as the wind fans and pipes are a recreation of the terraces of Midtown.
Right Now!
wa wa wa, woah, woah, woah, hey, hey , hey - my deceased mom's favorite song and she sung it often. We watched this often, God Bless You Mom & mrs. robinson - hey hey hey, S & G are great
Tom Morgo I’m sorry for your loss
It's Jan 2021, still watching this concert over and over as a stress reliever. Feeling stressed since the start of pandemic early last year, this has been my daily indulgence to date.
Yes thats true. Listening to their music relieves all worries.... Their voices are so soothing...
Carmen, I understand you so well! 🌹 Never doubt that you’re not alone, dear.
Mine also I saw them in concert 3 times they are great and relaxing
HANG IN THERE CARMEN! WE'LL KNOW THINGS REALLY ARE BACK TO NORMAL WHEN THOUSANDS OF FOLKS CAN GET TOGETHER AND ENJOY GOOD MUSIC WITHOUT WIGGING OUT. BLESS YOU!
Por um novo tempo
God bless Simon and Garfunkel
No gimmicks, just raw talent.
this concert was beautiful they look relaxed and happy to be singing together
Looks can be deceiving. At this point they actually hate each other but did the concern anyway
Exactly forty years ago today this concert was held in central part. Each time I watch this video I feel it's just happening right before my eyes. Salute to S&G. The best concert ever!
I'm very happy now..
This shit is actual live no special effects or auto tune period !
one of the best duos in the world
Tengo 15 años y soy de los únicos de mi círculo social a los que le gusta esta música bellisima

Whoever thumbs down . No clue what rock and roll it era means. If they can watch Woodstock 69 lots of legend produced in that concert
This concert started out great and became better and better as the evening went on. They are at the Top of their Game during this period. Fabulous!!!

Thanks to my aunt, I used to listen to every latest song in all her albums and this two were one of them. Never fails to be reminded of her.
I always loved The Graduate, the movie by Mike Nichols, starring Dustin Hoffmann and Anne Bancroft
Girl bought me this LP in 1985, was tragically killed in 1986. Still miss her!

Angela Patterson yesssss
The best live performance of Paul and Art : absolutly perfect ! I'm italian and for me this concert is a real dream : Simon and Garfunkel at Central Park , the TOP !!! 🇮🇹🇺🇲
I watched this 3 hour concert on a VHS video in 1979 - 1980...I was 12. Great memories...awesome music. Can’t believe that that was 40/years ago!
This concert was about 80 minutes, and performed in 1981 :-)
The lyrics were originally "Mrs. Roosevelt". Paul Simon played riffs of the song as filler music for "The Graduate" during filming. He changed the words to Mrs. Robinson for the movie, but didn't have a completed song at the release of the film. It wasn't till "Mrs. Robinson" became a hit after the movie was released that he finished the song and recorded it. He said the "Joe DiMaggio" line came to him in a stream of consciousness. He wasn't sure what It meant, he just liked the way it sounded.
ssazerac thanks but no thanks. So sick of people posting their “special insight”. Your not great. S&G are great. See ya!!
@@jefffoster8614 Not my insight. Paul Simon's explanation in this interview: th-cam.com/video/vzDp2d5b_o8/w-d-xo.html
So... this is awkward... for you.
ssazerac - Yeah, this song was originally written for Mrs. Roosevelt, First Lady to the President that lifted America out of the Depression, through WWII and into the economic boom, baby boom '50's... It was meant as a nostalgic song about a more innocent, honest time... A church-going time... A more hopeful time... America had lost its way and was looking back... Don't mind Jeff Foster, the world is full of bitter people, hey, hey, hey...
Sometime two people come together, they click and this is what you get, PERFECTION!!!!
My cousin had the double LP of this unique concert: when I first heard the album at the age of 14, I was overwhelmed by this sensational music. The fascination and enthusiasm for this album has not lost even after 40 years.
My exact timeframe
In the LP, do you still hear the audience in the background, or is it just S&G
@@jimmyskwid9002 yes, you hear the audience and feel the enthusiasm
@@DonFranko68 cool. Something about hearing the audience with S&G enhances the experience, to me personally at least. Wish I could see em (S&G)
Everytime I hear this song I think about my maths teacher I had a few years ago. She was extremely sweet and nice, she also knew I had horrible anxiety along with others in class and wouldn’t feel comfortable raising our hands to ask for help so she would always come and see if we needed help 💗 she never knew much much it meant to me but I was devastated when I didn’t get her foe the next school year

the simplicity of concerts back then, just the band and the audience, no big name concert halls, just a big wooden water tank for a background, life was so simple and uncomplicated back then. so sad this isn't going to happen anymore.

LOVE THESE TWO!!!! Just beyond wonderful. But just fyi: This concert was NOT, IN NO WAY, in 2015. These performers are much much older now. Much older. But they still sound the same. Truly wonderful.
Hickey BoDickey Yep. Only posted here in that year.

Wish those two had gotten along better over the decades. Never got enough songs with them together.
