My dads second van build on a 2011 Chevy Express is more of an overland designed build.

These should be standard issue for every veteran that wants one, to park in his or her standard issued garage that’s right next to their standard issued brick house. Stand up for vets they stood for us!

Same way I don't want my taxes going to Ukraine and Israel I don't want my taxes going to buy a veteran a free car and a free home. The military you literally have your healthcare your food and your living all paid for why in the world did they use what money they were given to put a down payment on a home. I'm going to say what most people aren't willing to all I see is bad money management and a hint of drug\alchol abuse. The military is a job and you get paid to do so you don't deserve free things after you finish said job. At least that's not what I want my tax dollars going.
@@AmirShafeek Wow, I can feel your disdain from here. It's not free & when the job gives veterans PTSD that doesn't get covered by their healthcare, it sends them down a spiral. With that lack of empathy, you should be a Republican. I'd rather my money go to helping a veteran remain housed than to Ratheon or Boeing.
@@AmirShafeek complain about what the government sends these people to do and don't complain about what they do or don't deserve after they have done things you wouldn't do and that's easy to see by your unappreciative comment. More so if your worries about your tax dollars start going to council meetings and change the way YOUR tax money actually works. Military is funded by big corporations. Go do the math of your taxes the population of your cities taxes. Do the math and then go ask your city council why they spend more than all the money people in the community pay. And then go do some more math......
This is a van i would use constantly. Others try to make their builds so cute and pretty but this guy kept his van manly. It jas everything you need and nothing of what you dont need. Love it.

If you are referring to a cat spraying I’m sure if that is a male cat that he has been fixed which will stop the the cat from spraying so the cat is no smellier than a dog. Cats make a house smell bad. I can't imagine that in a van.
Cays have dandruff, shedding, and spit. Plus the cats waste.

geniusly stupid. the doors are one full metal piece and as such a conductor of both heat and cold, and become a literal fridge in winter. doors should be insulated too and covered with a few layers of insulation as a barrier. what more do you think is genius, having a convertible in winter?

@@malatipaul9143 I reached out to my dad, he doesn’t remember the exact cost but a rough estimate of 34-40k $ for the van, build, upgrades, paint job etc.
Well man this is a sweet build. I really like the features of this vehicle. The functionality is out of this world. My dad did the same thing with his old van and the doors for the exact same reason. He used it for fishing expeditions. It was old school but he had it all set up inside back in the 90's. Good to see rigs like this man.
Love the 4x4. You're a brave man if those straps are the only thing holding those water tanks on. I've got metal straps and 2 ratchet straps holding mine on. Love everything about your van sir.

This is one of the best van setups I’ve seen. They only way it could be better is E-350 insignias.
Turbo diesel, yes. They are deceptively fast and powerful

Nice! I need to redo mine. My son just put a rebuilt trani … but the beast has already paid for itself because I just haven’t paid rent in over a decade…. I have more than one free and clear property But with my beast I can choose the view I choose. Drive the Chevy!

Absolutely beautiful work
Really nice build. Great engineering. Looks like DIY Rhino paint which is great for upkeep. Being able to sleep side to side not possible for most. When you think about what having a van like this introduces as far as access (and having to drive back somewhere) and saves in hotels and possibly even rent - it's worth every penny and hour spent.
What is the side to side measurement?
I do not know how I am just now seeing this, but THIS truck is fing killer

The whole setup is great but having that awning would be so cool and practical. Definitely need to keep this in mind if I ever do my own build.
Very macho build, it actually has quite a bit of an army feel to it.
I love everything about it. Only thing I woukd change is the get rid of sink. I would use 2 collapsible bins to do dishes leaving more space in the van where sink woukd have been.

I know it's heavy and not built for good gas mileage, curious what kind of gas mileage you're getting? Almost looks like the exterior is Rhino lined or Line X'd and that looks fantastic. 4:20 It wouldn't take much to frame out the door cutouts and gaps with panel "U" trim. He'd still get all of the storage and it would look cleaner. I might just have to think about this for myself

Great van, as everything you need. Only complain is interior height, after a while it does become an issue.
i think i might go this route of vehicle as promaster is really expensive. i also recommend anyone running 120v outlet to install a gfci outlet or gfci breaker. nice build though.

He Almost made the pop up top on it but decided to sell it and buy a high roof. Love those pop up tops
