New challenge idea: beat Mario 64 without any special moves
No triple jump, backflip, side flip, long jump, wall jump, dive, and no crouching.
@NinTune it's not meant to be a particularly difficult challenge. Its more of a change in how the game is played to add a new layer of entertainment.

The star from 11:36 is quirpte easy to get: just jump to the penguin’s head and wait till he has crossed the entire icy platform

you can get the star on top of the giant snow man's head if you get on the penguin's head and let him carry you across, no one ever realizes that you can just do that.

A year ago SwankyBox made a video where he checks if it's possible to beta SM64 while always jumping. Here you checked it by always crouching. I love watching people doing "is it possible" challenges within Mario Games.

You can wall kick out of a backflip, so by wall kicking on the wall of the pits in HMC you should be able to cross the gap

It sometimes happens when Mario is too far away from the camera. When Mario is too far away from the camera, the game can't render him correctly, so he enters a funny state, also known as Lego Mario.

The only explanation I can think of for why Mario can crawl up the extremely steep walls that he cannot stand on is that Peter Parker gave Mario an early prototype of the Spider-Suit. (I mean, they both wear red and blue!)

You can jump on the penguin’s head and the snowman can’t blow you off.
For the penguin in Course 10, you can backflip on its head to make that easier to get that star!

LMAO, before reading the comments, I thought I was the only one who knew that you can stand on the penguin's head in Snowman's Land and ride him instead of hiding behind him away from the wind.
In the Japanese official guide for Mario 64 this is how you are instructed. But I think it's different in the English guide for the game.

Edit 0: I've made it past the RUUUUUUUULEZ, I predict Bowser in the Dark World is going to stop you. Let's see.
Edit 1: Oh, I was wrong. Now I'm going to assume this challenge is possible.
Edit 2: I would like to point a couple things out.
#1: *Hazy Maze Cave.* I guess you can take the path to the right, as the gap before the door isn't as wide as the one on the left. When you backflip off an edge, you can wall kick off the wall below. I think that could be used to clear the gap.
#2: *Snowman's Land.* To reach the first star, you can jump on the top on the penguin's head and let it carry you to the other side.
Why would Bowser In The Dark World stop him? This challenge is easy lol

@@alisiaale565 Yes, you can. Though, it's impossible to walljump off a wall you have your back turned to, you can only do it off a wall you are front facing. If you're familiar with the speedrun strategy used in Cool Cool Mountain for Star #6, such maneuver is used there

The video says "Is it possible to beat Super Mario 64 while ALWAYS CROUCHING", but if you do a backflip, technically, you're not crouching for those few seconds. And as Nico said, "You can do a backflip _while_ crouching", except technically, as I said, you're not actually crouching at all, _while_ you're doing a backflip.
