Bernie is a wonderful poet and songwriter. Been listening to Elton since the 70’s. Great memories!❤id love to watch Bernie’s writing. He’s also so handsome. We can’t get our youth back but change to a more seasoned version of ourselves. Thank you to both for all the great memories!
I have always wondered what Mr Taupin’s voice sounded like.....now I know. Many thanks for posting. It’s always interesting to hear the background stories of people whom you admire.
What an articulate expressive free flowing guy Bernie really is. Hardly an umm or ahh in the whole interview. There were times I wished Glenn Shorrock would just shut up and let the poor guy finish. With such a grasp of the language it's no wonder he is a world class lyricist.
I’ve been listening to Elton’s music since the mid 1970s. Today is the first time I’ve watched an interview with Bernie Taupin. It’s a strange feeling to finally hear the man behind the lyrics. What I mean is I have great admiration for both of them.
I hear a harpsichord in this song..anyone else? Elton said it was a little difficult to play re another song. Beautiful song. Thank you so much for the lovely memories.❤
I'm Still Standing was a big hit for Elton, but I hate to this day. I consider it the song that began the decline of Elton John along with his Rock Of The Westies album (Island Girl 🤮) There were only 2 good ones after that, Blue Eyes and Sacrifice.

bernie looks really handsome.
Both Bernie and Elton are so damn handsome, it hurts haha!
@@RetroSoulGirlThe story goes that when Gus Dudgeon met them both, he thought, for a short while, that Bernie was Elton.

He is so handsome he could have been a movie star and of course talented !!
He's transgender like all celebrities
Plastic surgery.
I agree❤
One of the great lyricists - bout time he got into the Rock n Roll HOF
RRHF is a big joke. He should be there, and phil collins, and genesis and toto

lyrical genius

Damn.. An interview with one of my favorite singers from The Little River Band, with one of my favorite song writers Bernie Taupin!!!
"it's funny how one insect, can damage so much grain". Amazing line.
I hear a harpsichord in this song..anyone else? Elton said it was a little difficult to play re another song. Beautiful song. Thank you so much for the lovely memories.❤
Beautiful song
This guy is simply brilliant !
When he arches his eyes, he's Sean Connery.
Bernie was HOT
Lad from Lincolnshire :)
Is the complete interview out there? Thank you for the upload.
He's on the Mt Rushmore of songwriters.
Dream Team. Elton's songs wouldn't be as meaningful without Bernie, and they wouldn't have been as great without Elton
I love the way he captures my feelings; and, puts them into words way better than I ever could!
If Elton were Bernie he will be perfect as person but... Nobody's perfect... I love both !!!
Interesting interview.
They are the greatest thondem in music of the world friends
The interviewer keeps interrupting the answer that he asked for.
He looks so Italian.
Must be that Spanish influence in Britain ages ago.
His grandparents were French, but he was born just outside of Sleaford, not far from me, in Lincolnshire
Taupin is a French surname.
It is great to see Bernie Taupin but I am not happy with the interviewer- he keeps interrupting...
Right. It's annoying when interviewers do that.
Handsome Lyrics artiest
what the band's name bt mentions at about 3:20?
Procol Harum (A Whiter Shade of Pale).....
cool thanx.
😊
Is that Glenn Shorrock conducting the interview?
It is, he hosted the tv show "Rock Arena" during 1986
Sure is!
Q-T!!!
He seems so together. Amazing that he abused alcohol and cocaine for so many years.
Is this interviewer doing some kind of court-ordered community service? He seems totally disinterested.
That interviewer is glen shorrock - lead singer of the little river band (L.R.B)!!!!!
I find him very strange too... keeps interrupting Bernie!
Shorrock is shitting himself.

Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics to Sacrifice. I do like Elton's 70s songs the best.
he not hansome mow the bull give him a hard time
what?
ray williams is my husband, who found elton john! he has been treated so badly by elton!!
Ray Williams nice
I heard Ray describing the Palm Springs incident in another video. That was not cool of Elton. However, it seems that Dick James was a real bastard.
I liked it when Bernie said of Elton, "He could be Santa Clause one minute, and the devil incarnate the next!"
Dick James was the one who fired Ray and cheated him.
@@johnnastrom9400 Thanks for being so 'informative' about the "Parm Springs Incident"! What happened exactly?
