  • Album Flash was a show on Cinemax that promoted current albums being released. This episode featured "Breaking Hearts" by Elton John and featured interviews with Elton, Bernie Taupin, John Reid, Dee Murray 17:23 and Nigel Olsson 18:31. It also includes numerous music clips, including the then current "Sad Songs (Say So Much)" music video 13:08. Nice video montage of "Passengers" as well 22:56.

I wish they talked about more songs than just Restless and Sad Songs. In Neon and Burning Buildings are the two hidden gems in that album

'In NEON , the Name's gone , there's no reason why anymore . Trust them and wind up alone...Behind a locked door' (Paul)

'Such cruel sport for your kicks.....Such hard knocks on my heart....How long before the pain ends....Tell me when living starts. (Paul)

Interesting that Elton thought Breaking Hearts was better than Too Low for Zero. I’d give the edge to Too Low, but Breaking Hearts has some excellent material. Glad to see Bernie Taupin interviewed here, some good insight into how they write.

Breaking hearts is my favorite 80s album right next to the fox and sleeping with the past
