Yes, I have a natural tendency to sleep for long hours, and when I wake up I'll feel better physically and mentally. Afterward to get back on track I need to spent quality spiritual time with the creator of the worlds to thank Him for all His blessings for me and other mankind. Thanks Brian Tracy,I watched your speeches via U tube and automatically considered you as my virtual mentor.

I don't know if I made the smartest choice, but I started freelance writing in the middle of a high - risk pregnancy. I needed something to keep my mind busy so I wouldn't get depressed. I now have two kids, younger is 10 months old, I am a stay-at-home working mom of 2 and burnt out to the point where I basically stopped feeling. I literally don't feel anything, and I snap at the small frustrations. Should I:
      A. Pause my work and take a couple of days to myself?
      B. Try to reorganize tasks so I can get the minimum work done.
      C. Something else I didn't think of.
The problem is I started out strong, making nice profits, needing very little help, so no one really believes me when I say I'm falling apart. I also have financial obligations and people depending on my income. Needless to say, I might be suffering from high functioning anxiety. Thanks to anyone reading this, and I will appreciate any response, even if it's tough to hear.

I am burned out because of prolonged academic stress.
Consistent efforts and overthinking every smallest situation or decision i made in past.
My body signed me during december of 2023 that u need a break from all this, but i ignored my inner voice.
I was annoyed of the fact that why do my body signals for break in every 2 months?
But then i realised that in those 2 months,i do my best.the best i can.
And after ignoring myself since December,i had ny practicals in January and February.
March(present)is all about my final exams.
    Infact i have one tomorrow.
And once my finals are finished,
I have several entrance exams for university.
But i have realised that i have to recover from burnout first and then start yo focus on my university exams.
Ignoring the voice of your inner soul is definitely not a solution.
And today i have realised that!

Yes, I've been burned out alright, and it's so hard to recover from, but thankfully, after a long time, I am. Recovery took self analysis, seeing what was wrong with my life, and getting rid of people and situations and thoughts that were toxic. I took time off from everything I could, and concentrated on myself for a change. Gave myself precious time to rest and heal, and make a new plan for my life that is realistic and doable. I hit rock bottom, and thought I could never rise again, so take heart if you feel like this, as life is changing you for the better, and you do eventually begin to rise again- from the bottom, exhausted, but with a plan of action and self love, the right decisions and impetus comes and you realise you got this! Step- by-step, a new life begins in you and for you!
Thank you sir for this video, and all the best to everyone here! 👍

I burned out 2 years and a half ago. It made me change my whole life and vision. Quit job, then 4 Months of practically "vegetable mood" then started with exercises, vacations, nutrition, more exercises, more burned out in the process and lots of tries and fails. I kept on it then discover i needed to work on the mental part and so i did.
It's been 2 years and I am still in the process, but i am in a better situation now. I lost my passion but discovered 100 more.
Finding out my values and goals has been so helpful and i feel like i did every step mentioned in that order without even knowing it in time. I wish i could have found this a lot early though.
It's been a great journey and I am grateful for it.

When's the last time you travelled somewhere purely to enjoy yourself?
Not "I want to go to Disneyland", but "I want to visit Italy".
Maybe a small vacation without a lot of planning is in order; think of a location you've never been that has features you'd like to experience or that you know you enjoy. Work out the travel arrangements and have a couple hotels in mind, a means to get around, and just explore. See where the day takes you but go in without actual expectations: this restaurant smells nice, I'll go in and see what it's like. That wine looks nice, I'll have a glass. This pasta sounds interesting, why not? Afterwards go for a walk along the coastline, a local park, a nice looking street - just take time to truly engage with your environment and enjoy it as it comes to you. Engage your eyes, ears, nose, hands if you can - the world we regularly see as small and suffocating is vast and expansive.
You deserve a chance to enjoy it.

Recently just started a new job and completely overcommited to it. I wanted to make a good impression and impress everyone there with my capability to "take on as much work as possible". Worst part is that I didn't even realize I was overworking myself. I thought that other things in life were causing the issue. I couldn't relax or shut off so I desperately tried to find the solution until I realized that my working schedule, something I spend the majority of my day time with may be causing the problem and I should tune things down by being honest to myself and to my coworkers. I came back to work and explained my situation and fortunately was understood. If not then I certainly would have gone for a new job.
For anyone who is suffering from burnout: Know that every feeling is temporary, keep on going and figure out what you've been doing wrong that might be causing the problem. Go easy on yourself!

Every time I've managed to push myself and gain momentum with my preparation, there's another postponement and that absolutely crushes my motivation. I've come to a point where I simply don't care about my exams anymore and if this continues, I will fail my exams whenever they happen and will effectively waste over a year's worth of hard work. I don't know how to motivate and push myself again to prepare, it just seems like too much at this point.

Thank you for this. I am a business owner who has worked super hard past three years and was obsessing and always beating myself up for too long. I was always thinking too much about what could go wrong. We have a nice company and I arrived at success and hit a wall because I had neglected my personal life for so long and was under a lot of stress. I also had a back injury which didn’t help which I am almost recovered from now. Long story short I found myself being more tired and not wanting to deal with things, just needed a break and couldn’t get one. Recently I have had really bad anxiety attacks and it was all from the complete exhaustion. I am now on the road to recovering and I am making it a priority to take care of myself and reduce stress. I am changing my way of thinking. There is no need to create extra stress through worry. I know I will get back to a new and improved self, and this is going to make me stronger.

I have been suffering from burnout that I thought earlier as depression... it was really hard to deal with unless find out and accept that it's a burnout... it's like complete exhaustion in aspects such as mental, physical and emotional... you get overwhelmed by a lot of things and starts to hate even the smaller things... you have that feeling of dissatisfaction with the touch of being out control...and then you start becoming more and more antisocial... I tend to lock myself in my room everyday because whenever I talk to people around me, i feel really exhausted... Being burned out, I became more unproductive and unwell (health wise) which have made me realize that I have to deal with it once and for all... the first thing I did was to figure out what really did cause my burning out... I realized it was my job and the circle I am in that caused it... my job was never in tune with my capabilities no matter how easy it was and the environment in my job and in the job dorm is too hostile, hypocritical and toxic even though it was supposed to be a christian institution... seeing that I am much happier whenever I get away from that type of environment, I realized that the only thing I have to do is to quit... so I did quit my job and left... now I am on the process of healing and regaining my motivation...

I was born in Hungary. At 21 I decided to move to Austria for a chance of having a better life. I didnt know german at that point but I created a system in order to learn to language fast. Each day I made progress... and at one point, after being there for 2 years, i decided to go to college and study part-time business and management (german), all while working fulltime. The beginning was confusing and full of stress as i didnt understand much, but i bought the recommended books and memorized everything... Everything... On the weekdays: waking up sometimes at 5:00 am only to work until 14:00 then do the housework, cooking etc. (as i was living alone) and afternoon studying. My Fridays look like so: Wake up at 5, go to work until 12:00, go home grab some food, and then go to college until 22:00, Saturday: 8:30 - 16:30 studying... It went on for 2 years. I still have a year left, and need to write 2 Bacherlor thesis. Since then I changed work. I finally got an internship in Process Management at a big company...Everyday it takes an 1:30 hours to go to the workplace back and forth. I wake up at 5:00 and get home at around 17:00.
I think I´m burnt out. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought that its only a year... Im trying to survive this last year.

@@henrynguyen6799 A good approach to caffeine would be to ask: why do I enjoy it so much?
Is it the taste, the rush, are you hooked on how it makes you feel or the perception of it?
There's caffeine gum out there and honestly tasting that ruined my addiction to caffeine. I decided I love the taste of coffee vs caffeine, so I switched to decaff; now I can drink coffee anytime I want. including at night, and not feel bad xD
I still indulge caffeine now and then but never to the extent I did; all things in moderation as cheesy as it may sound. Caffeine isn't inherently bad, it's just something we overrely on socially; it becomes negative when we cant function without it

@@socialismodemocracia9366 Caffeine is a stimulant and carries risk of addiction. With addiction comes dependency on the substance to function properly as well as increasing tolerance for the dosage; too much caffeine can cause heart problems as well as possible death. Attempting to stop consuming caffeine can lead to withdrawal symptoms (all negative).
Short term: Caffeine gives a boost of energy as well as thickens the grey matter of the brain. This thickening can negatively affect memory, attention, and mood while the stuff works its way out of your system. It's not inherently bad and as far as stimulants go is very mild, but addiction to anything isn't good for the body.

I am currently burned out, having a vacation next week after 3 years of nonstop hustling. I have come to realize that what I can give and what is expected of me don't allign. Mediocricy is expected of me and it took me 3 years to realize that. It came in the form fo me doing my best to give out a great quality product that was not appreciated. I did that several times with big projects that didn't have the impact I expected and was not because of the quality but because it was "too much". In time I realized that people in the company I'm working at doesn't have the ability to appreciate it and they ask for more mindless activities from me. That's the misalignment with my values. It is hard for me to do the "bare minimum" and I've caught myself suddenly start to do more than that which ultimately will lead again to my efforts not being appreciated. So I'm trying to see how to reconcile that. thank you for the video

I then lose motivation to complete my own goals and have to recover then correct my path and continue. Rest and lots of sleep, being forgiving of myself for being tired and basically just do nothing and be still. That is the hardest to force myself to relax, rest and recover. I gradually return to my usual activities such as study and social interactions.

The stated goals and values of my previous employer were perfectly aligned with my own when I interviewed for the position, and this was a major factor in accepting their job offer. I turned down better offers for companies who were not as aligned with my own values. In practice the real values of the company ended up being diametrically opposed to their stated ones, which (hindsight being 20/20) should have been evident in the first few months. After four years in the company, I had an hypertension attack and a burnout. I was then made redundant on the fifth year. I have recovered from the hypertension and I'm still working on recovering from the burn out. I really should have left when it became apparent that our values and goals were incompatible.

Brian, this is a wonderful video. This topic is very close to me at the present time in my life. For the last 27 years, I have been in the music industry and for the last 12 years, have ran my own professional jazz studio called Sound 81 Productions. It has been a life that has been rewarding, but has hit a time for self reflection. Recently, I have just accepted that I have reached a burnout point. It was hard to come to terms with and talking with my staff, students, and clients who I'm thankful to have passed knowledge onto and do business with was the hardest. We also become like family. I felt like a failure to them and myself. Teaching others how to build strength in their life, that they can follow their dreams and become successful, and always being the rock for others, I had lacked in my own self care. 2 years ago, I lost one of my mentors I built the studio with. From the time to now, new stress and life issues have built up to a point where what I once loved, became what I wanted to escape. I say this with humility, but I have achieved a level in my career that my work is known and expected to be at a certain level. It hasn't been where it once was because of the constant stress in the environment I am in, and people close to me have noticed and brought it to my attention. I've lived a life giving everything I have to help others achieve their dreams and have no regrets, but I feel stuck. I work with so many young people who are so excited to explore their gifts and be apart of an industry that most people dream of, and it has become difficult to keep this facade on myself that everything is ok in my life. How you described burnout and the advice you gave in this short video turned a lightbulb on. The last few weeks I have started to make plans for a change for my own wellbeing and health. Seeing this video was a sign for me and I appreciate your advice. I'd like to be around in this world for a longtime and know that I must make changes to do that, even if it is changing careers, and/or environments. I have just started my new journey to bring health and wellness back into my life and again, this video hit on everything I have been needing to hear. This is a first for me leaving a long comment on someones video. Sharing this story and typing this comment have already helped make this real and accept this burnout, that it's ok, and I can recover from it as you said. On a positive side, I have started yoga again and regular exercise, have gone back to a healthier diet I once did have, the support from friends and family have been positive, and each day I've allowed myself to be ok with this new life change. I'm only around a month in to recovery from this burnout, but hearing from people like yourself, truly inspires myself and others that it can be done. Thank you for your advice and hope you have a wonderful day.

It's been a long time since coming in contact with your knowledge Tracey! I really appreciated this video and found it valuable.
I would have to agree that regular exercise, sleep and a healthy diet does go a long way. I think it's the foundation which supports a skyscraper. But I do remember a time when I felt like I was on the edge of burning out dispite following the 3 self care foundations. At that stage to pull myself out I completely kicked coffee out (I noticed coffee although can help me be productive also makes me slightly anxious) then pushed all my tasks through a priority filter. Focusing on only the top 3 task each day which leveraged and solve 70% of the rest of my problems.
That really helped me move from being a headless chicken running around being busy. To a calm and creative state which allow me to feel like I'm moving through my day with focus and purpose.
