What’s made this game so enjoyable for me is how straight forward the stats are. No more “2.5% chance to Overpower a knocked up frozen enemy for 0.87% extra damage if crit on its way down”

In all seriousness I think its the crafting system that wins the day for LE. Even though so much is amazing, like there 15 classes versus 5 with D4.

If you do want to try LE but hate that the price is so low, you do have 2 more options for pre order- $50 and $65 editions.
It's not $70 or $100 but at least it's something...
I find it easy to hit those Blizzard prices if you gift a few copies to your friends. Hope this helps

Funnily, as long as LE cycles are offset from POE leagues like they'll at least start out being, it'll never really be a competition more like enhancing eachother as people bounce back and forth after they complete one

There are $10 pixel art indie ARPGs that put D4 to shame, that don't charge $100 for each expansion.

@@zjoee 😂 Nice. I get the impression that most people don't watch the original after seeing the impressions videos, maybe you're the exception. It TH-cam added a "impressions" view count in brackets next to the normal view count, because in this case it has received a lot more attention via other sources (hopefully people will sub to this channel because of the exposure).
That being said.. I think I've put D4 into the category of Cyberpunk 2077's release, as in maybe it'll be worth playing in a year or 2 (after release). So I too maybe "hating" Last Epoch a bunch 🤣

You won't regret it. I also just started and can already say that it is more than worth it. And it is very important in my opinion to also funancially support developers that care foremost about their players and the game than to generate shareholder revenues.

By the way, I have a couple of things I would like to tell you / discuss after carefully watching the video again.
Firstly, the Last Epoch channel link in the description is broken. Secondly, I really think this video has potential to reach audience of other languages. I have been trying to tell my friends (who speak Mandarin mostly) about Last Epoch but haven't found a good video to introduce it to them. I think this is perfect. Would you entertain the idea of adding Chinese subtitle for the video? (possibly other language, too, but myself is only capable of doing the Chinese part).
If you're interested in the subtitle idea we can talk more. You could perhaps add some social accounts to the about page on the channel? (Discord? Twitter?)

@@FrostylarooI’m happy to volunteer for the Mandarin subtitle if you could share subtitle editing permission. Mandarin/Chinese is my mother tongue and I’ve been living in the US for 12 years now so English shouldn’t be a problem either. Played Diablo game for life and LE for 80 hours so far.

Another reason to hate Last Epoch is: "The lootfilter can even be changed on the spot (switch profiles) to quickly check a big pile of loot for two different types of items... who wants that? And before I forget, there's even an idol system (for mostly resistances), AGAIN? That's so Diablo 2, we're so over that." /s -- on a Serious note, loved the video and voice!
On a serious note, the skill tree part is why I think Last Epoch > Path of Exile.
That PoE skill tree is just a monster full of "+1 str" nodes. It is an excel sheet nightmare.

I paid £13 for the game, played got 600 hours and then paid £35 for the ultimate edition upgrade and dont regret it 1 bit. I bought D4 and played for about 100 and will never go back (cant say i regret it though)

The only problem is that Path of Excrement doesn't hold a candle to Last Epoch. Not even a spark. It's like comparing a Michelin Star brownie to a dog turd.
People are drawn to PoE because they want SO DESPERATELY to destroy Diablo's popularity over trivial garbage. D1 and D2 will NEVER be trumped by any game. But D3 and D4 are destroyed by NWN, BG, Dungeon Siege 1 & 2, Grim Dawn, and now, Last Epoch.
Path of Excrement is equal to Sacred 1. That is where it stands. 1 3 million players. That's all it has. Pretty sad.

LE is for Diablo2 lovers
D2 really isn't any better than D4, people are just being nostalgic. Blizzard completely messed up the gameplay loop when they introduced synergies, because this resulted in players using way fewer skills. This combined with the introduction of immunities made the game almost unplayable.
And lets not forget how Blizzard decided that people should no longer enjoy the cow level by massively nerfing the exp gain. Apparently people were farming exp and items too easily in that region. It was one of the most fun parts of the game. Thanks Blizzard.
@@ETBrooD D2 does some things wrong no doubt. I think runewords are far too powerful and some legendaries need to be given boosts. Act 3 is a slog. However, D2 gets more things right than D4 does and is overall a better arpg. But the crazy thing is Blizzard had all these years since D2 to learn from it and make D4 excellent, but they couldnt. You can excuse D2 because its old. D4 has no excuse to be the state its in. D2 is better, Grim Dawn is better, Torchlight 2 is better. Havent tried Last Epoch but it seems like its better too.

@@ETBrooD D2 has better quantity *and* quality of loot. That alone makes it better. That's a huge component of an ARPG. On top of that D2 has more build diversity than D4 [not as much as LE or PoE]. Another big one for ARPGs. Synergies didn't limit the skills compared to classic since those earlier level non-synergized skills were not used end game due to their weakness. That's *why* synergies were added. Leveling in cows is not the only way cows is enjoyed. People enjoy cows because 1. good way to get loot / runes 2. To make builds tailored specifically for cow runs.
@@bruh4977 I dont know how I forgot PoE lol. Played it for years, was a backer in beta, still have my kiwi pet. Excellent game, but its got really zoomy lately which is a turnoff for me. Looking forward to PoE 2. Have to say we are really spoiled as arpg fans, this genre has more hits that misses.

Sarcasm aside, a very fun game that anyone who ever enjoyed a Diablo game (for me, it was 2) should play.
The launch has been good... not great, not bad, just kind of annoying with long load times and matchmaking issues. It's gotten better over the course of the weekend, I give the developers props for continuously working on it, but it still needs improvements. The game itself is playable once you get in, so they got that part right, and we've been having fun for the first 4 days in spite of the hiccups. Was playing with a buddy, so offline wasn't an option for us, but available to everyone else.
Finally a Diablo 4 content creator that understands me.

FYI, you can have 200 stash tabs in LE which are customizable.

All the teenage irony attempts aside ("haha, we write the total opposite of what we mean, we're edgy like that!"), Last Epoch just doesn't have any atmosphere. Story, characters, the world to explore, everything is completely generic and forgettable. I know that those are not the main criteria for hardcore arpg nerds, but some folks just want to be a little bit immersed in the world they're playing in, and Last Epoch doesn't even try on that front. It also still has a substantial amount of bugs, and I fail to see how most of them will be tackled in less than 10 days.

The cool...er bad thing... about Last Epoch is that despite having a mass of choices, it's fairly easy to put together a build. I made one without a guide. A Void Knight based around Void Cleave, which I made part fire damage, which also casts Abyssal Echoes when I used it that I also changed to fire. Oh and I made it so that my next Erasing Strike after Void Cleave is a crit... and made Void Crit into a teleport. And spread Time Rot around that I also made into fire with Anomaly. And when Void Cleave is on its short cooldown? I have a basic skill in Rive that doesn't suck.
And there's also a ton of other builds I could have done with those same skills. Choices are a bad thing, right?
blizz is to scared of long term work in balancing builds, thats also why they dumbed down wow - it was to costly to always feed the crybabies for "nerf barb" "nerf pala" - thats why they did not implement pala in d4 cause its ALWAYS a shitshow of balance ^^
They all work because all are op , thus is why so many builds work
