In the gen 7 games, if you feed your Pokémon some beans and then order a drink, I'm like 90% sure the guy sees you feed your Pokémon and gives you a Rare Candy. I think it was a daily thing too.
You got Rare Candies from the cafe owner based on how many beans you fed your Pokemon overall, getting a single candy for each milestone. It was most certainly not a daily thing. What was daily was getting twelve normal beans from him when you buy a drink, along with a random regional specialty healing item.
I assume it’s like how they work in a mall, where there’s a middle platform that connects to one going up and another going down. You just don’t see that middle platform.
Here in Germany we actually have escalators that can go both up and down. When these escalators aren't in use you can make them go one of the two directions by approaching them, but if it's used and it's not the direction you need you gotta wait or use the stairs...
In USUM i used the hell outta the cafe because i needed the beans to increase pokemon affection for the ultra necrozma fight lol. I used the cafe religiously
I really dislike the Scarlet & Violet Poké Center, because it's in the gas station style. It feels so rushed and individualistic, where I'd rather put my beloved Pokémon in hands of a nurse inside a warm cosy building.

I remember being so relieved to see "POKE" in Pokemon Blue as a kid who didn't use Flash in Rock Tunnel and Repels while surfing that I'd put it in S-tier for that alone.
If the next gen games do include an open world again, I do hope that they return to buildings or something in between, making it feel easy to access in the open, but still have some sort of inside part. Pokémon Centers have always felt like inns, a comfy house to rest in, so SV kinda changed that idea...
I mean, if you look at some of the pokemon center location in sv it makes sense why its open. You're not gonna randomly have a whole ass building in the middle of the bamboo forest.
Worth mentioning that the Pokémon Centers in HGSS have different roof colours in some cities (I know Violet, Ecruteak and Fuschia are different) which is super fun

Gen 5 does not need a remake. We need to start saying no to remakes. Remakes are only deserved when a game is so old it's barely if at all accessible by anyone anymore. They don't even make good remakes anymore. BDSP was extremely bad it's not even funny.
A little thing, but I like that the Sword and Shield one has doors behind the info center and shop. It’s always been a pet peeve of mine that there’s almost never any implication of an employees only area or how the employees actually get behind the counter aside from crawling over it lol. The Sword and Shield center is really just missing some seating (and a door for nurse Joy, but I doubt anyone else cares about that 🙃).
About the globe in BW: It actually showed the locations of people you have battle and traded with, too. Not just your own. Super nice when you had like people from all over on your globe.
I gotta say all my rankings would be based on size and proximity to the door. Pokémon Centers serve less than no purpose besides healing and party management and you all know it. If I could do both at a random kiosk in each town it would eliminate the Center entirely.
I am and always will be a firm believer that the pokemon center and the pokemart should be different buildings, we got done dirty by the removal of the pokemart music which was always some of the best in the game IMO especially in oras.
I completely forgot how blown away I was by the XY pokemon centers!! They definitely were something special. I feel like BW and XY definitely had HUGE upgrades to the Pokemon Center layout and aesthetic that made a great difference.

Another detail about the Heart Gold/Soul Silver center. Here in Japan, there are advertisement color laws depending on the historical significance of some areas of Japan like Kyoto. In Heart Gold/Soul Silver, in any of the older style towns the Pokemon centers are a darker red to reflect this in the game. I didn’t realize this until I saw Kyoto style 7-11 and Starbucks.
Gen 5 started the evolution of what a Pokemon centre could be by combining it with a mart. Gen 9’s are best because you don’t even need to walk through a door loading zone anymore, that’s true innovation
As someone who grew up watching the pokemon anime first rather than the game, the Scarlet and Violet one is kinda disappointing. The anime gave the pokemon center and nurse Joy so much personality and made it essential to it's size. But I can't feel that in the Scarlet and Violet. Why is it so small? Oh what's that? You mean to tell me that it's because they can just heal in the balls with a just a few press of the buttons, so it's not necessary to have a big place? Is that what your trying to tell me? You mean to tell me that they're just leaning in more to the game mechanics and game world? NAY I SAY!! That being said. I would be moreso satisfied if they didn't cram all three attendees in the same place.
How about ranking mini games like the Pokeathlon or Contests? Or Ranking the Starting Towns, or the Biggest cities of each region, ranking the final gym designs of each region, the different evil teams etc
Ah yes put Hoen and LF/FR and D/P/Pt in B C and D tier, because lack of furniture and plants. But somehow HG/SS with literally 1 plant more and 0,0 furniture gets A tier.

i don't know if anyone else feel/felt this way, but the RSE PC always pissed me off, even as a kid, because you can't stand in the exact center of the pokeball, and i always liked save and turn off my game while standing in the center of the ball in the floor in the other games
Utility wise the Scarlet and Violet ones are by far the best, with no competition whatsoever, everything you need in a pokecenter is literally right next to each other, and the color coded vendors are perfect for new players
Although it's about pokemon center, it's always nice seeing a pokemon cc appreciating something about xy and sm instead of yapping about "why are modern Pokémon games so bad"
Kalos, Unova and Alola Centers are my personal favorites. Galar's bub design comes close behind, but drops out of the top3. I also like some Anime designs, such as the forest cabin Pokemon Centers from Indigo League arc and the movie I Choose You.
